Serving Richmond since 1978! Awesome classic fish and chips and their other menu items are also great. Service is awesome, and they can fill up fast during peak times. Pricing is fair and portions are decent. Great place if you're a visitor or local, and very dependable quality.

We had the fried clams and also the cod fish. The fried clams as you might be able to tell from the photos were a bit over fried. They were sweet but a bit too chewy. Much better with the lemon The fish was crispy but the cod was again a bit overcooked. The fish was almost rubbery. The tartare sauce was okay Service was really friendly - not fast but really friendly and nice. Would come back to try their other items

Went at lunch time on a Friday. The service was relatively quick despite 2 other groups being there. Our waitress offered to take a picture of us without prompting. I love how the place is decorated! Huge fan of the paintings around the restaurant. It does have a bit of Krusty Krab vibes. The orange creamsicle I ordered was good but nothing extraordinary. Clam chowder was super tasty. I've only ever had fish and chips at White Rock before and this is definitely better. I ordered the cod fish and chips. You could totally share the meal between two as the portion is rather large. The batter is light and well seasoned. I appreciate that it is not very greasy and it maintains a good crunch. The fish is nice and flaky on the inside. I thought it was a good batter to fish ratio. The slaw was delicious. If I'm being honest, I'm not the biggest fish and chips fan as I'm quite picky about fried food in general. But if you're in Steveston, it's only right that you get fish and chips and I think I made the right choice eating here. Would recommend!

A great spot for some fresh fish & chips in Richmond around Stevenson Fisherman's Wharf. Been here a few times and the food and service never disappoints. When you come here, definitely get the cod or salmon fish & chips!

It was a sunny spring day and we wanted to find a nice a lot to sit outside and have some great fish and chips. Initially we were going to the old reliable, Pajo's but couldn't find parking anywhere close by, and happened across Dave's. The line up only took about 15 mins to get through. They allow one person to go inside and order. The prices are very reasonable and they have several choices, besides fish and chips, such as chicken strips, burgers, oysters, prawns and scallops. There are several tables to the left of the restaurant outside, but of course those are busy, so you'll want to keep an eye out to nab one when you can. We got the fish basket, which includes two pieces of fish (you can choose cod, salmon or halibut with different price ranges) 2 fried prawns, 2 fried oysters and 2 fried scallops. It also comes with fries, tartar sauce and red seafood sauce. It came hot and crispy, not soggy at all. The batter is really tasty and the fish was fresh and moist, not too oily. I loved the scallop as well, it tasted so good, fresh, and you could really taste the scallop. The oyster and prawn were also really good and fried perfectly. The fries were ok.....a little dry but using up the provided malt vinegar helped! We will definitely come back when we are having a fish and chip craving!

    Logo and funny motto

I'm assuming the restaurant is just as bad as the take out since it's the same restaurant. Even though I asked if there was peanut oil used, I still had an allergic reaction to the fried foods. When my family asked the person at the front just shrugged their shoulders. Thankfully I know the taste and had my medical bag. But good news if you DONT have a peanut allergy, great value for what you get, big portions, and outdoors was a good ambiance. My dad said the food was delicious.

Came to try the fish and chips as that's the thing to do if you're in Steveston right!? Overall-decent fish and chips, tartare sauce was great. I wouldn't say it was the best fish and chips I've ever had, but it was definitely good and I'd visit again. They have a order window and optional seating. Orders were a bit slow to come out during busier times as they also do take out orders over the phone -but that's expected.

The prices were very reasonable for Steveston area. The restaurant filled up rather quickly for a cold Wednesday afternoon in March. The food came out quickly and was hot and fresh tasting. The portions were of average size. The Tiger prawns were the best part of the Meal. I ordered the first mates platter with a bowl of clam chowder instead of fries. Today they were out of halibut so I got the salmon. The salmon was a good choice. The clam chowder was a tad on the salty side for my liking so next time I'll try the fresh cut fries & halibut. I recommend to try this place when your in Steveston.

Awesome shrimp and chips. The customer service was phenomenal. Location is also a plus as it is close to the marina.

