    Love their floors here!

We love Noma! My parents and I frequent Noma because their food is fresh and yummy, we love the convenience of their location (close to where my parents live) and because the people here are so friendly. We know that every time we go, we will have a good experience - and we've been going here for 4 years! We love the teriyaki, salmon & tuna bento boxes and their special rolls, which are always plated to beautifully! When you come to Noma, don't forget to look down. Yup, down! They have a beautiful floor with images of koi fish - you don't want to miss it!

My cousin who lives in Langley took us to this local Japanese restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised! Living in Hawaii, we have so many amazing Japanese restaurants, and I didn't know what to expect of a small Japanese restaurant in the Langley. But the food was great, ambiance was clean and modern and the prices were extremely affordable! I ordered the Nabeyaki and was shocked at how generous they were with their seafood. It was a hearty nabeyaki with lots of clams and squid. At most restaurant, I might find maybe 3 clams and a couple pieces of squid, but this nabeyaki had some seafood in almost every spoonful. It was also full of fresh veggies and chicken. I would order this again in a heartbeat. The rolls were delicious and extremely affordable and the tempura was light and crisp. If you are ever out in Langley and have a craving for some good Asian food, you should visit Noma!

This was far by the worst sushi I've had. Sloppy and disgusting the service was just as bad not impressed by anything but the tea they brought out. I'm surprised that people are giving this place such raving reviews I eat a lot of sushi and this was a waste of money there was zero effort put into the rolls look at the pictures

Fish being stored on the floor. Doesn't seem like this would pass a health inspection.

I just went there for lunch and was horrified when I went to pay my bill to see fish being stored on the floor, with the kitchen and wait staff walking past it kicking up who knows what onto it. I took a photo which I will post. Won't be going back there anytime soon.

I wanted to try another Sushi spot out and as I was going through Yelp, I stumbled across Noma. Luckily it wasn't too far away from home, it had good reviews, and the prices weren't too far off - off we went! We were immediately seated outside, since it was a nice day. Service was excellent and although they were fairly busy, we were waited on well. Food came in good time, not too fast and not too slow. We ordered: Saba Sisoyaki $4.50 Takoyaki $5.95 Dancing Roll $10.95 Ton Katsu $9.95 All tasted fresh and yummy! Definitely coming back - might be new to the rotation! Thanks Noma!

Beautiful dining room. Very fresh fish. Crispy roll is an 8-piece dynamite roll will tempura crisps on top. Seasoning salt gives it a nice kick. Unagi sauce and honey mustard drizzle on top. Amazing!

Two words. Crispy roll! Their crispy roll is not only huge, but extremely flavor packed! Seasoning salt and honey mustard kind of a taste. SO great! Only $8.95.

This was a tasty late night meal. My udon was filling and the broth was flavourful. I would prefer the tempura to be served on the side to prevent it from getting soggy fast. Service was fast and somewhat lacking. The staff was a bit preoccupied with closing the place down and eating their dinner. Food was dropped soon after our order was placed. My tea cup was left empty. Good thing I had broth to sip on.

Tenpura - seafood (slice of fish, seafood stuffed vegetable and vegetable(shiitake) 9 pieces of sushi Daily miso soup - clam Dessert - kinako and mitarashi dango Chawan mushi was great. I can taste fish based broth and egg custard was very silky and smooth. Decent amount of ingredients sush as shrimp, slice of fish , bean and shimeji mushroom. I wish they served it slightly cooler than too hot. Ankimo - Great item. Monkfish liver was rich and paired with scallop and shrimp so well. Sauce was just ok. Grilled black cod was another great item. Crispy and juicy, just perfectly done. Blue fine tuna was covered by salty marinated sauce which was great when wrapped with seaweed. Cooked egg was just ok Tenpura - Seafood stuffed vegetable was my favorite. Others were also decent. Highlight and stand out item was 9 pieces of sushi. Honmaguro(bluefine tuna) was good. Shari(sushi rice) was nicely seasoned with vinegar, very mild and which I liked it. Tuna was delicious. Sea breem(MADAI) was another good piece. Delicious. Aburi Toro was nicely seared. I wish this item could be a bit more softer and buttery, but it was still good. Akaebi(red shrimp) and Hokkaido sea urchin - Lightly torched the top of sea urchin and its smokiness brought out more sweetness flavor of Akaebi(red shrimp) Hokkaido Scallop - Very smooth, soft and nice texture. I love the chawanmushi loaded with goodies inside. The ankimo (monkfish liver) dish was so tasty with the scallop and prawn. Black cod was cooked to perfection! The nigiris are all so fresh. We quickly put ourselves on the waiting list for after September so we can come here again soon! There's a parking lot just next door. The place inside is small and intimate. Service is great!

The restaurant has a cozy, no-frills interior with dark wood tables and a casual, welcoming atmosphere. It's not a place that tries to be trendy or upscale--instead, it focuses on doing one thing exceptionally well, and that's serving perfectly executed katsu. The space can get busy, which is always a good sign, but the service remains efficient and friendly without feeling rushed. I started with the Assorted Katsu, which is easily the best choice if you want to experience the full range of what they offer. The plate was generously portioned, featuring pork, chicken, fish, and shrimp katsu alongside rice, shredded cabbage salad, pickles, and dipping sauces. The standout here is the texture--the panko coating is incredibly crisp, light, and airy without feeling greasy. Each type of katsu had its own distinct character: the pork was juicy and rich, the chicken tender and moist, the fish delicate and flaky, and the shrimp firm with a satisfying bite. The tonkatsu sauce added a sweet and savory depth, while the creamy dressing complemented both the meat and the cabbage perfectly. I also tried the Kimchi Cheese Katsu Nabe, which was a completely different but equally enjoyable experience. Served bubbling in a hot stone bowl, it combined crispy katsu with a tangy, slightly spicy kimchi broth and a generous layer of melted cheese. The contrast of flavors was excellent--the kimchi brought brightness and heat, while the cheese added richness and balance. As the katsu soaked in the broth, the outer layer softened slightly but still retained enough texture, while the inside remained juicy. It's definitely a heavier dish, but incredibly comforting and satisfying. One element that really stood out was the cabbage salad. Finely shredded and topped with a light creamy dressing, it provided a refreshing crunch that balanced out the richness of the fried dishes. It might seem simple, but it plays an essential role in keeping the meal from feeling overwhelming. Paired with the warm rice, pickles, and soup, everything comes together as a well-rounded set rather than just a plate of fried food. Overall, this place delivers exactly what you want from a katsu restaurant: consistently crispy cutlets, generous portions, and thoughtful balance in every meal. While the interior is simple and it can get busy, the food more than makes up for it. I would absolutely recommend trying the Assorted Katsu for variety and the Kimchi Cheese Katsu Nabe if you're in the mood for something rich and bold. It's a spot I'll definitely be returning to.

The space is understandably understated especially during the Christmas season. Totally ok with the lack of the holiday. We were sat quickly, water dropped right away. It's larger than we thought with two separate areas which would be great if you had a large party. Knowing little about the experience we ordered the mixed Katsu experience and the cheese Katsu, understanding as we always do that we will share the food. The cheese Katsu said right on the menu one order per table, which now makes sense. Eating four pieces of it is just simply too much cheese, so plan on one half per person, hence the one per table. The mixed Katsu had, prawn, fish, chicken and pork portions which were very tasty and a good quantity. Both came with accompanying salad and rice which rounded out the meal. The salad was excellent and the rice was well cooked. We will be back for sure, hopefully with more folks so we can experiment more.
