As the Generation Z calls it, this place is a big "buss"! no cap. LOL This is one of those "limited edition" places where after 3:30pm you missed out on life because they're closed. I had a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich from them today and oh man, they don't play. They added 2 eggs, extra cheese and extra bacon for an affordable price. Usually my boyfriend and I get their steak and cheese subs which is 100/10! I definitely recommend this place if you have never tried it. Remember to go before 3 :-) I ain't even mad they close early. They deserve the rest after all that hard work put in!

Ideal Sub Shop is a local favorite in the neighborhood. Their sandwiches never fail to impress. My go-to order is always the tuna sub and tuna empanadas, although I wish the empanadas were stuffed a bit more generously. Keep in mind three things: 1) they only accept cash payments. 2) they close on the early side, at 3:30 PM during the week and 3:00 PM on Saturdays. 3) there's no indoor seating available; it's strictly takeout. Ideal Sub Shop remains an amazing spot for a quick and delicious meal and the staff is always friendly.

Awwww man y'all.... I'm sad to write this review, but, I gotta keep it 100... I went here with the family on Saturday afternoon... I ordered my typical Italian sub with LIGHT MAYO & everything... It was soooo wack!!! They went extra heavy on the Mayo (I literally had to spoon globs of it out, gross)... it only came with excessive lettuce and some tomatoes (mind you, I asked for EVERYTHING)... they were stingy with the meat... it just looked sad and sloppy altogether. My mom ordered the steak and cheese with onions and mushrooms and 2 extra slices of cheese (.65 extra each slice)... I tried her sub, it was dry AF, there was NO extra cheese, and the meat was unseasoned smh... My dad ordered the same sorry Italian-sub as me... Not to mention, they went hella-up on their prices now... if they had decent quality with higher prices, I wouldn't mind... but man, that food we got was not that good. I gave it 2 stars cause my gramps Wingding dinner LOOKED decent and He liked it! All-in-all, market basket subs are better and cheaper... I don't think I'll be going back anymore... I'm disappointed, this was my favorite spot every time I came back to Boston.

The Tuna subs are the best in the entire city of Boston. They make it fresh and when I say fresh I mean open a can of tuna just for your sandwich fresh. They pack the sub. You can't go wrong with the Tuna Sub at ideals.

Ideal Sub Shop It saddens me to write this post. I have been gladly supporting your establishment for well over thirty years. On Thursday 6/22/23 was the first time I have visited since during Covid. I was so disappointed upon entering the shop and the glass where you usually watch you sandwich be made was covered up and the pickup window is now the order window (like during the pandemic). Which you are given a number. We all know how the line be out the door, which we accept but to now have to wait for your order after waiting in the line from any where from 15 - 20 minutes just to order and wait some more is ridiculous. I ordered a super size Tuna with lettuce, onions and pickles. My number was 86902 I started noticing that ppl that had came in after me where getting their food before me 03, 04, 05, 06, I ask the young lady why she said is yours a hot sub (no) is your bread toasted (no). She did rectify the situation by bringing it to the attention of those making sandwiches. The kicker was when I got home and opened my sub there was barely any tuna in it. I guess it's time to make my own.

Wtf happened to Ideal???? Paid them a visit yesterday around 2 for a large tuna sub with tomato and these mofos opened a can of tuna mixed in some cut up tomatoes and slapped it in a sub roll! No Mayo, no pepper, no salt...nada! Thought I was going to chow down for lunch...SURPRISE! Another twilight zone moment...pissed me off! I had to buy a jar of mayonnaise to finish preparing the tuna.

The Best sandwich shop in the neighborhood and did I mention it's worth the price which is extremely affordable and you can definitely get a quality sandwich that will fill you up this is an old school sandwich shop with all the fixings and you can get breakfast on the go

Toasted ham and cheese sub with mayo lettuce & tomato

the food is good, it's not a 5 because they improperly cut the sandwhich, all the food fell out when I tried to pick a piece up. Service was really boring, they didn't exactly give me a vibe where I'd want to come back, and the place itself is so plain and lifeless. The wait was fine and the price was great, it's a good place to grab a quick bite

The servers inside are working their tails off...! Their work pace is not the issue, it's the establishment's popularity...! Looks very authentic inside like a restaurant / deli you might find in Firenze. I decided to order the Italian Sub as they make it; no changes. In hindsight, I should've changed a few things I kind of knew I wouldn't like, but wanted to roll with their take on the classic sub. The bread was very fresh and the meats abundant and plentiful! I was not a fan of the balsamic, nor the "hots" (not "hot" so-to-speak, but kind of a marinated sweet pepper, nor am a fan of sweet pickles. Condiments on their sandwich...? Mayonnaise (none), mustard (none). I believe it's only balsamic and EVIO. I ate a half sandwich and was quite full. I honestly threw the other half out. Wasn't my jam. If you'd like to try it, you can have the full summertime experience and wait in the long line in the roasting sun with no apparent breeze or.... PRO-TIP: Place an order online for pick-up; walk up, go in the second door (to the left) straight to the counter where you pay and pick up your sandwich which will be ready by the time you get there. I will try this place again; I'm just modifying the sandwich to a version I know I'll love. Side note: The chip selection had some crazy flavors I've never seen before such as "Fried Egg"

