I had been craving a Polish sausage with lots of onions and peppers, and the closest option here is their Bratwurst braised in DBCo's beer, topped with homemade sauerkraut and honey mustard. It was served chopped and was just fatty enough to add flavor that might be lacking in more lean styles of Brisket. But not so fatty that any pieces had to be skipped. The cole slaw was some of the best I have had. It had a unique flavor, perhaps containing cinnamon. Sausage was drizzled slightly with mustard. Baked beans were delicious. My only criticism would be the small supply if BBQ sauce which was easily remedied by asking the staff for more. I would say it was a 5 star experience. Was at the brewery for a candle making event with friends. I had been wanting to try the BBQ here for a while, after hearing all good things. They are black owned, and have some cool write-ups in different outlets. You can order and pay by phone by scanning the code at your table, and they'll bring it out to you. I got the dumpster fries with brisket. Great toppings and content- cheesy, tangy, a pop of scallion, fried goodness, and meaty. We got the Bone-In BBQ Platter, which came with a 1/2 rack of pork ribs, 1/2 chicken, cole slaw, and baked beans, as well as the Dumpster Fries, a bratwurst, mac & cheese, cornbread, and banana pudding. The ribs were done perfectly, and the cornbread was just right. I recently attended an event with friends at Dorchester Brewing Company. M&M BBQ is located inside of the brewery. M&M offers a small, yet solid selection of starters/shareables, salads, handhelds/sandwiches, barbecue, and a good selection of sides! We decided to order the food to-go, as we wanted to head back to our hotel after a long day. I should've checked the order over prior to leaving. You should not have to do this, but I'd highly recommend it to avoid disappointment. We decided to order the Pretzel to start off with. It is listed on the menu as a "salted and buttery 5oz pretzel" served with either brown mustard or smoked cheese. I wish I could let you know how it was. There was NO PRETZEL in my order. I did receive the cheese sauce for said pretzel- which I found had a very odd taste to it. I've ordered beer-cheese with pretzels before and never noticed such an off taste. Next, we decided to order the "Mass Ave" handheld/sandwich. It is a bratwurst braised in the brewery's beer and it is topped with sauerkraut and honey mustard. We both thought the brat was so-so. Then again, we may be a bit biased having come from the Midwest! I'm used to a solid brat. This just wasn't it. The bun was similar to one you'd get a lobster roll served on. The sauerkraut was tasty and plentiful. However, they just dump on the mustard which isn't very good. They do this to disguise that the brat is tough, dry, fatty, and has zero taste to it. It was honestly a very poor attempt. Lastly, we decided to share 1/2 a BBQ chicken. I'll say, this is the only menu item that was somewhat worth it. The chicken was juicy and delicious. The meat was seasoned well and the sauce was not overwhelming. However, the sauce was extremely runny- as if it was watered down. It doesn't stick to or stay on/in the meat itself. My guess is it's the recipe or it's watered down. We decided to split a few sides to go with our chicken. We ordered the cornbread and the BBQ baked beans. The cornbread was delicious. They come as cornbread "muffins" essentially. They were still warm and the butter melted just right! I think they were the best item in our entire meal! Sadly, we also did NOT receive our BBQ baked beans, so I can't comment on those! I'll be honest, I'd pass on this place. It just isn't worth spending your money and being so disappointed in the quality, taste, and service. They do not check the orders for accuracy, so expect to get home missing part or all of the order. Neither of us were going to drive back, and they don't offer delivery on any app locally. I'd honestly give the place a solid pass. Save your money and save your disappointment. The place may be a good spot for those visiting the brewery. Aside from that, it isn't worth it. This was my first and last time ordering food from this restaurant. The food was terrible! The brisket was salty and a poor cut of beef. I didn't get bbq sauce because I wanted to taste the smoky flavor...that was a mistake. The bbq sauce, if slightly sweetened, would have balanced the salty taste of the meat. The 1/2 