Our server was above exceptional. But... My wife's salmon and eggs Benedict was COLD and the eggs WEREN'T COOKED. Truly disappointing and fairly inedible. Never had anything like this happen at the Oro Valley location. However, undercooked eggs here did happen in the past. A bit more kitchen management seems in order. read more

This is a favorite "go to" of mine for breakfast or brunch. I must say, however, I was disappointed during my last visit. The service was exceptional as always, the ambiance was great! I ordered the Salmon and Veggie Fritata with Potates. The friata was overcooked, dry, and the salmon and veggies were not evenly distributed. The potatoes were dry and overcooked for the most part. Greeted the moment we walked up to the door. Even though they were very busy, we only waited about five minutes for our table. Service was great from start to finish. The million dollar bacon was insanely delicious and absolutely lived up to the hype. Service was good however not a good experience this morning with noisy obnoxious people behind us and another person behind us on the other side with his phone conversation on speaker very loudly. We stopped in for breakfast on Friday to try the fall menu and use a buy one get one coupon. Chadwick was a friendly and attentive server. I just had a traditional breakfast. I remember the potatoes being better the last visit. My husband chicken-changa was a little sweeter than he prefers, all else tasted fabulous, and we loved the pumpkin spice donut holes! Had an amazing experience at First Watch! The service and food were both excellent. We had the oatmeal and shared a seasonal winter menu BAC sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious. We've been weekly customers at First Watch for many years, but our recent visit was incredibly disappointing under the new management. It feels like the heart of this location is gone. For starters, they advertise a coffee bar, but there was no coffee available for waiting guests. When we asked an employee if we could have some coffee since the mugs, cups, creamers, and sugars were there, they told us it was just for display. As regulars, we know this used to be a nice touch while waiting, not anymore. The wait times were completely inaccurate and handled poorly. Online, it said 15 minutes. Once we arrived, the host told us 20-30. Then another employee came up, didn't even check the list or the tablet, glanced at us, and immediately said "40 minutes." It felt dismissive and honestly left us questioning if we were being judged or discriminated against, especially since the restaurant was nearly empty compared to what we're used to. We also noticed the service was noticeably slower and the staff was mostly new faces. The energy and efficiency that the previous manager upheld are missing now. It's frustrating to see a place we used to look forward to feel so unfamiliar and unwelcoming. We left without eating, which has never happened before. Very disappointed. read more

The only issue my wife and I had, was the meals arrived Luke warm. We also sat for at least 5 Minutes before being approached . I'm really disappointed with my experience here. When we arrived, we were offered two complimentary meals with drinks included, which we appreciated and accepted based on what we were told. However, when the check came, that was not honored as explained, and the bill reflected something completely different than what had been promised. This isn't about the charge itself -- it's about the miscommunication and inconsistency. Saying one thing and then coming back with another is frustrating and uncomfortable as a customer. On top of that, the service was not great overall, which made the situation even more disappointing. If the complimentary offer couldn't be honored, that should have been communicated clearly from the beginning instead of leaving us confused at the end. Unfortunately, because of this experience and the poor service, I won't be returning. I expected better transparency and customer care. read more

While we had our vehicle repaired we stopped at First Watch for breakfast. Once again we were disappointed. As before our food came out Luke warm at best. After just a few moments the food turned cold and I couldn't even finish the eggs. The turkey links were small and virtually tasteless. This will be the last time we dine at First Watch. read more

