The best, fast burger around! I almost always order the little bacon cheeseburger. It's plenty of food for most adults, especially when you load it up with pickles, grilled onions, lettuce, tomatoes, etc! The fries are huge, so I only order them if I have someone to share them with. Both the regular and Cajun are delicious. The staff there are wonderful. I have been there at different times of day, and always been treated extremely well by the friendly cooks and cashiers. They will never add those piping hot fries to your bag until you are picking it up at the counter. If you can handle the calories, the milkshakes are fantastic. I order the chocolate with whipped cream, but there are many flavor options. The tables and floors are constantly kept clean. If I had to come up with a complaint it might be that they empty the trash a bit more often, and turn the volume down a little on the lame classic rock that's usually the afternoon staple. read more

Cheeseburger and fries were tasty. I gave it three stars because the french fries portions are oversized for just one person. They need to have a smaller serving for folks with normal size stomachs! A nice addition to the area. The food is awesome. They have two sizes of burgers, the regular burger which consists of two patties of fresh beef (more than a handful) and the little burger (not really that little: more about the size of a Whopper). I loved how on my receipt a little cheese burger was called an LCB, which reminded me of an LBD and how I should not be eating too many of these if I want to fit into mine. :) The fries were also nicely done. They are much thicker than typical fast food fries and quite flavorful. I love the variety of toppings, all of which are free. I topped my LCB with mushrooms, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato and mayo. Mmmm. The guy at the counter was very friendly and helpful and worked with me to navigate the menu. I disagree with the yelper who said the regular fries are enough for two people. After seeing the regular size in the store, I definitely thought we needed the large size for two. The large was sufficient and we had some left over, but we would have been wanting more with the regular. The only thing I did not like about this place was that the floor was very dirty. They really needed to sweep it more regularly. Otherwise, it's a welcome alternative to your typical fast feeders. read more

so i've heard alot of five guys burger and fries, today was my first time going since i work like literally down the street from it. It's pretty good food, got the bacon cheeseburger + cajun fries and drink. The patty was moist and cooked well, fries were eh...soggy and whatnot, but packed with cajun flavor and good seasoning, at one point i did inhale some cajun powder and couldn't stop coughing for about 30secs lol...fail...it definitely has more cajun flavoring for that spice compared to popeye's fries, even though those are crispy fries. definitely worth a try for at least the burgers and hotdogs. sucks for anyone to have peanut allergies since they use peanut oil for frying. read more

So we arrived at the place and mind you, to be brutally honest, I hadn't done any research of this place prior to our trek, so the preconceived expectation in my mind was that we would be arriving at some sit-down restaurant. Well, it technically IS a sit-down restaurant but for some reason, I was expecting it more to be like a TGIFriday's or an American Joe's Bar and Grill type not a McDonald's or Wendy's type. Surprise! Oh ok, oh well, that's just what the outside (and inside) looks like anyways, can't judge a book by its cover, so now since we're here, time to try the food to see how it really is. When we walked in, it was a bit overwhelming. Not overwhelmed with the amount of toppings we could add onto our burgers but overwhelmed with the amount of blown-up newspaper headlines, articles, and reviews from all around the country raving about this place. Ok, I thought, this could be a good sign. If so many people liked it, it has to be good right? When it was my turn to order, I only had two choices: burger or hot dog. Naturally since this was boasted as a burger joint, I went for a hamburger. Now, here comes one of the parts that makes Five Guys different from the other fast-food burger joints in town: the toppings in which you could put on your burgers. The amount of toppings you could put on is a good amount and the best part of it is, no extra charge for the toppings! Woo-frickin-hoo! Since I didn't want to think too much and itemize all my toppings individually, I decided to go for the "works" which means I went with all the toppings (well, except for mayo, cause I don't really like mayo). And I also ordered the regular fries too, since they were apparently famous for that as well. When my number was called and I picked up my order, I noticed my burger was cutely wrapped in aluminum foil ala Wendy's. Later I found out that this piece of foil is a necessity while eating the burger. So I unwrapped my burger and the initial view of it didn't look too appealing to me: the burger buns looked squished, probably due to the wrapping, and my burger was dripping and oozing, but that was probably due to the burger being mega-stacked with two beef patties instead of one as usual and my ordering of all the toppings... heh. Whatever, looks is not important here right, just as long as to how it tastes... So here goes, my first bite... Hmm... juicy. The hamburger patties are kinda juicy, compared to the dryness of the "meat" they use at some of the other fast-food chains. Five Guys boast that the beef patties that they use are "hand-patted," never frozen, and "fresh" -- but no, I couldn't hear the cows mooing at the slaughterhouse in the back. Anyways, the burger wasn't too bad. With each bite, I could taste every topping and since I ordered every topping, how could I not have taste them, unless my tongue and taste buds weren't working. And with each bite, all the toppings begin to try to ooze out and slide off my burger. Here is where I found the foil to be useful. If you're going to order the "mega-stacked" burger, then I recommend you to eat it with two hands, unwrap half of the foil, and eat it from the top down so that all the toppings don't automatically drip into your lap. In less than 5 minutes, my burger was entirely engulfed into my stomach. Nom nom nom! Despite what people say about the fries, however, I wasn't too fond of them. First of all, my fries came out to be kinda... limp. That could be I had my fries sitting in my brown paper bag until I finished my burger and the condensation could have made them soggy, but I don't believe I was the only one who had this problem. But Five Guys boast that their fries are made from fresh-cut potatoes with no cholesterol and with... ALLERGEN ALERT! 100% PEANUT OIL! Yes, so if you or your kids have peanut allergies, you have been warned. They fry their fries in peanut oil. And they also have boxes have real peanuts all over the place, for other patrons' enjoyment if they should choose, ala Texas Roadhouse. Anyways... I like my fries to be kinda crispy ala Wendy's so I wasn't a big fan of them. Don't get me wrong: I love the big, thick, wedge-shaped, "hand-cut" fries too but just not from here. A little later, we had ordered the cajun fries just to see how those tasted and although they were still a bit limp to my tastes, these were inherently much better than the regular fries, probably in part cause they had more of a kick to them, in flavor. So if you were to get the fries, then I would recommend the cajun-style ones. read more