chicken was tasteless but tender. The collard greens were salty but lacked flavor otherwise. The corn muffins tasted bad as well and had a weird aftertaste. The Mac and cheese was the best part of the meal. I spent $42 on a meal that I threw in the trash! Go to Dorchester Brewery for a beer but not for the bbq. I am not a huge beer drinker, but we come to DBCo pretty regularly to get M&M BBQ. So glad they opened up shop! Is it healthy? No, but why TF are you ordering BBQ if you're trying to be healthy? The pulled pork sandwich is my fave; husband likes the brisket sandwich. Ribs are also a good go-to. The fries are always *chefs kiss* and all this greasy deliciousness goes down well with one of the sour beers offered at DBCo. Also, side note, my toddler who HATES any kind of vegetable absolutely loves the collard greens here... Like he eats the whole side on his own. I'm not complaining about it. Since M&M moved into the brick and mortar location at Dorchester Brewing (another favorite of mine), I think the food is much better. The sandwiches are consistently delicious, flavorful, and tender, and the sides are very good too. The chicken sandwich (Newmarket Square) is one of our favorite things to get. As a Texan, I wouldn't necessarily compare the food here to the barbecue I'm used to, but I do believe it's super tasty and satisfying. Pro tip - order extra mac and cheese, it was a crowd favorite and went so fast! M & M BBQ helped us throw the perfect micro-wedding celebration in September 2021. They were so helpful throughout the planning process (and pandemic uncertainty) and made the day of the wedding run so smoothly. The food from M&M BBQ was delicious and Candace was so helpful planning a BBQ buffet menu to accommodate feeding omnivores (beef brisket and BBQ chicken), vegetarians (BBQ jackfruit, mac and cheese, salad, and cornbread), and guests with allergies alike! They even sent us home with takeout containers full of our leftovers (including the spectacular peach cobbler we asked for instead of a wedding cake!). Everyone had such a fun time (and many of our local friends will definitely be back). We could not have imagined a more perfect, relaxed, and joyful wedding day surrounded by loved ones. i was so excited to order after reading all of the great reviews! i ordered for me and my coworkers. I ordered the bbq chicken, i got yams, mac and cheese, and collard greens as a side. First things first the bbq chicken was very underwhelming, it was unseasoned and the BBQ sauce was pretty blah. the mac and cheese is also very disappointing, not cheesy not ooey gooey as i expected. the collard green have to be the worse thing of it all, they taste unwashed, unseasoned and they are under cooked, taste like canned collards but texture says they are fresh. they have to be the worse collards I've ever tasted. overall maybe they are just havig a bad day however i was not satisfied at all. my coweorker got chicken and fries and the fries were good. read more

I have it yearly at a work gathering and I always enjoy the meal. Recently I was informed of the restaurant's new location in Dorchester Brewery and was super excited for some of Big Mo's bbq. Today for lunch I ordered a rib dinner and was the most disappointed I have been. The ribs were under-cooked cold and pretty much sauce-less. The mac and cheese was over-cooked and mushy and the corn muffin tasted like uncooked batter. Is there a new cook employed because I will have to say I am Very Disappointed!!! read more

My second time at Dorchester Brewing in the last year, and it disappointed again. They're quick to blame the M&M BBQ and say it's separate, but it's DBC on the door so they must accept some responsibility. I went there at 6:30pm, place wasn't too busy. Ordered food and beer, as required with the Covid restrictions someone must order food. My food order (a pretzel and French fries) was in at 6:37. A half hour goes by and still no food. I'm getting annoyed. At 7:12, my friend points out that you can "track" tour order on the site after placing it. I then go to the site and notice my order has supposedly been ready for 15 minutes already (it says completed 6:57). I go up to the bar where I'm told "oh, you have to talk to the BBQ guys - that's not us...." so I then walk over to the BBQ kitchen. I tell the guy I'm there for my order which should've been delivered to my table and that the site says it was completed. He proceeds to tell