My first introduction…read moreended up being at a corporate event in Boston's Seaport district, where lunch arrived courtesy of one of the city's best-known sandwich shops. The catering was impressive. Before anyone even took a bite. Every half sandwich was individually wrapped and clearly labeled, with salads and sides neatly organized, making it easy for a large group to grab lunch without the usual catering chaos. The choices were wide and varied. We took our lunches upstairs to a rooftop seating area overlooking the Seaport, which made for a pretty great setting on a beautiful afternoon. I chose the Gobbler, and it lived up to the hype I've since read in other reviews. At first glance it sounds like a Thanksgiving leftover sandwich, but it's much more than that. The turkey was fresh and flavorful, and it was complemented by stuffing, cranberry sauce, spinach, pepper jack cheese, and just enough chipotle mayo to add an unexpected kick, without overwhelming everything else. It's one of those combinations that sounds busy on paper but comes together remarkably well. I spoke with several others over lunch, and they were equally impressed with their choices. That's always a good sign when you're feeding a crowd. It's one thing to make a great sandwich to order; it's another to deliver dozens of them catered while maintaining that level of quality. Since this was catered, I can't really comment on the restaurant itself. The service on the catering side, however, was evident in how thoughtfully everything was prepared and packaged, and the rooftop setting where we enjoyed lunch certainly didn't hurt. Needless to say, this won't be my last Sam LaGrassa's sandwich. I fully intend to visit the restaurant one of these days, and in the meantime I'll spend some time trying to recreate that Gobbler at home (maybe with sliced roasted chicken, but also with turkey when I have it). It was that good.

My partner and I had intended to order another sandwich, an eggplant offering, but they were out of eggplant and said there would be more available in 3 hours. We decided to split the "Table". Thank goodness because 1/2 was more than filling. When we arrived there was a line of at least 20 people ahead of us waiting to order. The line moved fairly swiftly as we waited approximately 10 minutes to order. At ordering we were told our order would be ready in 45 minutes. Upon checkout, when the card machine was turned toward us, we opted not to apply a tip, as there was nowhere to sit to enjoy our sandwich and noone to serve us. Reviewing the receipt we saw that we were automatically charged for a 20% tip of $5.20 on the $26 sandwich and further more, the receipt had recommended %'s for an additional tip. The sandwich was ready in the stated 45 minutes. It was very good, but would have been memorable and brag-worthy if we had a table to sit at as we waited and then enjoyed our meal. As it was we ate, sitting on a granite bench adjacent to the Paul Revere on horseback statue surrounded by Boston's finest pigeons. We were unaccustomed to tipping for no service without being notified ahead of cashing out. While we generally tip 20% or better for service, when no service or seating is offered, being charged 20% without notification is offensive and we won't be back.

We almost felt that we were inconveniencing the workers and the wait time is absurd for in person orders. But I have to give credit when it's due, this was by far one of my favorite sandwiches although they are pricey, you can easily feed a party of four with a nice bag of chips on the side. We were blessed with being able to try the table sandwich. The focaccia was fresh along with the mozzarella and arugula. Since we made an online order which quoted us 45 minutes, our sandwich was ready in 20 so unfortunately, the chicken cutlet was not as fresh as we would've liked. Sidenote, the first day we attempted to order in person they quoted us an hour, so we decided to place an order of the following day. Highly recommend placing the order and staying local to be safe. Despite all the sandwiches, well worth the weight, just don't have high expectations for service We love the ambience of a little Italian market, and it was very well kept

I've eaten here before (it's a small area, but does have a lot of seating) but normally I get it as take out. The cafe itself is super casual, it's the perfect place to pop into during lunch or after a walk. The spinach tortellini with the pesto cream sauce is my absolute favorite- it's a HUGE portion and so delicious. It usually lasts me at least 2 meals. The bread they include is also great! I like to dip it in the sauce. The past time I got Dino's I accidentally ordered spinach ravioli instead of tortellini...that was my bad. HOWEVER I think I might have found my new favorite? The raviolis are huge and so fat. I'm talking like 1/2 inch - 3/4 inch thick. There is so much stuffing and the spinach ricotta mix tastes so fresh and delicious...it's a must try. I've also gotten the eggplant parm before, and the fettuccini Alfredo. Both were also delicious. I've never had any of the sandwiches, but if they are anything like their pastas then I'm sure they are great! The bang for your buck here is also great which is nice. Highly recommend! Dinos is awesome! And the staff is very kind too (Note that the pic is taken from a train, I like to treat myself to Dino's before catching the Amtrak)

I would give the burrito 4 out of 5 stars because of the way it was wrapped - about a third of the burrito was just egg and cheese and the toppings (avocado, red onion, hash browns, salsa verde, crema) were crammed on the other side of the burrito. If there was a way for the burrito to be wrapped so all the ingredients were more evenly distributed - this would easily be a 5/5 breakfast burrito.
