This is our go-to Hamburger joint that's replaced Steak N' Shake and Red Robin. I'm pretty sure that they go to the same magical place to get their staff that Jimmy Johns does: enthusiastic and helpful upper-teens and 20-Somethings who have great instincts on how to treat customers with kindness and respect. I've been to probably three of the Indy-area Five Guys locations and they never disappoint. Here's a pro tip - use the cardboard peanut trays as your ketchup trays for all the fries they will give you! There really isnt much bad that I can say about Five Guys. I love this place, because I love super unhealthy really large, flavorful burgers that clog my arteries like there's no tomorrow. The menu is simple, burger, cheeseburger, double burger or cheeseburger, add bacon or dont add bacon. Thats about it. Pick your toppings, add fries or cajun fries, and you're good to go. I always get the bacon double cheeseburger because lets be honest, as soon as i set foot in the door the healthy aspect goes out the window so why not get the worst item for you on the menu. The cajun fries are the best and they come in HUGE portions. All the burgers are handmade and you get to choose as many toppings as youd like for no extra charge. I have to tell ya. I was excited to get another food option near where I work on the Northwestside. I didn't wait long to head over to Five Guys, especially after I heard how good it was supposed to be. It wasn't. Talk about a lame menu. Burgers, fries and I think a hot dog. Not much else. I guess that wouldn't be bad if you were as decent as 96th Street Steakburger. But this place is NOT 96th Street. Not even close. I even thought it smelled a bit rank when I visited. Not a good thing. Smelled like the bathroom was backed up or something, which doesn't make for an appealing lunch break. Blah. A quick look just now at their Web site confirms it for me. Came here because of Obama himself! Actually the Obamas both really like 5 guys, so I wanted to check it out. It's the best food I had in Indy. They give LOTS of fries (mmm!) and there are sooo many toppings to pick from. I would definitely have to agree with Byron J. on this one (we seem to frequent many of the same locations)... I live about 2 miles from Five Guys and I rarely crave red meat, but when I do, I make an effort to have a burger...when Five Guys got to town, my hubby and I were very excited to give it a go. We've tried it on SEVERAL occasions. First of all, I know they make everything to order, but they are SLOW. This is kind of annoying when I just want to grab and go...SECOND, it is underwhelmingly decent but not a fantastic burger. When a place SPECIALIZES in one thing, I think it should be done PERFECT, every time, no exception. The one thing I do like about the burgers is the bacon. They do the bacon AWESOME. Everything else is just average, which is fairly disappointing considering it's ALL they do. I also think it's ironic that they BOAST about how fabulous they are on every wall. Too bad none of those are local. Maybe I'll check out a Five Guys in another city, but I would recommend Hardees over this joint and they are a LOT faster! read more

For burgers, this place gets a four star rating. The inside will remind you of an "In and Out Burger" or "Steak & Shake." But it sets itself apart. The fries are cooked in peanut oil and are the long type of fry with the skin on. The oil was fresh as the fries tasted "clean." The burgers were very juicy and had real cheese instead of that hydrogenated vegetable oil that most places use. I could have eaten two of these burgers but I'm trying to cut down a bit! This place is way better than Ruby Tuesdays or Chilis for burgers, but has more of a fast food type feel. The only downside was the bacon. It tasted like that precooked stuff you can buy in Costco. You know that website, This is Why You're Fat? I think Five Guys is probably the original culprit. Their burgers are pretty much pure meaty perfection on a lightly butter-toasted bun, and the fries are greasy heaven in your mouth. Throw the diet out the window when you walk in the door, and prepare to work out something serious the next morning, because you're here to enjoy yourself tonight. I find that it's best to go later at night instead of lunch, when it's usually always bananas. It's great for a last-minute take out dinner. Being a girl, and making a purely vain effort to drop a few pounds and maybe salvage my cholesterol in the process, I get the Little Cheeseburger, which is usually plenty for me, and I am not a small gal. My BF is not a small fella, and he get the Little Bacon Cheeseburger. One of these days, I'm going to skip lunch and get the Bacon Cheese Dog. He prefers the Cajun fries, and I like the Plain, and usually just a Regular is enough for two people. This is what I like most about Five Guys: it's extremely cost-effective. There really isn't anything I can say about Five Guys that hasn't been said before. Fresh beef, delicious burgers, mountains of fries. Every time we go there I tell myself I'm going to try one of their hot dogs but can't ever bring myself to because the burgers are so good. A hamburger or cheeseburger is actually two patties, so if you're looking for a single patty then you have to order the "Little" version. Get a regular order of fries and split it between two people. The guys working in there are always incredibly nice. This stuff is made-to-order right in front of you, and if they're busy your food can take up to 15 minutes to be ready, but hey, this isn't your standard fast-food burger. This is the real deal. My ONLY complaint about Five Guys is that they don't serve milkshakes. If I had a nice vanilla shake to go with my burger and fries...I'd probably be there every day. I love this place!! read more

This is supposed to be the In-N-Out of the Midwest, meh... I think I was just expecting a lot more since In-N-Out is what I had always heard as the comparison, but that doesn't even come close to true. As a Bi-Coastal resident of both Cali and Indy I am privileged to eaten at both places many times for many years, and Five guys, although a step up from McDonalds/Wendy's, is nothing more than just an average fast food burger joint. The fries are not anything worth writing home about, and the peanuts are kinda weird. I have been to this location many times and I have always had great service (that's what the 3 stars are for), and the food is fine, it just ain't no In-N-Out. But this is a good location for sure, they are clean, friendly, and fast! read more