As a connoisseur of all things carnivore, Five Guys Burger and Fries gets the 5 star rating. A chain that started up down south, they have finally made their way up to Massachusetts. While I loath chains in general, there is something about this Anti-McDonalds chain I do love. Whether it is a the no-frills fresh burgers, to the fresh cut fries, or the fact it isn't gimmicky its a pleasure. if you're looking for something that is over-the-top burger joint with flair... Not the best place I have ever been...peanut shells and peanuts all over the floors and tables, long lines..anyone with a Peanut allergy better steer clear of this place....with all the Peanut allergies out there I am surprised this place isn't more in tune with that fact....My husband likes the burgers and fries, but also says he has had better....I am a HUGE fan of Smashburger, and also In and Out burger...much better IMO. read more

I am a fan of this chain which has flavorful, juicy burger and great fried. Plus you can shell and eat peanuts (complimentary) while your wait for your burger. It was the best burger I had in the area (including Smokey Bones). The place was relatively empty, which is not the case at other locations. My only wish - they served beer. read more

Great burger and fries considering their price. Not the best in the world, but decently good and again for the price can't ask for more. Only downside is the cheese, tasted like crappy kraft cheese from the supermarket. Next time I'm getting w/o the cheese. Fries are good too. A very good chain IMO. Stopped by this afternoon and it was oddly quiet in there until I got in the line and the masses arrived. Ordered cajun fries, soda, and of course a bacon burger. The fries were not greasy and were decently seasoned though I would have liked more of a crunch or crisp to them. The soda, they have vault! Oh, the nostalgia kicks in. And the burger was slightly greasy but it did not bother me because it was good tasting grease unlike a burger from wendys, bk, and mcd. The bacon on the burger was crisp the burger was juicy and flavorful. this was probably one of the best burgers I've had at a chain restaurant. Two thumbs up for these guys read more