me it'll be ready soon and they'll bring it to my table. My food comes a little after 7:20. A pretzel and French fries should NOT take 50 mins. About 10 mins after receiving our food, we're given the countdown from a hostess that we have under 30 mins to occupy the table due to the 90 min limit. I don't have an issue with a 90-min limit but this is ridiculous if it takes that long to get the food. When we (as a table) mentioned how long the food was taking, the woman working just said "we don't have anything to do with that." Well, the separate DBC and M&M model might work on paper, but it doesn't work for customers and it doesn't work in reality. We ordered ribs, collard greens, Mac & cheese, baked beans, and dumpster fries. Geo is soooo nice and the whole atmosphere of the place is crazy dope. Plus they're located in Dorchester Brewery?!? Beer and BBQ?!? Hell yeah! The ribs are meaty, the collard greens are tender, and the baked beans are sweet and smoky. I advise you to show them some love, the food is damn good. Had a not so good experience at M&M BBQ on Saturday night at Dorchester Brewing Company. Restaurant not too busy, despite brewery filled to capacity. First problem, at the order counter we had issues with an extremely unfriendly and unhelpful server / order taker. We had questions on substitutions / adds, she doesn't answer the question but instead starts typing in the order into her system. When the sandwich (which was replacing meat for a veggie option, which should be an even substitute if not less) increased in price from $11 to $17, we were surprised and questioned why that was and if it was a mistake. The answer we received was "that's just how we do it." Extremely unhelpful and rude. Next, as I mentioned the restaurant had plenty of workers and wasn't extremely busy. Our orders took 20-25 minutes to come out, which was unfortunate as we were hungry and wanted to eat quickly. Food was fine when it finally came, nothing special. We already had a bad taste in our mouth after the wait and rude service that we weren't necessarily excited to get the food. 2/5 overall, likely would not go back and/or recommend. read more

Nice addition to Dorchester Brewing- who doesn't want some easily-accessible and tasty BBQ with their beer? We were there the day before their grand opening, so they didn't quite have their systems or timing worked out perfectly yet and the ordering and wait time were a bit muddled- but that will likely improve with time. The pulled pork sandwich had little sauce (just a bit brushed on the potato bun, I think) but still managed to be pretty flavorful and not dry- I did detect a bit of a kick (cayenne?), so it's not 100% mild FYI (I personally prefer my BBQ heat from mustard instead, but to each his own). The fried chicken thigh sandwich was crispy but juicy and also flavorful, topped with some tasty pickles, and was the clear crowd favorite in our group. The skin-on fries have potential, but were a bit soggy and cold by the time they got to us (although probably are excellent when fresh), and instead of ketchup they give you BBQ sauce to dip them in. I recall from trying them at a past Beer & BBQ fest that their ribs are good, but they were out when we were there. Prices are good for sandos, portions are sufficient without being too overwhelming or too tiny, access is easy (don't even have to step outside). I was really looking forward to M&M's opening and had been tracking it for many months because I'm really into BBQ. Sadly, the BBQ was a real disappointment. Here's my take on the food: BEST = baked beans (side) and Caesar salad. The beans are really flavorful, and the Caesar had a nice dressing. SO-SO = grilled street corn w/aioli. Nice flavor WORST = mac & "?cheese?" and ribs. The mac and cheese was remarkably awful. There's stuff in it that looks like cheese -- it's the right color -- but doesn't taste like anything. It's a totally flavorless dish that's just overcooked pasta. Now, the ribs ... sigh. I think they were boiled and then grilled (not smoked). They're also very salty, which was something all of us noticed. They tasted like what I'd expect from the Shaw's or Stop & Shop deli counter -- definitely not the sort of flavor worthy of a bbq joint. I will stick with BT's Smokehouse, Southern Kin, Smoke Shop, Sweet Cheeks, and Redbones. All are better than M&M. But again, the baked beans and Caesar salad were good -- just not the main dish. read more
