Thought I'd give this place a try again after a few years, and I can see why I haven't been back. First of all, the pricing is beyond absurd! Ordered a large clam strips 0/10 It was a large portion but they were extremely soggy and rubbery, could barely chew them. I did call and make them aware and they advised I had to come back to either get it remade or get something else instead. I would've preferred my money back because my replacement wasn't any better Pepperoni pizza 4/10 Had a good amount of toppings but the bottom was completely soggy and falling apart Steak combo 5/10 It was okay but the bread was overly toasted and there wasn't much meat for the price point Fried dough 8/10 It's really good but not worth the price for the portion size and I'd wish they'd break up the powdered sugar instead of throwing giant rocks in the box. French fries 6/10 They're French fries. Nothing to call home about Cheesecake 6/10 Good sized slice but not a fan of the fake strawberry glaze on it Grilled chicken Salad 5/10 Portion size is good but mainly lettuce and not the other toppings and the grilled chicken just tasted of char. No other flavor The place looks completely run down outside and the woman at the windows attitude matched, however, the man on the phone was really nice and accommodating. It's hard not to love Simco's. The place has probably been there 100 years now. Order from outside fight to hear the person inside they fight to hear you. The food is always great, but don't expect much more than relatively fast takeout. However, that said there is a personal touch to the food. The attendants are always friendlyand if you're in the area, definitely make a stop. read more

Seafood is good but at times the fish is not the best and tastes old. They were famous for there hot dogs but no longer are they the best as they don't taste like all beef and are a bit rubbery. I used to go to Simco's quite a few years back with my dad as he worked in Readville, and have many fond memories of sharing a dog or two with him at this place. So, it has been years since my last visit to Simco's and recently, I was in the area after a night of hockey and stopped by for a late night snack. I hate to say this but, it is not the Simco's I remember. I ordered two dogs, and I don't mind paying a little extra for a quality dog, but these dogs were a bit "greasy" and tasted "old" if you know what I mean. The buns were a little beat, wrapped (more like crushed) in foil and overall, the dogs did not look overly appealing. I was not overly impressed with the food or the prices.
