First thing the waffle wasn't barely toasted! The chicken was crispy moist inside the bacon was cooked perfectly but the menu says bacon bits but I got full bacon was this a mistake or they didn't have time to break it up? Hell-a-hot was just drenched in buffalo hot sauce and that was all I could taste. Cheesy chick just didn't work with American cheese and mozz. The Mac n cheese was just plain noodles, literally. I did not have high expectations of this restaurant as it appears to be another pop-up chicken spot. I've only visited this restaurant a handful of times but the quality has been consistent each visit. I placed my orders late in the evening and was pleasantly surprised. The chicken tasted fresh in the sense that it was cooked in clean oil. I'm not sure if they're changing the oil throughout the day or if I'm just getting lucky. Has a nice bite to it and goes well with a toasted by. Chicken tenders were very crispy and pair well with the buffalo blue cheese sauce. I would skip the tots though. You only get a handful for $5 and they are just your basic tots. Parking is tricky because it's street parking and there aren't many spots. I've been wanting to try this place out after it opened and it wasn't bad. It was affordable and has a ton of chicken options. It's your typical chicken spot in the neighborhood. I ordered the wifey found out sandwich and the 4pcs chicken wing dinner with fries. On the menu it said the sandwich had the "hottest spicy Diablo sauce" but it wasn't spicy at all which was kind of disappointing. The wing dinner and the fries were alright. The other items on the menu had interesting sauces so I'd probably try those next. They're open until 11pm which is super convenient! It's on Columbia rd near Mass Ave so parking is scarce. Super excited that this place is walking distance for me because you know, gas is crazy right now! All jokes aside, first impression when arriving, clean and bright atmosphere. Two signs outside saying fried chicken and chicken wings. That got my attention immediately. I'm a huge fan of fried chicken so I had to give it a try. I ordered 5 fried chicken wings and two fried chicken (drums and thigh). When I got home, they gave me an additional thigh. Kudos to them! the fried wings were made fresh for me so it was super crispy. The batter was super flavorful . The drums and thighs were good also but I would like to get it fresh next time. Been wanting to try this place because I love fried chicken and love to support local. This place is directly across the street from KFC and is limited to street parking which is very scarce. I suggest, order ahead and just double park. The person who gave us our food waited for us to pick up our order completing the mixed chicken and fries order so everything would remain nice and crispy which I greatly appreciate! We ordered the 4 piece mixed chicken which was good. The chicken isn't southern fried, just fried with minimal or no breading. It was good but it didn't have any seasoning to make it memorable. The fries were crispy but needed some salt but otherwise no complaints. Got the wifey found out, which was good but disappointed it wasn't spicy and overly vinegary from the pickles and pickled pepper and hot sauce. The chicken was a crispy boneless thigh which is uncommon, but was very well executed. The bun was soft and fresh, I think I'll order their sandwich that had bbq and cheese because that one looks good in pictures. Brother in law got the main chick, which he said was good. Overall the chicken was good and I didn't feel like garbage and full of regrets because of the high salt and msg you find at the main fried chicken chains. Late flight coming into Boston? Hungry and have to drive down to RI? STOP RIGHT HERE. Unfortunately I didn't get to go inside, but MAN was the food piping hot when it came to me in the car. Wish I'd gotten 6. They're HUGE! Hot & tasty too. We went for the Parmesan & truffle fries. You crispy wedges. Look forward to trying the cheese fries next tie because we will definitely be back. This place is just amazing. On top of being a great location, with amazing food, and amazing options. They have an incredibly friendly and attentive staff. I often find myself nervous trying new places but the man who picked up the phone and served me my food was incredibly patient, kind and helpful. He went over all the sauces with me and offered his recommendations. It's rare to find good service these days let alone at a take away restaurant but Side Chicks got it all! It's a chicken sandwich with bacon and maple syrup served on waffles for the bread! It's like a portable chicken and waffles dish. The owner mentioned the wrong waffles were sent to them. They were supposed to be scallion waffles but they sent them sweet waffles by mistake. Honestly, the sweet waffles with the salty chicken were a perfect combination! The chicken is marinated for 24 hours and isn't breaded and dropped until you order so it is SUPER FRESH!! Super crispy and flavorful. I LOVED the shrimp with the special sauce!! Parm truffle fries are delicious (first time i had them on thick fries and didn't miss a beat!)!! Mac and cheese is light/creamy on the cheese if that is your preference. The place is located on a busy street and very limited spots outside. We got the main chick and the wife chick and both had very different flavors. Their white sauce is really delicious. The wife chick is spicy. At first, it wasn't really spicy but by the end of the sandwich, my mouth was on fire. We also got spicy fries which were just okay. They were the small densely packed fries. I don't usually write reviews but I feel compelled to write this one. Never have I experienced such rudeness from a restaurant employee. I've ordered from this place 3 times. First time it was through their ordering website. I ordered at 635 pm and the pick up time was 7 pm. My husband went around 7:15 and the food was still not ready. We ordered the food to break our fast with. Understandably he was frustrated. They eventually got the food ready and he made it home in the nick of time. Second time I ordered through Ubereats. Also ordered around 630 pm hoping the food will be here in time for us to break fast at 730 pm. They were taking so long to get the order ready that the driver ended up canceling the order and leaving. A second driver had to pick up the order. Today I ordered via phone at 630 pm. The guy who took my order said it'll be ready in 15-20 mins and he said he'll fry my fries when I pick up so they'll be crispy like I asked. I called at 715pm to tell him not to wait and make the fries now. I also wanted to ask if my order was ready. He cut me off and said fries will take only a minute and he'll do them when I pick up. I let him know I'll be there in 5 mins. When my husband got there at 730 pm, he didn't even acknowledge him and took customers that came after him. When my husband asked him about our order he told him it's still not ready. My husband told him the order was placed an hour ago and we were told it'll be 15-20 mins. His response was "we're busy." My husband argued with that this is the second time this has happened and it's unacceptable that they can't get an order ready on time. He then told my husband he wasn't going to give him our food. So my husband left without our food. I called them and asked why he refused to give my husband the food and why wasn't it ready after an hour. He replied my husband was rude and then hung up on me. I've worked in customer service and I've encountered "rude" customers regularly. We still treat "rude" customers the same way we would treat any other customer. My husband was frustrated but he wasn't rude and didn't deserve to be treated that way. They should learn how to treat customers and not lie about when orders will be ready. They're blaming the customer for being upset for not having their order an hour later from when the order was placed despite being told it'll be ready in 15-20 minutes. I have receipts for all this. Initially we were excited that a halal spot opened up close to us and we've been telling all our friends about it. That's why we gave them a few chances despite our past disappointments. But we will never step foot in that establishment ever again. read more