And while there are no shortage of seafood restaurants serving fresh crab on the Steveston waterfront, we wanted to give The Crab King a fair shake. I'm so glad that we did! My wife ordered a King Crab for herself which, after tearing it literally limb-from-limb, eventually declared it to be tied for her favorite boiled crab dish anywhere! High praise coming from such a consummate crustacean connoisseur! For myself and our son, an order of fish and chips, and the grilled chicken sandwich rounded out our order, both of which were crispy, tasty and delicious. Regarding the fish and chips, they appeared to be tempura-battered, and I'm still not 100% sure what type of fish it was. It may have been cod, but it seemed more like catfish, but either way, it was tender, juicy, flaky and delicious. No complaints here! More than anything, though, the employees here went out of their way to make our experience enjoyable. Our toddler son, who is normally extremely well-behaved in restaurants, was having a bit of a fuss here and there. Without prompting, the servers brought us a little radio to play music for him, as well as a couple of toys to play with, one of them being a wind-up truck that they gave to him to take home! He loved it there, and still plays with it at home! They even played peek-a-boo with him from behind the counter, soliciting laughs and giggles, for the better part of 15 minutes! That sort of customer service is nearly impossible to find, and should be praised and cherished wherever it is found! Whatever the past may have held for this restaurant, the Crab King is an entirely new animal now, serving up fresh seafood by uncommonly wonderful employees, in a fantastic floating location. They even offer to cook spot prawns and other seafood purchased from the boats docked at the nearby waterfront marketplace, for a modest fee. With all these things going for it, there's no doubt who wears the crown of Crab King in Steveston Harbor!

We arrived in time for our reservation but there was no one at the front. We waited for a few minutes for someone to notice we were there, and were immediately seated. It's a nice looking place - very classic whites, and feels like a fine dining restaurant. We decided to try the following: - Beef Carpaccio: Good. Maybe a bit light on the meat, as it was buried by the arugula and pickled shallots, so seemed unbalanced, but overall tasted great - Seafood Linguini: Mixed. Linguini was good. Scallops were really good and tender. Mussels were tiny. Red snapper was tough and dry. As a dish, it was OK, but could be better. Seafood is seasonal, so I'd think they would be better off rotating what seafood is used. - LuLu Island: OK. Same issue as the linguine. Prawns were fine. Mussels tiny. Red snapper wasn't enjoyable. Broth had flavour, but didn't come out very hot. Service was pleasant but slow. I only saw one server and one busser, so not enough staff to handle 6 or 7 tables they had. Starter came n reasonable time, but main dishes seemed to take over 20min. Took awhile to get our plates cleared, and probably 15+ minutes to get the bill. Overall, it was OK. Food was OK, but not special. Service was nice enough, but couldn't keep up with timing. Glad I got to try it, but not special enough to go back.

Look no further than here for super fresh seafood and house made drinks…read more I read about fisherman Frank's story a couple of weeks ago and how the food truck came to be. I like supporting local businesses and food is an easy way to do that since we need to eat. It was closed the first time I went. Good thing the hours were posted on the food truck. So I came back again and got to try the special. Grilled snapper with Greek and orzo salad. The snapper was so fresh. It was sweet and tender. The Greek salad was also good, no limp-looking vegs. Crunchy and juicy cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes. The tomato was bursting with juice every time I stabbed it with the fork. I gave up and just popped it into my mouth. Yums. The street corn was also sweet and juicy with a bit of char. Love the toppings on it. There was a promo for street corn and drink ($8). I had the ginger citrus iced tea. The iced tea was lightly sweetened and I found it just right for my taste. The ginger and citrus flavor was very subtle, not overpowering. I like that they made it in house. None of those powder or box tea. I will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu. Friendly staff too. Prices are a bit on the high side for a food truck but the quality justified it. Nothing worse than paying more for mediocre food. An order of warm seafood salad for wifey, 2pc halibut and chips for me and we shared an order of tom yum goon soup from the Thai section. Everything was tasty, fresh and perfectly cooked. The calamari had a nice crisp, well cooked and had a nice tzatziki dip. The fish was perfectly cooked and portion size was wonderful. I got a nice mouth full of fish each bite and the batter was not overly thick. The Thai soup was flavourful and had decent amount of mushroom and shrimp within. Seems like it was all poached so there was no colour and everything was the same texture, colour, and flavour.