The Barbacoa Quesadilla Benedict! 10 stars! I wish it was a permanent menu item. I just couldn't believe how good it was! I hope they still have it, I want to go back and have it again. First Watch never disappoints. Been here several times and have enjoyed it every time. This time was just a tad odd, I wanted freshly squeezed OJ. They didn't have any. Huh? A breakfast joint with no OJ? Waiter told me that the manager went to buy oranges after my request. Oh well. The flavors at First Watch are all nicely balanced. Comfortable seating and ambiance and not too loud, either. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. First time at this location, so I was pretty excited to see how this differs compared to your usual locations. Food: My food was pretty good! It was flavorful, tempered correctly, and fresh. Value: Not to bad considering how much food you get. I still think breakfast in general is a bit pricy then it once was. In terms of value, I'd say its OK but not something I would consider a value proposition when you compare to other breakfast establishments. The quality is there so no complaints. My reason for writing this review is not the food but the experience with some employees and the music. Food was okay but music was so loud that you could not hear you self talking I asked on of the employees why is the music so loud and her reply was that people are loud. My response was did you ever think reason why there are so loud is because of the music. Here attitude was very disrespectful and cold. I have as for manager and even the person did not tell the manager that I like to speak with her until one other customer heard me asking if her again about the manager, that she her self got the manager for me. I notified the manager about the situation with the music but her response was next time if we are there then ask them to lower the sound. Spring salad series! I've eaten here many times and have always had great food here! So, as part of my spring salad series, I wanted to check out the chicken avocado salad. The combination of the ingredients was great it actually reminded me of a southwest salad, especially with e Chipotle vinegarette, but unfortunately, the salad didn't taste as fresh as I had hoped. It was OK, but I would either order again to see if maybe they get the freshness right next time or just skip the salads altogether. Again, I love the food here. Who could sit inside when the weather is getting nice like this? Got the corn beef hash and mullion dollar bacon. How do you say no to this bacon? It's so good every time. I am always disappointed with this place. This is a chain that seems to impose its own ideas of good food, rather than providing more standard classics. Last time I tried their elote burrito, which was flavorless. Why not stick with more locally oriented standards, like huevos rancheros and breakfast burritos? It is as though they just try too hard and lose focus. And the chairs are hideous. Who in their right mind would have hard, cold and miserable metal chairs. I'm guessing the investors or owners never eat here. If they did they would have a clue. I'll stick with local establishments who are much more in tune and cognizant of what their customers want. We were told a 30 minute wait, no problem it's a Saturday. We waited quite a while and when we went in to check found out that the hostess had punched in the wrong number for us to contact us for our table. They put us next in que for a table. Once at the table we noticed the salt was empty and the creamer container was full of trash. Our server was very nice but everything happened pretty slowly. Our food was very good once we got although it was partially cold as though it had been sitting a while. Once we were done eating our waitress was nice enough to get us drinks to go. Not every egg is a good egg. Be on the hunt... catch that? Not too crowded,,a 15 min wait, great staff and service. I say this lovingly, we sat in a very air-conditioned space and no, I am not complaining because it was 110 outside. Something in the distribution of the freon ac that triggers my headaches, no biggie. Because the Million dollar bacon and the Million dollar Bloody Mary helped out. This was a solid experience. I wouldn't go back anytime tomorrow but maybe on Monday? Enjoy. Stay hydrated. And Meditate while appreciating the goodness of good times at a table with family and friends. I went here today for breakfast at 9am (Saturday) and only waited about 10 mins to be seated. I had the Salmon Eggs Benedict and first noticed the hollandaise sauce was very lemon-y. Overall the dish with potatoes was really good but not super filling. I was able to get in and out in an hour. Their wifi was a bit slow. I ordered the Pesto Chicken Quinoa bowl to go for lunch and it was delicious but again, not super filling. read more

May 11, 2023 Party of 6 Atmosphere - 3 stars: Large dining room that is loud and can be difficult to hold a normal conversation when busy. Everything seemed clean and nicely decorated. They do have an anti Second Amendment sign when you walk in. Normally, I would have left, but this was a large party for brunch.   Service - 4 stars: Service was good as we were greeted promptly. Server knew the menu well and was very nice. The only issue was that our food didn't hit the table at the same time. 3 plates arrived, then 5 minutes later, 2 more showed up, and then finally, the last plate showed up.   Food - 4 stars: I ordered the Inspired Italian omelet with potatoes and toast. The potatoes were super salty, but the omelet was delicious and a decent sized portion. The water is horrible, though. Order a soft drink or coffee and avoid the water. read more

