fish and chips in a box
    Benson W.

This location was SO BUSY! Extremely nice weather, lots and lots of people in the park = means a real challenge in finding parking. I was temporarily parking on the lot also shared by Boathouse, and I was lucky that a car pulled out and left the lot and I quickly got the spot. Previous to this I was circling around the area within 1-2 km radius and no available parking spots. Anyway, Pajos fish and chips! This is a place that offers a BIRTHDAY BOGO (buy one get one) but you must sign up at least a week in advance. And the offer lasts for 120 days starting the day of your birthday. Fried fish and chips, always a delight and BIRTHDAY TRADITION. REPEAT of course! If you would like more tartar sauce, don't be shy, just ask for more.

Came here for a walk around Rocky Point. After the walk we decided to treat ourselves to fish n chips and tacos. We were fist in line. The service was prompt. They opened 10 minutes early as there were already customers hovering around (including us). We were served with generous servings of cod fish tacos in flour tortillas. The fish was plump and juicy. I'm a fan of corn tortillas so I wish it is also an option. And oh the fish n chips was a delight. It was served in a newspaper like parchment paper which I found unique and appealing. The tables have holes on them to accommodate the triangular shaped serving. When you come you'll get what I mean. The experience was so pleasant. You feel like you're one with the community. The sunny weather helped. We all need days like this.

Definite must to try their Salmon. I've never had salmon fish and chips so it was something I was looking forward to. Salmon was fat and tender. Fries was nothing special so I recommend just ordering their fish only Service was quick

Update. Food 4/5 Venue 4/5 Service 4/5 Just before us in line was a guide lead ordering 20 senior meals for outing day. Each order was entered separately, all child combos. I was amazed how resilient and patient the server was. We both ordered 2 piece wild cod combos. The food came out piping out. The batter on the fish was on the oily side. The food in general was bland; supposedly so customers can add sauces and dressing to their liking. Overall it hits the spot. And the food was remarkably fresh. Bonus is to be outside on a sunny beautiful day.

I haven't had really good fish and chips until I came to Pajo's. Look for the bright yellow umbrellas at Rocky Point Park in Port Moody. They also have other locations at the YVR Airport and Richmond. They offer 100% Vancouver Aquarium Ocean Wise seafood. There are many options available with a choice of wild salmon, cod, or Alaskan halibut fish & chips with yummy tartar. The fries are bottomless. I had the two piece halibut with fresh cut fries with good portions of each. I was pleasantly surprised that there was little batter, halibut was moist, and wasn't greasy tasting. They also offer seafood tacos and burgers. If you love (good) fish and chips, I highly recommend Pajo's. Try the other seafood choices such as tacos. Forget the burgers as you can get that anywhere. A great place to go after a walk through the trails at Rocky Point. It's mainly takeout but there are picnic tables nearby.

On the occasional sunny day, fiance and I like to venture out to Rocky Point Park.. not for the breweries, not for the park itself, but for the fish and chips (then the ice cream is a bonus)! Pajo's has been our favourite spot for fish and chips and we have been coming here for years! We had it at Stevenson several times but at Rocky Point Park more since it is closer to us. We always get the Halibut and Chips. You can taste to the quality of the fish and the batter is light. And the fries are the best.. I always have to finish every last piece. Added bonus: since they re-opened, you can bring back your tray and receipt to get another serving of fries. Doesn't get better than that!

Two piece cod and fries for $21.50

Unfortunately, Pajo's in Rocky Point isn't what it was. Even with a line six people deep, it took an hour to get the food. The prices have gone up significantly, which is understandable with inflation, but the portions have become so small that they barely fit in the holes in the tables anymore. You may want to visit for nostalgic reasons, but save your money and support the food trucks or visit one of the many other fish and chips restaurants in the Tri-Cities.

