The delivery took an hour and a half, which may or may not be the fault of the restaurant. But what is the restaurant's fault is the price. $12 for five tenders, three of which were the size of chicken nuggets. And $7 for the coleslaw pictured below. Even if the chicken was the best I've ever eaten, and it wasn't, I couldn't give it more than a star. Oh, and they upcharge for lettuce and tomato. Do better, folks. read more

Update new review Nov 3, 2925 12pm Ok I'm back for round 2 to try other items from the menu. Trying the Dot crispy chicken sandwich, Bacon Bits and Scallions Waffle and Drizzled with Maple Syrup. First thing the waffle wasn't barely toasted! The chicken was crispy moist inside the bacon was cooked perfectly but the menu says bacon bits but I got full bacon was this a mistake or they didn't have time to break it up? Sandwich fell apart right away! It should have been toasted golden brown. See pictures unfortunately somebody dropped the ball on my sandwich. Wifey found out, Spiciest Crispy Chick, Lettuce, Pickled Onion, Pickles and added bacon, I got it with out spicy sauce and Hottest Spicy Diablo Sauce. This one was OUTSTANDING bun was fresh and chicken cooked delicious crispy moist inside lettuce was fresh. Picked onions fresh. Also I got 6 Disco Wings tossed Lemon Pepper wings! Quite disappointed as everything gets soggy so quickly. Ordered hell-a-hot, cheesy chick, wifey found out, and an order of poppin' side chick. Hell-a-hot was just drenched in buffalo hot sauce and that was all I could taste. Cheesy chick just didn't work with American cheese and mozz. The Mac n cheese was just plain noodles, literally. Wifey just plain, I'd rather get something from Dave's. The loaded fries were ok, the crispy chicken was super crispy but all it was under was government cheese basically. it's not every day i crave fried chicken but this place hit the spot. i grabbed takeout so can't say for seating but it was a smaller joint. the hot cheeto sandwich was SO yum, the fried pickles were great, the chicken fingers were delish. service was great and fast. only tweak is i would get bigger sauce containers - small amount is in the current containers. will be back! read more

The sandwich was soooo good and everything was so fresh. I was skeptical of the white sauce because I'm not a huge fan of mayo, but mixed with garlic, it was the perfect topper for the chicken. The shoestring fries were crispy, just like I like them. read more

I did not have high expectations of this restaurant as it appears to be another pop-up chicken spot. I've only visited this restaurant a handful of times but the quality has been consistent each visit. I placed my orders late in the evening and was pleasantly surprised. The chicken tasted fresh in the sense that it was cooked in clean oil. I'm not sure if they're changing the oil throughout the day or if I'm just getting lucky. There's another well known chicken restaurant across the street but I'll always bypass it to visit Side Chick. I definitely recommend if you're in the area. read more

Not a bad choice for quick takeout or delivery. Decent spicy chicken sandwich that reminds me of an upgraded version of what you'd find at Wendy's (which is a good thing). Has a nice bite to it and goes well with a toasted by. Chicken tenders were very crispy and pair well with the buffalo blue cheese sauce. I would skip the tots though. You only get a handful for $5 and they are just your basic tots. Parking is tricky because it's street parking and there aren't many spots. I've been wanting to try this place out after it opened and it wasn't bad. It was affordable and has a ton of chicken options. It's your typical chicken spot in the neighborhood. I ordered the wifey found out sandwich and the 4pcs chicken wing dinner with fries. On the menu it said the sandwich had the "hottest spicy Diablo sauce" but it wasn't spicy at all which was kind of disappointing. The wing dinner and the fries were alright. The other items on the menu had interesting sauces so I'd probably try those next. They're open until 11pm which is super convenient! It's on Columbia rd near Mass Ave so parking is scarce. You're better off walking if you live near by, getting delivery or parking down the street. read more

