I had high hopes for Moby Dick after hearing so many people rave about it, and there were definitely some highlights, but also a few things that left me underwhelmed. First, the good: I really appreciated the extra piece of fish! The batter was beautifully crisp and golden, and the fish itself was flaky and fresh. Classic comfort food vibes. That said, the meal ended up sitting really heavy. I don't usually feel nauseous after fish and chips, but this one left me feeling overly full and a bit off, which surprised me. The Caesar salad I ordered was drenched in dressing...now, I do like my salad well-dressed, but this was way over the top, even for me. Also, it felt a bit stingy to charge extra for tartar sauce. I get if you want to charge for extra portions, but a small serving should really come standard with a fish and chips order.

We came on a Saturday and this place had a line out of the door. We decided to try this place and the place next door. You can read my review there. We ordered the 1 piece fish and chip ($16.25), oyster burger ($12.95) and tartar sauce (0.75). The fish and chips were very generous. The chips were not anything special but the fish was lightly fried not overly oily. Flaky and overall not bad. Love that it's served in a box so it's easy to take out The oyster burger was HUGE and very worth it for the price. It had a lot of vegetables in it and the oysters tasted not sandy or too seafoody. I would order the oyster burger again The tartar sauce was nothing special but I can't eat fish and chips without it so I had to order it. We were 10th in line but our order came out pretty fast (15 minutes approx).

1 piece cod and chips. All orders come with an extra piece of fish.

It was outta the sun, we sat inside, in the back. Was a table for two beside the restroom door, the sounds echoed in the small back alcove.... Anyway. We both ordered the 1 piece cod and chips. I found a Steamworks IPA, bless their hearts and the boss decided on water. For as busy as they were, they took our order pretty quick, and the food arrived fresh, hot and crispy, in no time at all. Delicious, hit the spot on a week long craving for fish and chips.

Good service and ambiance is exactly as it should be! Love love love this spot and will do the drive to enjoy it every time we can!

Eh, super greasy fish. One of the pieces of fish was pretty bad. Bad as in mostly breaded and a tiny bit of fish. After finishing my meal, I felt sick. And I have a strong stomach, rarely feel affected. The fries were OK. Overall , average at best. The award of the best fish and chips...maybe from many years ago. The recipe doesn't work In 2024.... As this food is average at best.

2 Piece Fish & Chips - yes it comes with a 3rd piece.

Large portion sizes, seaside water views. Perfect for a sunny day near the beach. The fish pieces here were massive. I was able to share the 2 pieces with my partner as it came with 3 pieces. Oil was probably a tad dirty as the batter looks quite dark. However, taste was not compromised. Clam chowder was a bit on the smaller side and wasn't as filling with clams or cream as I'd have liked. This place does get very busy so service is as good as can be expected under the circumstances on a busy sunny day. Pricing is on the steeper side but comparable to other eateries in the vicinity. Don't venture out here often but it was a nice day so this hit the spot for what was to be expected

My SO and I just passed the border and we were asking ourselves "where to now?". We decided to try the fish and chips in the area. This is the nearest restaurant that pinged on our location. And the GPS took us in circles. Instead of saying turn left, at the end of the road. She wanted me to take right and take a sharp left. Huh!!! I didn't listen to her the second time and we just turned left. Voila!! The restaurant is just right there. Duh!! Now the review The restaurant doesn't have a complicated menu. We ordered each of 1pc Fish & Chips. Unbeknownst to us, it comes with an extra piece. Wonderful!! More for us to eat. Haha. The fish is piping hot upon serving, crispy outside but juicy and tender inside. In no time, we ravished our food. We will surely come back again. Especially when the weather is nice to enjoy the patio. Small but busy place. People are in and out. Maybe it be a couple or a big group. Lovely decors. Bathroom facility is clean. Good customer service. Ample paid parking lots across the street.

I was hesitant on a place for fish and chips given that there were so many restaurants that serve it in the area, but eventually ended up at Moby Dick. My friend and I shared an order of 1 piece of fish and chips because we weren't too hungry, but wanted to make a pit stop for some fish and chips. Keep in mind that your order comes with an extra piece of fish! When we got our order, we were so glad we ordered just the 1 piece. The portions here are huge! The fish pieces were huge and it came with an big portion of fries, which is always appreciated. We took our box across the street and sat on a bench right in front of the water. It was the perfect setting for a perfect meal. The one thing is that you have to pay for tartar sauce, which is a bit disappointing considering that's something that ties your meal together. The fish wasn't too oily and had a good balance of batter to fish ratio. Overall would definitely come back for the food and the environment!

