A favourite spot for good fish and chips served by a hustling friendly and efficient staff during trying times Without a garrulous animal in sight

This place is doing a great job of keeping people safe during the pandemic. The blocking off of tables and opening the patio is a great start, but then you see people wiping things down and cleaning all the time, it makes you feel comfortable at a time like this. The picture I posted is of the all you can eat which was ok. The chips were great. The fish was a bit greasy. There was more batter than there was fish. My wife however ordered just a 1 piece meal and her fish was juicy and flaky and cooked perfectly. That's why I gave this 4 stars.

We didn't feel like driving out to Richmond for Pajo's so C-Lovers Fish & Chips was on our radar. We opted for their All-You-Can-Eat Fish & Chips with bottomless drink for $14.99! Our platters came pretty quickly, and you can see your order being fried up with the open kitchen visible. Our plates initially came with 6 pieces of freshly, battered and fried cod pieces and thick cut fries. The batter was light, golden and not saturated in oil. The cod was cod - nothing fishy here ;) The fries were hot and crispy. We got a second round of fish and ordered another 6 pieces. The service was really efficient and friendly. Overall, we were full of fish and our craving for fried foods was very much satisfied. Too bad the weather wasn't nicer, the patio area looks pretty nice for a hot day! Plenty of seating inside and free parking. Very family friendly as we saw multiple groups come in for dinner.

Moby Dick's is obviously a busy place in the summer, being right across from the waterfront -- but…read morein January, it's a sleepy area and the restaurant is active, but not too busy. We found the food unremarkable - standard fish, standard chips, standard coleslaw, standard tartar sauce. All fried food is pretty standard, pretty greasy, but not any better or worse than many fish & chips shops. So why a 3-star rating rather than 4-stars? First, there is there menu and pricing: What is called a 1-piece fish & chips comes with 2 pieces - all identified fish comes with one extra piece. It's a gimmick, and mostly just annoying. 2nd, there is a charge for everything -- Want tartar sauce? There are three sizes, three prices. Want to substitute onion rings for the fries? Can't do it, even with an up-charge, though you can order fish and you can order onion rings, each separately, each with its own price. Coleslaw? Yes, but not instead of fries. And the coleslaw is pricey - a good sized portion, but a substantial price none-the-less. The portion sizes are reasonably large, but the incessant a-la-carte with each item with a price - one feels nickled and dimed to death. The atmosphere - ok, 1950s-ish, nothing special. The staff, friendly and attentive, but young and inexperienced. And then there was the problem with the cooking -- we got 5 pieces of fish (ordered 2 and 1, which is really 2+1 and 1+1 = 5). Four of them were pretty standard. One was undercooked - cooked on the outer edges (under the fried batter), and raw and translucent on the inside. Yes, they took that off the ticket, so I didn't have to pay for it, but biting into a piece of raw fish with the outside so hot it almost burned my mouth and the inside uncooked - not so pleasant. Moby Dick's gets good ratings from many Yelpers, but in my view, it's not worth going out of your way for.

I ordered the platter that came with a whole bunch of stuff including fried oysters, scallops and shrimp. A small place that can get pretty busy but worth the wait.

When I arrived, I did not had to wait for a table and was even offered to sit inside the restaurant or in the patio area. I ordered the Croque Madame with coffee. The coffee was pretty good and saw myself having a second cup. The croque madame was very piquant in taste. The cheese in the croque had nice consistency and eating it was a lot like having a monte Cristo. The hashbrowns were solid good. The service was very pleasant and were willing to serve breakfast past noon. The establishment looked really nice and I loved the traditional cabin appearance to it. Overall, the Corner café is a very excellent restaurant for both breakfast and lunch. I would like to come back there to eat again.

The bagel sandwich with smoked salmon was resfreshing and tasty with just the right amount of cucumber and onion to add some crunch. Also, the home fries were nicely salted and seasoned! There were some people there, but wasn't busy on a weekday lunch hour. Seem to be an one-man-show when I was there, as the guy cooked the food and took the payment. Got the 2 piece fish and chips. Didn't wait too long. Ended up getting a pretty big box of food that was actually 3 pieces of fried fish, along with a bed of fries and some salad, all for about $20. Comes with the salad vinaigrette, tartar sauce, and a lemon wedge. Portions definitely generous. The salad was tangy. Both the fish and fries were fried nice and crispy. Good batter on the fish. Was on the fence about adding more salt but with the tartar sauce it was fine. Everything was good except the actual fish, which was a bit mushy. Not expecting super high quality for the price, but the texture wasn't great. Overall, I would give 5 stars for everything else about the box of food, but the mushy fish is 3 stars. Average it to 4.
