I came here for a takeout chippy meal on a Sunday evening. It was fairly quiet with a couple of tables of diners and a couple of people getting take out. I was served quickly and politely. I ordered some cod n chips, clam chowder, beef pie and a battered sausage. The cod were quite small pieces, very greasy and needed a crispen up on the air fryer once I got home (as did the chips). The battered sausage was especially greasy and quite salty. The greasy and the salt combined to make it a pretty awful experience! The chips were proper Brit style chip shop chips and not the more usual North American style fries, which I appreciated. The clam chowder was just ok. Nothing offensive except that if you were in the waiting area when they prepared it, then you'd see that it was heated up with a microwave. The meal was served with delicious tartare sauce and a small coleslaw. Price was ok. Not cheap but not expensive for what you get. All in all, not bad but could definitely be better. read more

Took a drive down to Tsawassen Mills and popped in for some fish and chips. Can't go wrong with $18.99 All You Can Eat. The batter was not heavy but crispy. The fish was so soft and pillowy. The fries had a nice snap, they must have been double fried. read more

The inside of the restraunt has not changed since I was last there. I found the service a little slow. The waitress was new and attentive while taking our order. Sadly she messed up our orders. As an appt we ordered the battered zoo sticks. They came battered and were quite tasty. I had the single piece halibut dinner which comes with fries and coleslaw. The halibut was very good but the fries had been sitting out for a while so they were not hot, just warm at best. My partner ordered the dinner battered prawns which was to come with 10 prawns. They were given the half order of only 5. They were battered a little too heavy. Steak and mushroom pie was very good. The last meal ordered was the full dinner prawns and fries with coleslaw. They did forget the order completely. The fries were done exactly how they were ordered; extra crispy in a large plate. Coleslaw came in a small bowl. We were almost finished when they finally brought the prawns. To be fair the meal was free. All in all we will not be going back again. read more

I went here for lunch before heading to Tsawassen Mills. I was always curious of this restaurant it was worth it. I chose 1 haddock with chips ($13.95) it was tasty. 1 big piece of haddock, lots of fries with coleslaw on the side. Portion was big for 1 person. I have seen on social media that this place had great fish so I had to try it . Staff was friendly, restaurant was open and almost cafeteria styled ( not what I expected from the name and food style ) not even close to what an English fish and chips place would look like in England. I ordered one piece of salmon . It came perfectly cooked and with a nice portion of coleslaw. The restaurant design and expectations were a miss but the food was amazing ! The Music playing was a mix of different artists none being fitting for the restaurant style ( m and m song played with every other word being FU_k completely inappropriate) I will come here again because the food was great but I sure wish they could improve on the ambulance. read more

Ambiance fine, English style decor. Service was good, not outstanding, but acceptable for sure. As for fish and chips, my reaction was middle of the road. Heavy coating (I personally prefer light or Panko style), and slightly greasy. Fish itself was solid, firm white Cod. Portions Ok, not the most generous, but acceptable. Great addition to this open Mall in Sunny Tsawwassen, this location used to be one of our regular Nando's but due to some unknown reasons, it was closed down when the lockdown was about to start. Passed by a few time and noticed the new signage was put up and a new Fish & Chip shop will be the new occupant, looking forward to have a proper sit-down restaurant in this part of town. Was impressed with the staff's friendliness and they follow Covid protocol and Vaccination Passport Check-in! Food is ok, not the kind that will give you the "Wow"! Our Haddock was moist and tasted good, but I find the house made Tartar sauce to be too tangy and lacks the creaminess, also the squeeze bottle may not be the best dispenser for this sauce as all the relish, onions etc. were all trapped and you only get the sauce part without the crunchy bits! Shrimp had good flavour and the serving was quite generous. The fish was beautifully crispy on the outside but lacked flavour and was not tender on the inside. We were in the area and decided to stop by this restaurant for lunch. We were seated right away. Water and menus dropped off. I ended up ordering their daily special - one piece haddock meal for $10.95. We also ordered a two piece halibut with a Caesar salad meal and Kid's chicken nuggets meal. Food arrived quickly as the restaurant had just opened and we were the first customers. They had forgotten to substitute the salad. We decided to leave the meal as is. There was a generous portion of fries. The coleslaw salad was pretty good. The fish has a light coating of batter and fried nicely. We had a huge bottle of tartar sauce and ketchup to use. Service was good for the most part. Staff stopped by three times to check up on us. The only hiccup was the Caesar salad mix up. The kids meals were very affordable for the amount of food. Summary: will definitely go back for Fish & Chips, and sausages! Pros: clean, spacious, nice decor, friendly staff, timely service, good prices, fresh and hot food, plentiful servings and condiments, light batter on the fish, decent alcoholic beverage selection (beer, wine, cider) as well as non-alcoholic (pop, juice, tea, coffee including decaf!). Cons: the halibut, while plentiful, moist and fresh, could use some seasoning (more than just adding S&P or tartar sauce at the table). The fish by itself was surprisingly bland (uncommon for halibut in our experience). We had 1 piece haddock & chips, 1 piece halibut & chips plus a plain sausage (always looking for a great English sausage, and this one was pretty darn good). read more

Always interested in finding new bites and the Tsawwassen area is a little sparse so wanted to check this out since it replaced the Nando's that used to be my go to. Good 1. Service was friendly and I was quickly greeted, order taken and served. 2. Lots of parking 3. The Tartar sauce I liked a lot. The OK 1. fries were solid but a little bland 2. I got the Halibut meal and the halibut was really hard and small. But it was tasty. I think next time I will just get the cod if want to try something fresher. The Bad 1. The coleslaw was inedible and warm. 2. I think if you want to be a "chippy" you have to make it order at the counter and have it fast casual. The seat yourself and get waited on is probably not ideal for this concept and the bang for the buck. With Drink and tip it was $25 CAD which is a smidge high. The location was already built for fast casual with the Nando's layout and could be more customer friendly and efficient instead of diner style.
