We calmly explained that we simply wanted to modify our order and that we were willing to get back in line if necessary. Our concern wasn't the order, it was the way we were being treated. Rather than listening or working toward a solution, the manager proceeded to tell us everything we had done wrong. As someone who values good leadership, I found that especially disappointing. Whether the customer is right or wrong, a manager sets the tone. Professionalism, respect, and a willingness to de-escalate a situation go a long way. Mistakes happen. Miscommunications happen.