LOCATION: Right on river and Oracle SERVICE: Probably due to the location, this place can get quite crowded on weekends for brunch; highly recommend calling ahead or going early. Service was friendly and efficient. FOOD: Ok, the million dollar bacon had some high expectations to live up to....let me tell you it was like eating a never-ending gobstopper; there were so many different wonderful flavors going on in my mouth at different times. Sweet maple syrup that contrasted with the spicy cayenne pepper with the umami flavor of the bacon. I will always order this dish when I go and I'm determined to figure out how to make this type of bacon at home. The Lemon Ricotta pancake was decent; this sure is a hearty pancake. The pancake itself was good, nothing special about it but I was satisfied by it. The lemon ricotta topping lacked a real lemon flavoring that I was looking for. We are not from Tucson, were visiting and just driving up Oracle looking for a place for lunch. Sign caught our eye, had never heard of First Watch so my wife looked it up and put us in their wait queue as I turned around and drove us there. Went in and found out there would be no wait and were seated right away (it was a little after 11:00 so no lunch rush yet). It took me a while to peruse the menu as there are many good choices. Selected "Parma Hash" which kind of sounded like Italian version of corned beef hash which is a diner touchstone for me. Also ordered one of their fancy drinks. This was a little disappointing, taste was fine but it was not as fancy as the picture on the table tent. See attached photo which was taken after I took one sip just to taste it. Otherwise that's how it was presented. Hash was not bad but VERY greasy, and yes I shouldn't be surprised that something with sausage and cheese in it is greasy but seemed unusually so. When it came time to pay we were a little confused. Turns out you pay up front like a Denny's or any other diner. Usually check presented by itself without a folder or tray means pay a cashier and that was the case here but a little surprising as the joint feels more upscale. read more

My husband has been wanting to eat here for a long while. We are so glad we did! I believe our server was new, but she did a great job never the less. Decided to give it a shot, glad we did - Great breakfast experience from friendly greeting as we walked in, quick seating, and our server Alex was on it bringing coffee & water while we checked out the menu. Plenty of options with a little bit of something for most folks. The dining area is nicely done, spacious and once seated felt like we left the desert behind. Hard to explain, but inside felt different than most eateries in area and the restroom was nice & clean, and not a small cubby hole thrown in the back as an afterthought. We ordered the hardwood smoked bacon and Tacos Al Pastor Hash, we shared between the two of us. I loved the Bacon, mix of sweet & savory. My wife took a moment, but it grew on her. Not always a fan of sweet mixed with anything other than candy & baked goods. The Tacos were awesome, comes with (2) corn shells, they brought us (2) more when we asked. We both have different tastes, but we both agree - Amazing !!! I loved the flavor the pineapple brought to the dish. I crumbled up one of the bacon strips and added to my taco - Took it over the Top !!! The only sad thing was that we were told it was seasonal. The coffee was served very hot & very delicious, not your basic tasting chain restaurant brew. So good, we took some to go. What took our first experience over the top was the table visit by the manager Fernanda (hope I spelled correctly). Went back for a second time, on the location on Irvington. We did the call ahead option. On their website to places for a table waitlist. It's stated 45 minutes to an hour wait time. So we showed up at around 40 minutes from the week. It took approximately another 10 minutes to get a seat. I was able to get in quickly. There's a lot of people that go to this location so be ready to wait at least half an hour to an hour. The service was fantastic. They came out quickly. Server brought out our drinks quickly. And was ready to take our orders. We placed our orders and it came out very promptly within 10 minutes. The food was fantastic very flavorful, the pancakes were delicious and great flavor. Perfectly cooked. The burrito was a Carnitas burrito that was over stuffed and was more than enough food for at least two meals. I am glad that we decided to give it a second chance and try out something different. We will definitely be back. Went on app to get on the wait list. It was 20 minutes, no problem. We get there to check in after 20 minutes and they tell us it will be 20-25 minutes as they had a rush of people come in. So explain to me what good it does to sign up for the wait list if it doesn't mean anything. We will not be going to First Watch any time soon. Plenty of better options out there! read more
