    Fried chicken

The reviews are right. Come here if you're craving perfectly executed, light batter, skinless/boneless fried chicken. Sauces are on point. Nice guy at the cash register. Casual place to get lunch with friends or family, order at the counter and gotta bus your own plates.

Chicken and fries but up close

To be completely honest, I saw the reviews and was extremely suspicious. I thought that maybe it was being paid for, or that it was a case of too few reviews. I am glad that I was wrong. The chicken. Wow. For the price, you get 4 large pieces of boneless fried chicken with some of the crunchiest skin I've ever had and the softest and juiciest pieces of chicken. The seasoning, oh my god. It's so good. It will say that it was a little salty, but that may be because I ate what could have been a meal for two people and I was dehydrated (oops). The fries were delicious, and the house-made ranch was great too. It seems that they have some other sauces as well, which I wish I tried. Anyhow the reviews are right, get the chicken!! You can sit on the patio outside and watch golfers, or you can sit inside, but sitting outside was a great view. Just order at the counter in the building, take your number, then sit wherever you want. I could smell the meat being smoked and see the smoke wafting from the side. That alone makes me eager to come back. If the chicken was that good, then goddamn the smoked meat must be amazing (and it was all a great price!) They have tap water as well if you're cheap like me lmao just ask

    Pulled pork--already ate some!

Delish! I got the pulled pork which was so good that it didn't even need the sauces. That said, both sauces were out of this world. Can't wait to come back to try the brisket and the ribs "from the smoker." Super tasty homemade pickled vegetables too. My spouse got the cheeseburger. It was well seasoned, but the barbecue stole the show. Wonderful wood burning fireplace, perfect for a rainy day. Finish your meal with an adult hot chocolate option.

Dragged a coworker friend, who had been cooped up too long, out the for lunch at Hemlock and it was the perfect answer to his isolation and foodie cravings. The menu is a perfect little journey through the South, the service and eating on the patio at "Putterham" has always been a fave of mine. Chef is highly rated and food is delicious. A perfectly quiet midweek spot for some tasty treats.

Stopped in for what is being described as a "hidden gem"...and they were right. Fantastic fried chicken. Great quality, portions, and flavor. Topping it off was phenomenal customer service that rare now a days. Will def be back.

Cozy wood burning fireplace and dark wood gives it a warm vibe.

Santoro's has deep roots in Roslindale Square, originally founded by Vincenzo and Agostina Santoro and beloved for decades for their Sicilian pizza, fresh-baked scali bread, and classic Italian pastries. Today, their daughter Tina Santoro Asmar carries that legacy forward with pride--and has taken it to another level. The care, tradition, and family ownership are felt the moment you walk in. The sandwiches are simply unmatched. Hands down, the best Italian deli sandwiches I've ever had--better than anything I've eaten in Philadelphia, New York City, or Boston (all places I've lived). Everything starts with bread baked fresh daily and top-quality ingredients. Our favorites are: The Agostina Sr. - Boar's Head provolone, sweet & spicy capicola, Genoa salami, mortadella, prosciutto, sun-dried tomato spread, roasted red peppers, onion, tomato, fresh basil, and olive oil The Grayson - Oven Gold turkey, cranberry sauce, homemade stuffing, romaine, and mayo You can taste the pride and attention to detail in every bite. Catering is where Santoro's truly shines and we always call the day beforehand. We regularly order trays for our own family and for friends returning home from the hospital, and the feedback is always the same--everyone raves. Standout catering dishes include: Chicken Parmigiana, Stuffed shells & stuffed manicotti, Lasagna, Ziti with meatballs, Chicken, broccoli & ziti, Eggplant Parmigiana (a favorite with our vegetarian friends), and Caesar salad We always order extra meatballs and extra Nona Carmela's marinara--and it never goes to waste. The garlic bread is also a must: fresh scali bread loaded with garlic, butter, Parmesan, mozzarella, and baked until perfectly bubbly. The desserts are excellent (especially the cannoli), and they thoughtfully package them separately from hot food--small touches that show how much they care. Add in super friendly staff, fair prices, and consistently fresh ingredients, and Santoro's becomes the kind of place you rely on again and again--for everyday meals, family gatherings, and moments when food really matters. A true family-owned Italian gem with incredible sandwiches and catering you can trust. Highly recommended.

A long line wound it's way around the non-perishable food displays. The employees looked a bit frazzled- the line was mostly new customers (like me) who saw the coverage. Everyone was friendly and sandwiches are made to order- they cut the meat as they maybe each order. It took just about an hour to get to the counter- there were at least 30 people ahead of me. I ordered the Italian sub without veggies, a pint of olives and meatballs with cheese and bread. Everything was delicious. Sandwich was excellent-meatballs were amazing. I would call ahead of order online in the future- and let some time pass as it will likely be busy like this for awhile. They use their space well. Lots of free parking. Paid with my phone using Apple Pay. It was good enough that I'd make a special trip to drive the 14 miles to get a repeat order.

Very disappointing experience at Tutto Italiano…read more I waited in a massive line because of all the hype surrounding the place and specifically went there for the meatballs. Brought them home expecting authentic homemade Italian meatballs and instead got something that tasted like a mass produced frozen food service product. The texture was spongy, oddly uniform, and completely lacking the flavor and character of real homemade meatballs. Honestly, they reminded me of the kind of reheated catering tray meatballs you get at low end buffets or grocery store prepared food sections. What made it worse was the attitude. The owner came across as rude and dismissive when customers raised concerns, and judging by many of the other reviews, that does not seem uncommon. For a place with this kind of reputation, the quality was shockingly underwhelming. I genuinely do not understand the hype.

Or the Exodus old window locations closed and the airstream camper location in alley is the new temporary place to order from. But I was tipped off by a bagel buying enthusiast when I was looking in the closed window location puzzled why I didn't see any people or bagels . The nice enthusiast told me that the pick up location is around the corner in a different new alley ... confused still but as Columbo the detective would do... I saw people walking from many directions to the new alley at 8:10 am. I followed the crowd to where others were already in the alley for the ordering process at the airstream trailer ... I was reminded of cousin Eddie in the Christmas movie with Chevy Chase and his camper trailer . The guy in the trailer looked like a horse bookie taking bets with his note pad and credit card machine... he may have been one of the owners after I researched later on website . I ordered a garlic Asiago bagel with butter and a salt bagel with veggie cream cheese. Then I was instructed to stand in alley and wait for my order . The bagel worker bees I then saw them come out of another building door with the bags of bagels and hand out to the experienced bagel buyers who intelligently order ahead . But the wait was quick and the worker bees scurry in and out of the door with the bags. There no tables or an area to eat in the alley . There was No inside coffee selections or Starbucks couches to lounge on eating your bagel sipping the latte to Italian music? I understand this is temporary as old space being renovated? I had my bagels both toasted and were perfect shade of toast . These were excellent different type bagels and not a brick dough filled type that becomes rock hard . The texture of bagel was more of a crunch chew in a good way. The garlic Asiago was a real deal flavor and thus would be excellent for a BLT or tuna or chicken salad for a sandwich , this would be winner chicken sandwich dinner . The salt bagel had a strong salt flavor again in a good way with the veggie cream cheese. The veggie cream cheese needed more veggies in it, but it did the trick to tame my bagel itch. Excellent bagels and the treasure hunt experience to find them was worth it. Clearly by the line of people and congregation of people from differ directions...they have a devoted following... reminded me of a Facebook announcement of a new iPhone release and people sleeping overnight to be first in line . Now, what is their secret of how or what they do to get the crunch texture but remain airy and not doughy? In summary: a great bagel and I need more .
