Apparently when you're the only restaurant on the beach you can charge whatever you want. $29 for a hamburger with cheese is more than what Gordon Ramsay charges for a significantly better burger experience. $12.50 for about IPA on tap is a bit much, but not as egrigeous as the other prices. The batter on the fish was really crispy, and not claggy or greasy like a lot can be. The fries were also very fresh and crisp. 2 piece cod and chips (with a Kilkenny beer) - 8/10 - a really tasty meal and exactly what I was craving! Everything was very fresh, and came out quickly. I went to the beach for some seafood : Fish N Chips to be specific and I believe I ended up at the right place. My partner and I were greeted the moment we walked in and sat in the inside but you still got the breeze (WHICH WAS GREAT) There was so many choices but I feel like there weren't enough seafood choices on the Menu for a restaurant by the beach.. which was quite disappointing. I got the Fish N Chips and substituted the fries for the coconut rice (WHICH IS TO DIE FOR - IM SERIOUS ITS A MUST TRY) It comes with a lemon wedge, tartar sauce and lots of coleslaw (which I think is great because I actually like coleslaw.. LOL, right? I'm one of those) BUT they did have seeds in them which I did not like so much.. It comes with two pieces of fish - They have the BIGGEST pieces of fish I have seen anywhere yet! I really love this place on a warm summer evening! The patio is a lovely spot to sit and look over the ocean as the sun sets right before you! My two recommendations from the menu would be the Pulled Pork Sandwich and the Taro Root Chips with Salsa and Guacamole. My husband's go to is the Fish and Chips! You can also order take out and have a picnic on the beach! We've done that before too with the Taro Root Chip...yum yum! This is a great option if it's a busy night in the restaurant! Parking can be tricky in Crescent Beach but the good thing is that it's free parking! Crescent Beach is the kind of place that makes you relax instantly, take big breaths of the sea air and enjoy! This beachside restaurant has a great view, which is good because you may be looking at it a long time while waiting for any service. We had a large party (12) who all arrived at different times. The waitress was wonderful to bring us cups of ice but never brought us water. Some of us were able to order drinks, but others at our table waited over an hour for drinks. The restaurant was not busy and had lots of staff so the slow service was clearly the restaurant's service systems. There is no bartender, each waitress had to make drinks for her table. Our waitress had two large tables and was obviously overwhelmed. There was easily enough staff to have one bartender and four waitresses. The food was ok, coleslaw had too much dressing and the fish and chips had no seasoning. Tarter sauce had no zing, tasted like mayo with pickles cut up in it. The fish was super fresh and cooked well. The waitress was so overwhelmed she over charged our table and wouldn't let the last couple to leave until she figured it out, which she never did. Hooked is a great location to enjoy the lovely scenery of crescent beach and have a bite to eat. I find the prices a little high but I believe your also paying for the best view of the beach. My go to order is the fish tacos which always taste quite fresh as well as the dip fried pickles. Hooked is the best place to try deep fried pickles for the first time and are an 100 percent must try. I have never tried the fish and chips but another member of my party said they were quite tastey as well. The service is always friendly and I like the casual and beach atmosphere since you can come directly from pier jumping or a beach day and not feel underdressed. Beautiful little place out by Crescent beach in White Rock. My famjam and I came here for a little late lunch and my sister and I split the fish tacos and fish and chips. Their white fish is on POINT. The fish tacos were a touch spicy but that's just how I like 'em. They also make a mean caesar with all the fixin's. The menu here is moderately priced and full of delicious looking seafood. Every time my parents have come here they have a real nice time. Definitely will be coming back! read more

The coleslaw was fab too. It's a small place and it is winter so we'll be back in the summer, they have a great patio and large sliding doors that will open up when weather permits. Love coming to Hooked Fish Bar! I can walk here from home, and it's absolutely delicious! Can get a bit busy as it is summer, but can usually always find a seat on the patio. Good fish and chips, and have had a number of their other seafood dishes including their fish tacos, mussels, and calamari. Only downside, is that their closing hours aren't set, so it's tough to know if it's a little late in the evening that they will be open or not. read more

Both dishes like appealing but we both enjoyed the fish tacos more. However the fish tacos didn't come with fries even though it was under "fish and chips". The oyster po'boy was ok as it was too fried and the tzatziki sauce tasted more like mayo sauce. The poutine was decent as it had cheese curds melted well with the gravy sauce. The fries were a bit too crispy for us as if it was deep fried multiple times before. The server told us the new cook made a mistake and made the poutine a bit larger than it should but we were not charged for it. I would recommend it! read more

Probably my own fault I was disappointed. For the price & location I had higher expectations for the food. The fish tacos, while ok in portion (not a great value by any means), were too spicy to really taste anything else. The white "Chowduh" tasted like mushroom soup, according to my kid. And the 2 piece fish and chips were mediocre (& again, not a great value). While the location is great if you want to sit in the restaurant or patio, we opted to grab a spot on the walkway mear the water. Went to Hooked for their Seafood chowder. It is one of my favourite dishes and I have been going to Hooked for years. My wife and I walked in and although there were lots of empty tables we noticed that the cushions on every chair were filthy and the floor was disgusting. We decided to order take out instead of eating inside. My wife lost her appetite so I ordered one seafood chowder and an order of fries. The bill was $17.00. The chips were cold and the chowder was tasteless. That will the last time we visit Hooked! What a shame, it used to be so good. read more

Walked in and were told to sit anywhere so long as our infants stroller wasn't in the way. Pulled pork had that thick orange grease running everywhere and immediately slid off the soggy bun. Apparently this restaurant just opened under this name, and I hope they stick around! Grab a seat on the patio overlooking the beach, a cold beer and some great fish and chips, mussels, and crab cakes, and enjoy the sunset or simply people watch and you cant go wrong here. Nothing too fancy but a perfect fit for the little beach town of Crescent Beach. The owner and staff were very friendly, and the owner was a treat to talk to. If you want a place to do a bit of work over a beer and a sunset they also have free wi-fi. read more
