    The Tenoch Torta

THE BEST Mexican food I've had in a while! The Tortas are like Mexican sandwiches with a lot of different choices. I got the Tenoch with carnitas (pulled pork) and ham. It comes with pickled onions & repollo. It was delicious! My friend got the burrito ...it was huge & she LOVED it!! I highly recommend this place! Cash only!

A chorizo taco and a chicharron taco, $6 altogether. Really recommend the chorizo.

Unbelievably good. Easily the best mexican I've had in Boston. I got the chicharron taco and the chorizo sausage taco. Both were wonderfully flavorful, full of avacado and moist, well-seasoned meat, with lime on the side for a nice tang. I was also given a spicy sauce which I didn't have much of since it was so apocalyptic, but again, it had flavor. Last week I had the al pastor Enchilada, which came with a very light but very pleasant bit of mango inside that I loved. The balance of flavor was perfect. The fish taco is absolutely fantastic. There's a real substance to this kind of food that is extremely satisfying. Very much recommended.

Hands down the best food truck in Boston. I've had this multiple times; the first time was at SOWA on opening day in 2015, which I waited an insanely long amount of time in line (practically an hour) since there were only 2 guys in the truck to take orders and make the food. It was well worth the wait though. I got the Torta Campechana, which has chorizo and carnitas (pork) in between their Telera bread and stuffed with beans, chipotle mayo, avocado, tomatoes, Oaxaca, cheese, onions, and chipotle. I've heard great things about this, and it didn't disappoint. Each bite was a mouthful of amazing flavor; I personally hate mayo but the mayo they used in this was great (flavored with something). The meat was tender and juicy and the sauces soaked into the bread a little, which made it better. The second time was at HubSpot's INBOUND 2016 conference, where I had a free meal ticket for attending. They only had 2 options this time, so I opted for the adodaba, which was pork with adobo sauce, lettuce and the same toppings as before. It also came with chips drizzled with a little bit of that chipotle sauce. This was almost as good as the campechana. Honestly, if I weren't gluten free now I would try every single one of their tortas - they're the best I've had, and I'm from SoCal, where there's authentic Mexican food aplenty. This is authentic, flavorful, and satisfying, without being overly rich, heavy, or greasy. 100% recommend. I'd also 100% go to their restaurant for tacos, which I haven't gotten around to yet (unfortunately).

Little red trailer, usually parked on Atlantic Ave just beyond South Station by greenway. NOT with other food trucks in Dewey Sq

How have there not been more reviews? This little food "truck" is awesome. Really good Mexican food that tastes fresher and more authentic than most. Amazing chorizo sausage (can sell out) and mozzarella string cheese. $7 sandwiches, burritos, or plates - easy! Super friendly service too. Cash only though. Long wait from 11:45 - 1 or so on nice days, but it's well worth it and no different than the other food trucks down the greenway. Wish there were more of these, or their hitched trailer was a big truck with even more staff and food. I go whenever I can!

Raised all their prices from $7 to $8. Quality and portion sizes have gone down. Guac not included anymore. Still a cash only truck.

I remember when I first heard about this event. My initial thought was "oh look another way NYC and…read moreBoston can compete". Actually, I thought it was just another event New York City could dominate Boston at. But that's just the New Yorker in me. I kid, I kid. I've got nothing but love for Boston's food trucks. I was mostly interested in what trucks New York was going to come with as lets be honest the only food trucks I ever saw in NYC were the halal and hotdog trucks on the streets. And let's just say I was taught never to trust street meat. Good thing the website is good at listing the trucks and their websites so you can scope out the competition beforehand. Surprised to see almost all of them had websites. The first time this event was held in Dewey Square. Contained completely on the farmer's market island. My god it was a mess of lines and the wait for some of the trucks was horrendous. People had to plan strategically in their groups in order to hit as many of the trucks they wanted to try. Food truck competitions are serious business and apparently you call out a competition between NY and Boston you're going to pull a crowd to show some love for their hometown. It's understandable... even if the longest lines were from two NY trucks. The second time around the planners did a lot better location wise. They spread the trucks out along the less trafficked Greenway. Thank god they learned from last year. Also line control was handled a lot better. No funky zigzag across 4 different truck areas here. And there was also plenty of grass or curb to sit and eat. Now for the food. This competition has a habit of bringing an array of different cuisines. I had a plan to visit two trucks this time. Morrocan truck Comme Ci Comme Ca and Indian Chinese hybrid Momos & Buns. Most of the NY trucks had a limited 'Throwdown' menu. While I did pick up the kofka couscous from Comme Ci I would have really liked to try a few of their appetizers that I noticed on their website. The couscous was delicious and I think this was the first time I ever really tried Moroccan cuisine so I don't have anything to compare it to. But I'll definitely hunt down the truck when next I'm in NY. Momos I never got to. There was quite the line and I was not that patient. But while I was walking the area I stumbled upon the Cupcake Crew and tried their maple bacon cupcake. Wow, that was incredible. Although I think bacon makes most things taste better. In all it was a pleasant day with delicious food a relaxed atmosphere and I can't wait until next year's.

