First time here as there are no Fish n Chips restaurants in North Delta. Pleasantly surprised! We ordered the 2 piece halibut with fries, an extra piece of halibut, coleslaw and a Diet Coke. Bill was just over $36.00 and we went home with leftovers. Lots of food for two. Halibut was very meaty, not that much batter and not greasy. Fries were good. I encountered this little hole-in-the-wall shop by accident while searching for a place to try the fish and chips in Canada (I came to visit from the US), and all the other locations had already closed, so I said why not? The rating was 3 stars, but I didn't want to dock points before giving it a go. When my family and I arrived, there was only one man working--my guess is that he was the owner--and he welcomed us warmly, even offered his recommendation for what to try. The four of us all ended up getting the regular 2-piece fish and chips, though you can also choose salmon, halibut, or snapper instead. He told us it would only be a 15- to 20-minute wait. We were the only guests there, but there were so many seats that I thought 6pm probably wasn't a busy time. It was pretty quiet inside, but it was pleasant to hear the sizzling in the kitchen. You could tell that the fish was cooked from scratch, maybe even came fresh off the boat. Each piece was huge. They were so crispy and tender they just melted in your mouth, and they weren't overly breaded. The fries were a little on the soft side, but paired really well with the tartar sauce. The coleslaw was amazing on its own, with a slight tang and light creaminess. The only things missing were the traditional malt vinegar and lemon wedge! Other than that, I would still rate this place 5 stars because of the friendly service, the sheer mass of the fish, and he prepared eight fish plus fries and coleslaw in an astounding 20 minutes! Went there while visiting Canada from the U.S. was very impressed. I swear I got the whole fish. HUGE portions and EXTREMELY tasty. Was a last second choice on the way back to apartment where I stayed as a tourist. We made the right decision. As a family of 4, it was enough fish for 8 people. I don't know what this place considers Halibut Fish but for 73.75 for 3 dinners with Pop was absolutely disgustingly. The so called Halibut Fish was mushy not meaty at all. I asked the server he said it was Halibut but I've never had even Cod that tasted so nasty. Definitely WON'T be back at least to this location !!!!! I told him I think he got ripped off and that maybe the supplier wasn't honest about what they sold him. But he insisted it was Halibut. Went in on a hot Day to get Take out' Fish n chips for a lunch in the park. They would not give me a glass of water or fill my water bottle, when I got my food and went to the park alas, no eating utensils in the bag, I called and asked why no fork to eat my take out and he said" in an elevated annoyed tone' if you want a fork you must as for a fork.....you no ask fork, Noted... and will not go here again, oh the food may have been good but as I had to wait so long to eat it as I had no fork, it was a tad soggy and my dog ate most off it. read more

Now days not much choice for Fish and Chips locally so if you want to get the signature fish and chips taste sure you can eat here but bring some wipes to wipe the tables down there very oily and greasy and sticky also be prepared to get your fish with 2 pounds of batter over it on the heavy side I would say overall my experience I rated as a 2 could use some work. The fries were soggy and both fish and fries tasted as if the oil was old and burnt. This is by far the worst Mr. Pickwick location. The "chef" who also doubled as our waiter said the 10.95 meal was larger portion than the 7.95 meal. So the wife got the lunch special at 7.95 and I got the bigger portion. When they arrived they were exactly the same size. Large portions of fish however batter didn't seem fully cooked inside (gooey). There were barley any fries and "where's the lemon". The "hostess" spoke loudly on the phone the whole time at the front entrance. when we were full I had to get my own to go clam shells from the front window because I did not want to interrupt her important conversation. I guess we were the only ones there so it must have been hard to check on us at least once. Considering the disgusting washrooms, unsanitary kitchen, the lack of service and the misrepresentation of the menu. I would highly recommend this place to someone I didn't like and tell them to pay the extra 3 bucks at lunch instead of getting the special.
