One of the last remaining classic burger joints, the last Fuddruckers in California continues to serve up amazing burgers for a great price. You're able to pick from a 1/3 lb patty all the way to the famous 1 lb burger. The bun in particular is excellent as it is slightly larger than the patty so as you eat things don't fall out. Additionally, it's toasted on the bottom but still mains its shape so it doesn't get soggy like In-n-out burgers. Walking into this one was like a slice of Americana, with elaborate wooden decor, high ceilings, fresh made cookies to go with the ice cream counter, and quite the variety of burgers available. Deeper in the (quite large) restaurant was a condiment bar, the crazy multiple flavor soda machines, and an arcade. Much more elaborate than I remembered! Appearance can be deceiving. My youngest son wanted to try Fuddruckers while we were are at Concord buying his conditioning shoes for basketball. At first I hesitant because my wife was making burgers for dinner but as we step out of the car we can smell the amazing aromas coming from Fuddruckers. We both looked at each other and said yup we have to try this place. The people were nice. I asked the cashier what she would recommend because this is our first time there and we went with her suggestion.. first off the place looks great, the staff are friendly, ice cream is good, and the grilled onions was great. And also I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to burgers and when their motto says worlds greatest burger I really hoped that they could live up to their expectations. Soooo the patty itself was really bad I forced myself to eat it because I didn't want my kid to feel bad for suggesting the place, the fries were over seasoned ( we didnt even eat a 1/4 / 1/3 of it and we LOVE fries ), and usually my kid can devour a meal or 2 during one sitting because he has a high metabolism because he trains every day and he can eat but he didn't even eat half the burger because how bad it was. And now the worst part is right after we ate there my stomach did NOT agree in what I ate and it never does this when I eat a burger. Food: various burgers (beef, bison, ostrich, elk, etc), fries, onion rings, frings which is a mix of fries and onion rings, salads, hotdogs, and more. You can pick your size Patty 1/3, 1/4 Patty and so forth., milkshakes, ice cream and cookies. Inside atmosphere: there's plenty of seating, upstairs is a banquet area for rental, a little arcade area near the back. Overall experience: once you get your burger there's a station in the middle of the establishment where you add your lettuce, onion, etc and grab condiments, they even have hot jalapeño cheddar and regular hot cheddar (good to dip fries in, or get creative with it). Service is hard to judge as you basically place your order at the kiosk, someone has you your receipt then you wait for your name to be called. Not too much interaction with the staff. Are you kidding me ! Were they used to ground their own beef there was a bunch of patties sitting out in cryovac plastic wrap thawing out. Nooo Noooo ! Yet it says on the window we grind our own beef no wonder Fuddruckers is doing so bad and has closed so many places down because it's lost its identity that so many of us grew up with. After seeing those ground beef Patty's fine from being frozen. And then looking at the condiments where you get your own lettuce and stuff to put on the burgers we were just like no no no. For the last Fuddruckers in California, I bestow 4 stars.... Because you're not the best burger, but you hit a nostalgia factor that only few places can. This is about $15-$20/pp burger spot, with a few other exotic options(Buffalo, Elk, Ostrich), a chicken burger, and Beyond option. They also have kids items like their hot dogs, chicken tenders and grilled cheese etc. Self serve fountain, condiments, and veggies/sides. Something about their relish too that is really really good. Fresh Brioche style buns are delicious every time. Now. Why I love it so much? That Nacho Cheese. Unlimited. I could bath in it. Though to be fair, it seems to be lacking a bit of flavor recently. I haven't been to fuddruckers since forever! Super glad to see that the concord location is still open. This burger place is definitely nostalgic, as I grew up going to the Emeryville location. There is a self order kiosk right at the entrance, or you can order at the register. We ordered the buffalo with grilled onions and mushrooms and turkey burger with grilled onions. The fresh veggies were are clean and stocked! You can ask for tomatoes when you get your order. I really enjoyed how juicy the burgers were. They were super tasty, and brought back so many great memories. It is a bit pricey (paid about 40 dollars). And the fries were a bit cold. Fuddruckers is still one of the burger spots I like to patronize when I'm visiting family in the Bay Area. Sadly there isn't any other Fuddruckers in California, so I have to get my fill when I'm in town. Their burgers have always been on point with us. Their You can either order on the self-ordering kiosk or at the cashier. We chose the cashier as we were a large group. If its busy, its easier to just go to the self ordering kiosk though. I absolutely love their big, fluffy buns made in house. Love them enough, I bought some to bring back on my trek home. The burgers can be ordered at 1/3 lb, 1/2 lb, 2/3 and even a pound! Also not only do they have regular beef burgers, they also sell ostrich, elk, beyond burgers and more. A nice little variety for everyone! We always order their combos which comes with a drink and your choice of fries or you can change it. I like having their sweet potato fries along with my burger. Also, if you're putting your toppings on and notice there aren't tomatoes, walk up to the pick up area and they usually have them there for you. This place is usually hoppin' on the weekends and nights so it can sometimes be