Batter is decently thin and could be a bit oily if they are busy and not drain it long enough

A food stand in the middle of a popular park (Rocky Point) churning out pipping hot fresh "Wild" fish & chips, Pajo $14-19 price for 2 pieces of fish (cod, halibut or salmon) and fries is not exactly cheap, yet there is often a huge line up on sunny days. The fish pieces are good size and the fries are perfect. Batter is a bit on the oily side compared to Austin fish house but I am ok with it. They put all the condiments except tartar sauce out on a self serve stand. Staff cashier is usually a young female and today we encountered an exceptional al bright young lady who ha dlendiffiult customwrs and complicated orders extremely well. We presented our birthday promotional offer of buy one get one free and she quickly took our order with no question asked. Fountain drink machine is self serve and exposed to many wasps which could be very annoying for customers trying to fill their cups. Need a wasps management tool. This is the fourth time that we had tried Pajo and their quality has always been consistent. Love the Frank's hot sauce, Sirarcha, ketchup, vinegar and lemon wedges that are all self serve. All food has little to no salt (perhaps catering to low-sodium population) so you will definitely want to load up on the sauces. Seating wise it is outdoor benches with sun umbrella. Nothing fancy. You pay the price to eat in the park. For same amount of money you can get a bigger portion and tastier Wild cod at Austin fish house. My criteria: Food taste 4/5 Food freshness 5/5 Ambience 3/5 Cleanliness 3/5 Service 4/5 Total: 19/25=76

Something about the batter didn't taste right..the fries were also not cooked great. Maybe the oil was bad? For 30$ I excepted more.

Interior was quaint and well decorated. Outside patio was cozy and delightful in the nice weather. I ordered a ling cod and chips, wifey ordered Cajun Prawn and avocado Benny. I also ordered full bowl of clam chowder to try out. The ling cod was fried perfectly , 2pc decent portion size crispy and the meat was moist. I did wish it was seasoned as the meat itself tasted bland but fresh as fish goes. Adding a bit of salt on it before dipping in the tartar sauce helped. The chips nice and crispy, soft interior and seasoned well. The coslaw was lightly dressed, I prefer a bit more dressing but it was still ok. The chowder was creamy and full of seafood. Very tasty and I probably shouldn't have gotten a full bowl as wifey couldn't help much with sharing and I was reaching capacity with the fish and chips. The sour dough bread that came with the chowder was toasted expertly as it was crispy on the exterior and still had a nice soft chew interior which i love. Wifeys Benny i didn't try so cannot attest to its taste but she seemed to enjoy it. I did eat a couple of her home style potatoes and this were crispy and soft in the middle. Very nice. The servers were excellent and very attentive, making sure we were taken care of and checked on us appropriately. Even with how busy they were i could see how they attended to everybody very well. If around the area would definitely go back. Food was pretty good, service great and atmosphere lovely.

Restaurant was pretty quiet when we picked up our takeout & is fairly spacious size for dining in restaurant. Also, not sure if the main door would be wide enough for a walker or wheelchair. Staff was friendly b & helped us realize we could order a meal that had both of what we wanted to try. Fish (the choice of cod & halibut meal) were lightly battered, flaky when eating & to me, they were large pieces. We enjoyed both enjoyed them. Fries that came with the meal were nothing special but we really enjoyed the tartar sauce. They included vinegar & ketchup as well as forks and napkins in our takeout bag. Takeout was wrapped in newspaper & fries were included with one of the fish pieces in a cardboard tray. As I haven't enjoyed fish & chips since being out on the coast in Oct, I'm not sure if that's the average pricing now but seemed a bit expensive for 2 pieces of fish (even looking at only ordering one type). Especially since there wasn't any drinks included in the meal price. Overall decent meal & did the trick to fill us up. Was nice to introduce my friend to a new meal option in his neighborhood

It's very similar if not the same. Interior is run of the mill. Don't expect fancy. I'd say it's 70's-80's decor. Pricing, not bad. Tartar sauce tastes like it's Miracle Whip based, but I could be wrong. The batter is very light on the fish and the chicken was very crispy. Server advised it would take 20 mins. In other words, Crab Shack is located at the very NE corner of the entire complex, right before Maplewood Flats.
