The people who work there are idiots! I ordered a Cheese Burger with toppings but they missed putting on the A-1 sauce. After I mentioned, make sure there is A-1 sauce. While I was eating my Cheese Burger, one of the employee's asked to move my feet so she could clean underneath the table. Really? I complained to the manager and all he could say was " ok? Ordered two burgers, one with bacon and one without. When I got home I found I had no bacon on either. Also, standing around for 15 minutes watching the kids work at such a pace, I can almost understand why I had no bacon. It seems cruel to have workers working as that pace. Five Guys is an awesome place to grab a bite. The free peanuts are excellent, and the burgers are amazing, even in all their greasy goodness. The pricing is competitive, and you can really customize your burger with just about anything you want. My personal choice is a double burger with mushrooms, bacon, and barbecue sauce. My family/friends and I have debated which is the best burger chain between In-N-Out, Nation's, and Five Guys. I go to all three Pleasant Hill locations from time to time and enjoy all three. The food at Five Guys is great, today I had a cheeseburger and side of fries for $11. For me, this is a few bucks more than what I would pay at In-N-Out or Nations for a similar meal. I still go here from time to time because I like the food but am more inclined to frequent the other places because of the cost. read more

It was a bad idea to go here. We walked in around 9:30pm, and the 2 idiots working there were shouting and laughing, while the new girl was doing all of the work. I had to wait 2 minutes for them to even recognize that I was there, even though there was only 3 other customers in the whole restaurant. The idiot working the register was wiping his nose with his hands every 30 seconds. He never washed his hands the whole time I was there! I ordered a cheese hot dog, which took 15 minutes for them to make. When they finally had it ready, it had no cheese, and the guy kept wiping his nose and handling the food. I politely asked for my money back, and then got out of there before I threw up. I am not a germaphobe, but this place is very unsanitary. The owner apparently doesn't care, as long as he keeps making money. read more

Overall good burgers, but this particular location seems to be going downhill fast. I was there at about 8pm on Sunday, 10/11/15. I ordered one burger with five toppings and some fries and took it to go. I waited patiently as the staff prepared my food while complaining about someone (I think the name was Ryan). I was given a bag with a foil-wrapped burger and a bunch of fries and headed home. Once I got home and unwrapped the foil, I found out THEY DIDN'T INCLUDE A PATTY! They also missed two of the ingredients! I seriously only got burger buns with a few toppings. Unfortunately for me I was too far away to drive back and complain over a $5 burger. There are too many other good burger places in the area to waste time at this location again. Hopefully they can get some new management in to clean that place up. read more

This is perhaps my favorite burger place at the moment. Couple of items to note, their menu isn't that big, only a couple of different items, but the number of toppings available can be a little overwhelming. It should be noted their regular burger comes with two patties, unless you order the "Little" burger, which probably should be the default, because it comes with one patty. They also have grilled hot dogs, grilled cheese sandwhich and a veggie sandwhich. Fries are like In N Out, in that they're made to order from the potato. Unfortunately I'm neither a fan of In N Out's fries or Five Guys fries. I guess I'm used to the processed stuff. They do give you a lot of fries-- the small order is enough for two people, so if you order a large fry, bring a BIG appetite, because you'll get a lot of them. It should be noted they offer free peanuts, which you serve yourself. This is what normally have instead of the fries. In that respect, it's like Fuddruckers. They have a serve yourself drink bar with Coke products Dinning is a little cramped if you eat inside. The staff keeps the place clean and seem to always been cleaning every time I visit. All items are made to go whether you eat there or take it to go. Burgers/Hotdogs/Sandwiches are wrapped in tin foil and placed into a brown bag. If you order fries, more than likely your tin foiled wrapped food will be swimming in fries. The bag absorbs the grease from the fries which isn't the most appealling thing in the world, but certainly not the end of the world either. If I had one quip, is that the tinfoil causes the bun of the burger or hotdog to become a little smashed-- it's like your mom packed a lunch for you hours ago, however this is completely fresh, off the grill. In fact I'd almost equate Five Guys to eating something that tastes like it has been grilled on a BBQ. All in all it's great food, which by the way is a little pricey, but worth it. read more

First, if you have a peanut allergy, you might just cross this chain off your list. Second, this place makes a great burger. It begs a comparison to In-N-Out of course, but I get a different experience, here. The patties are big. There's bacon and other fixings that In-N-Out doesn't have. NOT AGAIN Went for a quick lunch, just the two of us. The order of burgers and fries came in a brown bag, thought may be the guy on the counter misunderstood us for a take out. No sir, every order we saw was coming out in a brown bag. Well - took out the burgers and fries out of the oil-dripping bag, over salty fries, too huge order, half of it was wasted. The meat in the burgers was breaking loose as we were eating. The customer service was poor, no smile, no thank you. The food was terrible. Go to In-N-Out, you see smiling staff, the food is served in a tray not a brown bag. The funny thing is they even have a tip jar on the counter. Me'h. Surprised this place is so hyped. It's better than McD's but beyond that, not much to recommend it. At 3 times the price of In & Out, it doesn't compare because it should at least be twice as good - the main problem is the burger is bland and has zero taste - maybe they expect the condiments and fixings to cover that up - and while if you just ate an In & Out meat by itself, it might not be all that great but at least you're not pay 3X ... though admitedly you do get extra choices that In-Out doesn't offer but if anything, why not just go one block to nation's - not even as good as the Bay area old school burger joint ... so not horrible and if you're standing in front of the place - it's perfectly acceptable but I would never go there again on purpose. Fatburger was in the same location, guess that's two strikes for an $11 burger joint on that corner. Five Guys is a very specific kind of burger, it's made with real ground beef and cooked to order. It has a specific taste and flavor, you'll either love it or it won't appeal to you at all. Personally, I love it. The burgers have a very cooked-at-home feel to them and they're pretty big. As well, when you order fries, they basically just pour a ton of fries into a bag and hand it to you. One order of fries is enough for two people (or more), so don't bother ordering more than one. I found it to be pricey for what you get. Comparable to in-n-out as far as quality and ambiance. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Three burgers with sodas and 2 orders of fries came to $44. I would expect to pay that in a full-service restaurant, but this is fast food. read more