difficult finding a table. I've been to this location a couple times in the past with no issues and the quality of the food has always been great. Sadly this experience this time did not meet our expectations. We paid extra for avocado on our burgers and what is pictured is what we received on only ONE burger. The other burger had no avocado that we paid extra for. When we went to ask for the avocado on the other burger, we were told that they accidentally put both of the avocado portions for each burger on this one burger. These slices of avocado were WAY too small to have been meant as one for each burger especially since we paid $2.75 extra for the avocado for each burger. The employee we talked to about this was also extremely rude and acted like it was rude of us to be upset about not receiving something we paid extra for. He then begrudgingly gave us the missing avocado for the other burger. We had gift cards and the staff had to call a number to confirm the amounts since they got a new system. It took about 20 min for this process. One of the last Fuddruckers in the Bay Area! I was so sad when they closed the Union city location a while back. Happy they still have one location still open. We always make a trip inside when we're nearby Concord. The meat is made delicious and to your liking. The quality of the hamburgers is like no other. Also I love that there is a bar you can add your own condiments. I always get the nacho cheese and extra lettuce. The staff is always cheerful and it's normally pretty packed inside. We've been coming here for every family member's birthday for over 40 years. And for all of my son's sports teams end of season celebrations. But not anymore! We've noticed a huge decline in quality & quantity. Today we reached our limit. The food, which has always been fabulous, was horrible. And why did it cost $60 for 3 people, especially when the amount of food (fries especially) has been drastically reduced?! And don't ask me for a tip for DOING YOUR JOB! But I am unable to Rate the Service here because you can simply Order from the Kiosk and later pick up your Food from the counter when they call your name. However, I do not understand why the Point of Sale Kiosk asked for a Tip? No-one came over to take my Food or Drink order. No-one served my drink because customers just walk up to the fountain drink dispenser to help themselves or brought me my food and last but not the least No-one came to check on me to see if I like the food, refill my drinks. What are we Tipping for? To supplement the employees wages perhaps. But it is not the customer's responsibility. The employees should work it out with the owner of the restaurant. I can clearly see the Staff are working very hard behind the scenes to ensure customers receive good quality meal. The nostalgia is all there... things look pretty how I remembered them (we don't head out to concord often). Food was great. Picky kids liked the chicken tenders... the big kid wasn't a fan of the hot dog (she didn't like the cuts on it... adults thought it was great).... And you can go wrong with the cheese dips! It was popping in there on a Saturday night (in the past we always went weekdays during lunch time I'd say). Quick tip, the burgers come plain and they have a bar for toppings, however if you want tomatoes you need to ask the staff. Food (4.3/5): I've been to other Fuddruckers locations growing up, but unfortunately the only one left in the Bay Area is the Concord location. I like the exotic burger aspect where in addition to beef you could choose elk, buffalo, and ostrich. It seems like ostrich is only available in the winter now though. Last time I went, I had an elk burger with southwest toppings. I enjoy that there is a burger dressing bar where you can load as many toppings and veggies as you'd like. There's even jalapeño melted cheese which is uncommon and nostalgic. The food quality hasn't seemed to change, the burgers are pretty good and would recommend trying especially for the novelty aspect. Service (4/5): You can order in a line with a person or from a kiosk. After ordering, they call for your name and you pick up the food. You help yourself with water and as many vegetable toppings as your heart desires. Ambiance (4.3/5): The interior wooden decor and music playing gave southern vibes. The establishment is large. Good seasoning, a little soggy. I forgot to ask for extra crispy. Still have the cheese sauce to dip them in! Produce bar was weak. Dried out white onions. Only white leaves of iceberg lettuce. No tomatoes. Lots of flavors in the soda machine. I'm not a soda drinker but every once in a while.... $20 for the combo. Not much in the way of service. Order at iPad and then pick up food at counter when they call you. I think I filled the nostalgia bucket. Maybe will go back in another few decades if they are still around. read more

I regret coming here. The sauce containers were empty and honestly pretty gross. The topping bar was neglected and completely out of tomatoes. When I went to the pickup counter to let them know, I was told they'd put some out "in a little bit." Only after it was clear I wasn't satisfied did he give me bring a few slices from the back. I was going to mention that the mayo was empty too, but at that point I was over it. There was nowhere to sit, not because it was busy, but because the tables were dirty and no one seemed to be cleaning or bussing anything. What makes it worse is that they have two tablets for ordering, so you'd think that would free up staff to keep the restaurant in decent shape. Instead, we ended up sitting at a table with a dirty tablecloth, which was just gross. Overall, a really disappointing experience. I used to go to the Sherman Oaks location regularly and it was never like this. It's unfortunate, but I can see why this is the last location left in California. Can't see this place staying open for much longer. We were there for about an hour.