My girlfriend and I were starving on our way to BJ's and made a stop here after hearing good things. She was in the mood for a "spicy burger" and that got me wanting the same. Unfortunately they had no 'spiced' or cajun style burger... so we got jalapeno peppers for a topping instead. The burgers were really just ok. Certainly much better than McDonalds or Burger King. - it was real meat anyway. If you are craving 'fast food' I'd recommend this place over the others. The fries weren't bad either. Location: A bummer that its not accessible from Boston but not really their fault. Lucky for me I have a sister that drives! Atmosphere: PACKED! PACKED! PACKED! I went on a Friday night so perhaps thats why it was so crowded. I loved that everyone and their mom was there. The open kitchen was definitely cool. Price: Purddyy cheap! The "make-your-own-burger" is a cool idea but kind of gave me anxiety because there were so many choices. Taste: VERY SOFT! The meat literally melted in my mouth! I equate it to cheap generic white bread that has so many additives in it that its pretty much a twinkie (sorry all you twinkie lovers). The bun was too easy to smash and with the already soft patty, it was a very mushy experience. With all the rave about Five Guys, I thought I'd have a similar experience to In-n-out. I mean, isn't it supposed to be the In-n-out of the East because of their fresh ingredients? Perhaps I was misinformed.... At last I got to try FGB&F this past Sat. Well, All I can say is they make the best burger on planet earth. I got the Bacon Cheeseburger with fries. It was so good. Plus the service was amazing. The staff is quick to order and are really friendly. So do yourself a favor and get a burger here. So, so good. I think I will get a burger for lunch tomorrow. It's a darn good burger! It's nothing special, but it tastes fresh and well prepared. The fries are nice and fresh and that makes a huge difference to me. Fresh food really does shine through and is worth the extra few dollars. For a fast food burger, I'm not sure if it gets much better. Good thing they are in that annoying shopping plaza to get into and they don't have a drive through on route 9, otherwise I would eat there too much, but I've only been once because I hate the location. read more

Five Guys has pretty good burgers and fries. Overall, I like the fact that I can get all the toppings I love on it. The cajun fries are pretty good and much better than their regular fries. The portion size is huge even for the regular size! My girlfriend and I share the regular sized fries and we still end up with leftovers! One thing to note is about their online orders. We ordered and paid online for a pickup, but when we got there we still had to wait in line for the cashier to look up the order. So what's the point of ordering in advance? You're better off just ordering in the store lol. Five Guys is definitely a great place to get delicious burgers and fries. So addictive! Great food just like all other five guys! They have a great staff too. They messed gave us regular fried instead of cajun and fixed and gave extra too. They also added onions and remade the burger. Five Guys Burgers and Fries is amazing. I've been to this location numerous times, despite living in Cambridge. It usually takes 30-45 min to pick up my friends and get there, and it's worth it every time. Sure, Four Burgers is right there and it's good, same with UBurger. But they don't compare (Mr. Bartley's is close, but different). I went Monday night and round trip it was nearly 4 hours (we got lost). Still worth it! Last time I had a two-patty (listed on the menu as "Hamburger") with lettuce, tomato, green peppers, and A-1 sauce with regular fries and cherry Coke. Amazing! Had the cajun fries once, they were good too. You get bonus fries. They put the cup of fries in the bag, and then add more. Very exciting. Free peanuts are also pretty exciting. First time at this restaurant or any Five Guys. Nothing special. They advertise the burgers as "Well done and juicy". They got that half right -- well done, dried out, and tasteless. I started eating at Five Guys in D.C. and was excited when they started coming to the Boston area. You can't compare Five Guys to McDonalds or Burger king. Five Guys is the Panera, Chipotle, or Baja Fresh of Burgers. The service is fast and friendly. The toppings, peanuts, and drink refills are all free. With burgers, hot dogs, grilled cheeses, and great fries you are definitely going to leave full and for a decent price. I'm not burgers and fries are ever going to be considered a healthy meal but Five Guys does what they can by cooking their fries in peanut oil and all their products are trans-fat free. Yummmmmy burgers- we all know that. The fries have gone down in portion size and quality while they went up in price. When they first opened, they were 5-star quality, and intentionally overloaded the bag with them. I only got them once in a while because I try to be good. 5 guys is good, and although not spectacular by any means they get the 4th star from me due to consistency, I really hate when I go to a restaurant and its sometimes great, sometimes terrible. I survive on Burgers. I could eat them everyday. Went to the Dedham store 2 weeks ago, even though it was an hour drive. Very good, food was excelent, store was clean. I couldnt belive the line. Service was also very good. Recently went to the Mystic Ct, store and this weekend were going to check out the Foxboro store. I have only eaten wendys 3 times and I cant figure everyone likes it. We found 5 guys on a trip to Charlotte, NC. They are the next best thing to In and Out Burger, which will never be on the east coast. Best burger I have ever had in my life. Staff is great. Store is clean (inside and out). You can not beat the price and even if you can nothing can beat the cajun fries, NOTHING. I also love the hot dogs, which they are less known for, but if you want to try something incredible try a hot dog. My favorite burger, little bacon cheese burger with lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mayo, jalapenos, and BBQ sauce.