A friend picked up sandwiches from here before we went to the movies to watch Oppenheimer. All the sandwiches were great! Very filling and tasty! The hubs especially loved it and said so - he usually doesn't comment too much about what he eats, so this is high praise! Super excited that this place is walking distance for me because you know, gas is crazy right now! All jokes aside, first impression when arriving, clean and bright atmosphere. Two signs outside saying fried chicken and chicken wings. That got my attention immediately. I'm a huge fan of fried chicken so I had to give it a try. I ordered 5 fried chicken wings and two fried chicken (drums and thigh). When I got home, they gave me an additional thigh. Kudos to them! the fried wings were made fresh for me so it was super crispy. The batter was super flavorful . The drums and thighs were good also but I would like to get it fresh next time. Been wanting to try this place because I love fried chicken and love to support local. This place is directly across the street from KFC and is limited to street parking which is very scarce. I suggest, order ahead and just double park. The person who gave us our food waited for us to pick up our order completing the mixed chicken and fries order so everything would remain nice and crispy which I greatly appreciate! We ordered the 4 piece mixed chicken which was good. The chicken isn't southern fried, just fried with minimal or no breading. It was good but it didn't have any seasoning to make it memorable. The fries were crispy but needed some salt but otherwise no complaints. Got the wifey found out, which was good but disappointed it wasn't spicy and overly vinegary from the pickles and pickled pepper and hot sauce. The chicken was a crispy boneless thigh which is uncommon, but was very well executed. The bun was soft and fresh, I think I'll order their sandwich that had bbq and cheese because that one looks good in pictures. Brother in law got the main chick, which he said was good. Overall the chicken was good and I didn't feel like garbage and full of regrets because of the high salt and msg you find at the main fried chicken chains. My husband ordered two different types of sandwiches, French fries, a mixed basket of 6 piece chicken, and two sodas. Total? $33 and WORTH EVERY CENT. I wasn't initially so enthusiastic about trying this place, but I was convinced and it was open till 11pm so WHY NOT. Across the street you'll find KFC, but I don't think I'd ever choose that over this. Run, don't walk to Side Chick! This new place in Columbia Rd is awesome! My friend had the Dot sandwich and I went for Disco Wings with Buffalo sauce. I got 10 of these double breaded fresh wings. Wish I'd gotten 6. They're HUGE! Hot & tasty too. We went for the Parmesan & truffle fries. You crispy wedges. Look forward to trying the cheese fries next tie because we will definitely be back. Ordered 2 chicken sandwiches. The main chick and the Dot. Both sandwiches were really good. Huge pieces of crispy chicken. The Dot was really impressive! It's a chicken sandwich with bacon and maple syrup served on waffles for the bread! It's like a portable chicken and waffles dish. The owner mentioned the wrong waffles were sent to them. They were supposed to be scallion waffles but they sent them sweet waffles by mistake. Honestly, the sweet waffles with the salty chicken were a perfect combination! I hope the owner reads this and knows how good those sweet waffles were! The owner was really nice too! I hope they do well. We will definitely be back here. read more

This place is just amazing. On top of being a great location, with amazing food, and amazing options. They have an incredibly friendly and attentive staff. I often find myself nervous trying new places but the man who picked up the phone and served me my food was incredibly patient, kind and helpful. He went over all the sauces with me and offered his recommendations. It's rare to find good service these days let alone at a take away restaurant but Side Chicks got it all! Kudos to a REAL chicken place opening up across from two head KFC. Owner is AMAZING , top notch customer service, super clean inside and knows how to cook! The chicken is marinated for 24 hours and isn't breaded and dropped until you order so it is SUPER FRESH!! Super crispy and flavorful. I LOVED the shrimp with the special sauce!! Parm truffle fries are delicious (first time i had them on thick fries and didn't miss a beat!)!! Mac and cheese is light/creamy on the cheese if that is your preference. The staff is extremely nice! The food was equivalent to McDonald's. The breading wouldn't stay on the chicken. I ordered the Main Chick, and it didn't have cheese like it was supposed to. I paired with the fried zucchini, which seemed like they are frozen and then deep fried, not great, not terrible. My fiancé got the Colombian, and it again was like McDonald's. My husband and I finally tried this place just now. We picked it up seeing as it's a pretty short walk from our apartment. We tried the chicken fingers, an order of mixed fried chicken (the guy who waited on us, owner perhaps? threw in an extra piece...thank you so much for that!) and two sides: potato wedges and fried zucchini. All of it was fantastic! The chicken tasted super fresh and cooked perfectly. We're very excited to have this fabulous place so close to home!