Pretty good burgers, and some awesome fries that come in a paper bag that is a bit unwieldy. I usually get the bacon cheeseburger. Note that their normal cheeseburger is actually 2 stacked patties. Every time I go there, it's decently busy, so expect a wait time of about 15 minutes or so. Be careful though, as this place has an open kitchen, which means everyone is waddling around the place trying not to slip and fall on the grease that coats the floor. Your clothes will also smell like burger when you leave, which isn't a bad thing for some people, my dog loves it. I don't know if it's this location, but they blare 80's music from satellite radio so loud that it's hard to converse. It's kind of annoying. Side effect: I once had "Total Eclipse of the Heart" stuck in my head for two days straight after a recent visit. Excruciating. The best burger by far! I hear you either love them or hate them and I LOVE THEM! Fries are also good and they give you far more than you ask, so get the small and you will get extra thrown into the bag. Good or Bad? Okay I have never been to Five Guys before and this one blew it out of the park for my first time!! I had been having a day as it was, then my order got screwed up once I noticed I was home and half way through it. I called over and they offered the most amazing customer service and they said just write down who you're speaking to on the receipt and bring it in and we'll remake it. THIS BURGER WAS THE BOMB! Five Guys is my go to greasy cheat food in Indianapolis. Always so good. Get the Cajun fries, but if you're watching calories you'll end up tossing half of them: the "small" is still a decent sack full. Everyone at this location has been friendly, efficient, and accurate: half a dozen orders and never an incorrect one. Check out the new mobile app for order-ahead. They finish preparation when you arrive, so so far food has still been fresh and hot (though you will have to wait a few minutes as a result). read more

Very good, everyone is so friendly at this location, never messes up an order! Goes above and beyond to make the consumer happy. I asked the cashier if I could yell "2 PATTIES" and she was nice enough to allow it. Delicious food! This place by far has the best burger in town for fast food. The staff are cheery and keep the place clean. I like the stash of free peanuts that I can shell while waiting for my food. The best thing in the menu is the shakes., but the BLT comes close behind. There is something to be said for the perfect fry of French fries! The ladies that run this location are the bomb! Funny, sisterly, charm that run a tight ship. Clean facility and the best fries of all the Five Guys I've been to. The perfect fry for me is crisp on the outside, tender on the inside and leaves little oil residue in the bag. Great reputation. Sort of a diner look. You order at a counter and they yell out your number and give it to you in a sack. I ordered the Veggie Sandwich, thinking it was a veggie burger. I recently went just make a quick stop here to pick my husband up his dinner. Needless to say, it was a fairly enjoyable experience. The cooks, and the lady that took my order were very outgoing, talkative, and nice. I did not check my order before I left (which I normally do with carry out) but everything was there and my husband said that the food was fantastic. I have always bragged about 5 guys telling everyone-you must eat there. Well it's been 6-7 months and I gotta say save your money because it's awful now. We got our order to go-3 burgers with fries-not cheap and mine was made wrong and all 3 were so over cooked they were crunchy. I called the mgr and she didn't seem to care-no apologies but I'll give you're money back on one burger. What??!! Went to Five Guys with my family Saturday afternoon 4/13/18. The burgers and fries were great! A lady came in with a dog. I asked one of the staff if dogs are allowed and he said they would ask the manager. I also called and asked the same question and was told that if the lady had a service dog she would be allowed. This dog was NOT a service dog. If your policy is to let dogs in the restaurant, I will not EVER visit again. Dogs in restaurants are disgusting. Keep Fido at HOME!!! read more

Oh Five Guys. They're in the rare "I'm always in the mood" pantheon of fast food, where you could suggest it anytime and I'd be 100% okay with it. The burgers are good and delicious, the fries are crispy (and there's a lot of them!), and it's pretty fast. The only downside is that a burger, fries, and drink can cost nearly $10, which although worth it makes you think twice about stopping in more than every once in a while. read more

My review is biased since I don't eat meat, but I enjoyed the grilled veggie sandwich(basically a grilled cheese & whatever veggies you want- I get grilled onions & tomato, pickle, lettuce & mayo.) & peanut oil-cooked fries. Good option if you're vegetarian & just want something greasy & bad for you. As much as I love eating well, sometimes ya just need something nastily bad for you. They give you enough fries to feed several people & yeah, they have malt vinegar. Not a huge selection, but I guess that's their thing. Quality burgers for very reasonable prices. I am from California so I had no idea what to order and the cashier explained everything me. She was very helpful and and the end of our meal asked us how we liked our food. I ordered the bacon and cheese burger with mayo, tomato and lettuce. The meat is very tender and juicy. Five guys is always a solid choice in my opinion. This location is no dofferent. I have celiac disease and they are wonderful about cross contamination. I have never been glutened in the many times I've eaten at this location. I so appreciate being able to go to a normal fast food restaurant with my friends and being able to eat gluten free. It really makes a difference for me. Employees here are always friendly. Service is always reasonably fast. read more
