Also, not sure if the main door would be wide enough for a walker or wheelchair. Staff was friendly b & helped us realize we could order a meal that had both of what we wanted to try. Fish (the choice of cod & halibut meal) were lightly battered, flaky when eating & to me, they were large pieces. We enjoyed both enjoyed them. Fries that came with the meal were nothing special but we really enjoyed the tartar sauce. They included vinegar & ketchup as well as forks and napkins in our takeout bag. Takeout was wrapped in newspaper & fries were included with one of the fish pieces in a cardboard tray. As I haven't enjoyed fish & chips since being out on the coast in Oct, I'm not sure if that's the average pricing now but seemed a bit expensive for 2 pieces of fish (even looking at only ordering one type). They kept the original structure but redesigned the interior, which now has a beautiful Thai-inspired fusion style. Food-wise, I liked everything I ordered. The two appetizers complemented each other well--one deep-fried and one herb-based, creating a nice balance. The chicken leg noodle had a very creamy soup base. Tasted fine, but the chicken, although tender, had a slightly mealy quality to it that I thought was a bit strange. - Pad Ka-Pao Beef: Good, but the beef was more "wet" that I normally see it. - Naem Fried Rice: Good. No complaints. Service was very pleasant, and they took the time to present and describe the dishes. They did seem less attentive as the place got busier though. I would rate this visit a 3.25 out of 5 - a little better than average. It is nothing fancy, in fact it's always a bit cold and with wooden chairs and tables. I believe it was a "Post Office" at one time? That said, you can't get a better meal! We both had a bowl of their Cream of Broccoli soup and it was arguably the best I have had. I also had a Caesar Salad which I love but this one had a Balsamic reduction. I wasn't sure how they would do it but I tried it. Not a fan! The salad was fresh and wonderful but the sweetness of the reduction just didn't belong in my opinion. Some chefs just need to try to improve great receipts but some need to left alone. lol Again, my humble opinion. Only complaint was that our table was sticky... Not a big deal and I was aware of the salad but tried it anyway. Want to come back and try the Mussels!

From what I've heard, the new management isn't very upfront with people, which might explain why so many long-time employees have disappeared. Even people with deep roots here don't seem to be sticking around, which is pretty telling. Not trying to stir anything up, just honestly disappointed. The food was sooooo good. I didn't know fried fish could be this flavorful. The price was also incredibly affordable: all-you-can-eat on certain days of the week is only $19 plus tax and tip. We also had a large coleslaw with unlimited pop drinks, and the bill came out to only about $24 per person total. I would absolutely come here again. The size of the fish pieces we had were huge and since we got the all-you-can-eat option, they provided 2 pieces per person at first and you can ask for additional pieces later.

I remember my grandma taking me to the WS in the 70s (oh my do I date myself) & me freaking out like a little school girl, over the glass that I had my drink in. I wanted that glass so badly I cried. Grandma tried to buy it for me. Gawd bless her soul. Back in the day the WS would draw families in with their kids via The Pirate Pack. The kids meal would be served on a Pirate Pak - a paper / cardboard boat & my brother & I, in fact every kid would go absolutely bonkers! Not sure if that still happens today? Ah those we're the days when I had no bills or stress. I had not been to the WS in over 30 years nor did I miss it. A few years ago, the WS went through a major renovation updating the interior decor at all their restaurants. However, it still feels old to me. My Monty Burger was just ok. Couldn't really taste the 'secret sauce' WS is famous for. My cocktail - good. The highlight & sensation - my chocolate milkshake - it was excellent. I almost might go back just for that. These days the crowd at WS is mainly of the geriatrics type, according to my observation. This older generation must have come here frequently as kids & as a result, still love the WS today. Kudos to them. The WS continues to be a popular restaurant to eat at for many - I can't explain why. Each to his own. Do I need to go back anytime soon - nah.