A lot of people seemed to be getting the tacos or a torta. I got the steak quesadilla and it was fresh, only thing was it was a little cold and portion was a little small. I liked the pico inside it added good flavors, and the steak was good but it tasted more like a ground beef. My boyfriend got the plate with carnitas, he really enjoyed it. I wish I tried a torta as it looked really good, but next time! They also have locations in other cities--there's one in Medford too. They also do takeout and had a lot of people in and out picking up orders.

Yelp pointed me to this small (nothing fancy) Mexican spot, and on a rainy Sunday evening it felt like exactly the right choice. The "tucked -in" restaurant was quiet and welcoming. I ordered the vegetarian enchiladas, and they absolutely hit the spot. The flavors were fresh, vibrant, and well-balanced, making for a hearty and satisfying meal. My only criticism--and it's a significant one for me--is the use of aluminum serving containers. I realize some restaurants still use them, but I personally don't think food should be served in direct contact with aluminum in 2026 when so many other options are available. It was a noticeable disappointment and detracted a bit from an otherwise yummy experience.

Ok so let's just say FIVEFKNSTARS. ok? ok. I don't give the 5 stars often, but when I do, I mean…read moreevery red square and white star of it. kickin' it off with the queer-o-meter. yeah, uh.. ten! The staff is so nice and it's Boston, low key all around. I'd like to officially put my bid in for the seasonal Korean "Good for the Seoul" BBQ sandwich to find a home on the permanent menu. It just ended in July and I am heartbroken. My taste buds are piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiissed to say the least. It was the sandwich that dreams are made of: soft (yet firm) seeded roll, thin fresh cooked chicken cutlets, cabbage slaw, pickled carrots, gochujang BBQ sauce and sriracha mayo. I stood in 85 humid sunny Boston heat for 20-25 min for it. Yes, it's that good. It's heaven on a bun! I've gotten the Drunken Parm, the Hogan, and the Caprese as well. All solid and delicious. I've never gotten one I didn't like. They are pleasant and open to customizing them as well. i.e. no lettuce, extra onion, BBQ on the side. I'm also not sure how, but Thomas the cashier remembers my name every time. That's SO impressive. I mean, I know I don't blend like most, but still, my name among all those people all week long at all the locations? I feel honoured to say the least. Seriously. I didn't get a picture of the BBQ sandwich because honestly, I had devoured it before realizing I should have. whoops. I did get a pic of the Hogan and will post that soon. The good: All of it. and I mean ALL OF IT. You can opt to get chicken, eggplant or one cutlet of each if you're feeling swanky. The location - this is good and bad. Good right by my building and bad that it moves down to Dewey Sq other days. BOO! The bad: The line. They open at 11:30am at Rowes Wharf and there is a line that starts to form at 11:15. I got there today at 11:20 and there were 8 people ahead of me. I might bring a lounge chair with me one of these days. The cost. I personally don't feel it's outrageous. It's a food truck in Boston on the Wharf and it's phenomenal. However, that said I think it's at the cap of what I would spend. I feel it's worth it for what you get. it's $15 for 1/2 and $20 for full sandwich. Pro Tip: psssst, get the full and take 1/2 home. Or eat it if you can't control yourself. I won't berate you for that. I don't consider it bad, but some do.. they cap you at 4 sandwiches per order. If you want more, get catering. And invite me over. Cheers!