This place has been my go to place for Fish & Chips in White Rock for its quality & value for years. Mind you it is super busy on a sunny day. I went recently to order a take out. I was surprised the fish size shrunk. It used to be as long as their serving plate and now width of the fries tray? I'm not going to comment on the price as I understand everything gone up. The worst experience is that when I get the tray, all the fries are all over and are small ends. I feel like I got served a tray of prisoner meal. Is it because I didn't tip much? You know, there are other choices right next door & down the road that taste better. Think twice.

One of the locals told us we should go here and they weren't wrong! The fish and chips were great! We ordered the cod and when you order you get a free piece so there were 4 of us and we order two 2 piece (3 in each plate) and it was perfect! The batter on the fish was so good light and crispy . The fries were good but it was a bunch of short pieces my pet peeve

    Very generous portions.

Took a short day trip to White Rock, BC. John really needed out of the house with our gloomy weather and hasn't been to White Rock yet. We ate at Moby Dick's which has really clean inside seating. The meal was phenomenal. All orders come with an extra fish, so I recommend ordering 1 piece of fish because you'll get two and they are ginormous! Trying to eat 3 pieces is way too much!! The fish is incredibly fresh and the beer batter is perfectly crisp. Order the medium tartar sauce because the large one is WAY to much unless you have like a party of 4. Then order poutine to share. It's a very large order, we couldn't finish it and the fries and gravy are made in house. Best poutine I've ever had. John said he would definitely like to come back. The service was spectacular!

We were awfully greedy for two people, so we bought 5-pieces of fish and chips. It was delicious but we felt it could use more salt. The fish was crispy and moist though we felt like it must have been cooked when it was still frozen; as some bits were tougher than usual to bite. Regardless, the portion was generous and overall, it was delicious. Will definitely buy it again when we feel like fish and chips. The service was fabulous. Love how generous they are with everything. Their special touch, i.e. an extra piece of fish is so special; I have zero complaints.

Wonder if Ahab would eat here...?

Cute little place near the White Rock marina. Our server was very friendly, the simple walls of brick and wood were adorned with interesting kitsch, including a map asking where you come from (so I guess they must get a lot of visitors). Food was good. Try the tzatziki instead of tartar sauce; it's on the house and it's a lighter alternative. I didn't get a chance to try the clam chowder, which I regret. But everything else was delicious.

The South Surrey location in Grandview Corners is the first outlet to bring the chain to BC! The photos tell you how scrumptious the sandwiches/burgers were! You will go here, eat the food, and love it. I tried the Classic grilled cheese Melt! It's the best grilled cheese place in the entire city. Honestly, I never thought grilled cheese could be this amazing. The chef has perfected the art of grilled cheese. Their grilled cheese sandwiches are next-level perfectly crispy, oozy, and loaded with flavour. The cheese pull was unreal. Literally the perfect grilled cheese - crisp buttery toasted finish, amazing cheese pull, and scrumptious fresh ingredients. Add the tomato soup on the side and you've got a proper comfort food combo that actually delivers on taste. With the tomato sauce, the combo felt indulgent in the best way possible. Each sandwich tastes like it was scientifically engineered and developed over years to be as delicious as possible. Everything was tasty, but the ultimate burger really stood out--it was juicy, flavourful, and made with high-quality ingredients. The ultimate burger was quite possibly the best burger I've ever ate in my life. It's not easy to impress me with a burger, but they absolutely nailed it. The Ultimate Burger hit every mark! It's just on another level. The ultimate burger is exactly what you want it to be...juicy, flavourful, and cooked just right. Even after finishing the burger/grilled cheese, we felt an immediate craving for another! The combination of the flavours were perfect, that left me wanting more after I was done my meal. The chicken tenders are exactly what you expect but boy does the flavour deliver. The Oreo milkshake was straight-up addictive. Their commitment to quality shines through. What really stood out was the owner. I want to give a special shout out to Manpreet for his amazing customer service at the highest level. He's friendly, welcoming, and makes you feel valued as a customer. It's rare to find a place where hospitality feels effortless, but this restaurant has mastered it. The service made the experience even better. The owner was incredibly warm and welcoming -- you can feel the hospitality the moment you walk in. You can tell he genuinely cares about the people who come in. The owner has a cool, friendly approach and genuinely makes sure you're enjoying your food and that the quality meets your expectations. He took the time to chat with customers, which made the whole experience feel personal and authentic. You can tell they care about quality here--from the ingredients to the presentation to the service. This wasn't just a meal--it was an experience that left us feeling valued and delighted from start to finish. There really is no other place like this in our area that delivers with this level of care not only to customer service but the quality of food as well. I love how inclusive they are as they provide halal, vegan, and gluten-free options - something for everyone! Fresh ingredients, quick service, and friendly staff make every visit satisfying and memorable. You know you've eaten something made with quality ingredients when you leave feeling healthy, full, and satisfied, not weighed down. We left no crumbs! Can't wait to go back already and we just left!
