I would've preferred my money back because my replacement wasn't any better Pepperoni pizza 4/10 Had a good amount of toppings but the bottom was completely soggy and falling apart Steak combo 5/10 It was okay but the bread was overly toasted and there wasn't much meat for the price point Fried dough 8/10 It's really good but not worth the price for the portion size and I'd wish they'd break up the powdered sugar instead of throwing giant rocks in the box. I used to go to Simco's quite a few years back with my dad as he worked in Readville, and have many fond memories of sharing a dog or two with him at this place. So, it has been years since my last visit to Simco's and recently, I was in the area after a night of hockey and stopped by for a late night snack. I hate to say this but, it is not the Simco's I remember. I ordered two dogs, and I don't mind paying a little extra for a quality dog, but these dogs were a bit "greasy" and tasted "old" if you know what I mean. The buns were a little beat, wrapped (more like crushed) in foil and overall, the dogs did not look overly appealing. I was not overly impressed with the food or the prices. I ordered the combination seafood plate (shrimp/clam strips) and rib box. For $43 I was extremely unimpressed. They give you a lot of food, but honestly, I would prefer quality over quantity. The shrimp was not cleaned at all. Also, the shrimp was super rubbery. It was as if the shrimp was precooked before fried. Yes, it may cost Simco's a few more dollars to get deveined shrimp, but for the price point, it really shouldn't hurt their profit. The ribs was soooo dry. They also used a very little bit of BBQ sauce. I don't like normally like a lot of sauce but if you are going to give dry ribs, you need to up the sauce. Or, just make sure they are tender ribs. The strips were ok. Not enough for me to go back. I really enjoy supporting the local community right now, but it's hard to see awesome places close and then Simco's not out their best foot forward. read more
