It had been quite sometime since we last dined here at this location. We celebrated a birthday for brunch on 8/10/2024. The four of us waited briefly while a table was becoming available. The staff were kind and professional. The food was so so, due to his small portion sizes and lack of flavor. My $10 waffle was very small, but tasty good. The fruit compote was tint too, even compared to the waffle. Our seasoned potatoes were undercooked. Our self service water pitcher kept leaking while pouring our drinks. 1 order of food came out at a time, making it hard to dine together with our party. Overall I wouldn't want to return if the operations continued like this. All of our guests left this First Watch still hungry after eating all our food and over paying for it in the meantime. On my most recent visit, I had the Tri-Fecta breakfast plate, and a side of potatoes. The Floridian French Toast is honestly one of my favorites. It's the perfect combo of thick slices of French toast topped with fresh strawberries, bananas, and kiwis. The Tri-Fecta? A dream! The eggs are cooked perfectly (over easy eggs only ) the bacon is crispy, It's the perfect mix of flavors. Now, that's the usual First Watch experience that I love. The food, the service, and the overall atmosphere have always been top-notch. But I've got to mention something that happened on Easter Sunday that definitely made things a bit awkward. A young guy and his older father were seated at the table right next to me and my boyfriend, and honestly, the experience got a little uncomfortable. From the moment they were seated, the guy seemed annoyed about where they were placed, and he immediately started complaining about how long it took for the server to take their order. He kept saying how he "knew what he wanted" as soon as he sat down and acted pretty frustrated. Me and my boyfriend, who's worked as a server, just looked at each other and tried not to get involved. Though it was hard because the tension was pretty palpable. Luckily, we were finishing up and about to pay, so we didn't have to sit through the whole situation. The guy ordered his meal with a gluten-free allergy, but when his food arrived, it wasn't gluten-free. That's when things really escalated. He got really upset, and three staff members (including two managers) came out to handle the situation. They reassured him that they had brought him a new plate with gluten-free bread, but he was not having it. He kept asking, "How many people does it take to get my order right? THREE PEOPLE??" He was snappy with the staff, and his father just sat there silently and watched his adult son throw a fit, which honestly made the whole thing worse. Like, dude, you're a grown man...maybe take a deep breath? It was a little embarrassing to witness, but I will say, the staff handled it SO well. They stayed calm, were super accommodating, and did everything they could to make sure he was taken care of. Even though we didn't see how it ended, we hoped that the guy's mood turned around. Easter Sunday shouldn't be ruined by that kind of attitude! All that being said, I will never stop being a customer at First Watch. They handled the situation with professionalism and grace, and I still think this place is amazing. I had the power breakfast quinoa bowl with a chicken sausage sub for the the pork sausage. The bowl was bland. I was bored with it after the third bite. Maybe the chicken sausage takes some blame here but it was missing a sauce or flavor to really send it home. Looks like a place for dates or small groups of people. Service here is wonderful. They keep an eye out for their customers, and the front desk is very welcoming. For food, I got the tri-athlete and some coffee. The omelette was light and kept me running for the rest of the day. It was just what I was looking for in a brunch. First Watch is a solid breakfast/brunch spot that successfully walks the line between healthy and indulgent. Their regular menu has a lot of staple items (omelettes, pancakes, hashes, etc.) that are good -- I particularly like the Elevated Egg Sandwich -- but I recommend ordering from their seasonal menu. Obviously the seasonal menu changes throughout the year, but of the current offerings I had and was very pleased with the Carnitas Breakfast Burrito. It's a burrito of pork carnitas, scrambled eggs, black beans, potatoes, avocado, and cheese, served on a whole wheat tortilla with pico, pickled onions, and crema. It was a touch on the salty side, but still quite good. I also recommend First Watch's juices. I like their Morning Meditation (orange, lemon, and beet juice with turmeric, ginger, and agave nectar), which is available all the time. Today, though, I got the Iced Chai Cider from the seasonal menu, and it was absolutely fantastic. It's a mixture of apple and pear juice with chai tea, garnished with a cinnamon stick. I wanted about a gallon more of it! One sour note: my water glass was visibly dirty (lipstick on the rim) and my friend's glass was chipped. What a terrible experience! I love first watch and regularly eat here across the us. This location though- I would heartily NOT recommend. I came in and after a 5 min wait was acknowledged and seated. Then I waited, and waited, and waited. After 15 mins I got the hostess who took my entire order as no server showed up. I then waited another 10 minutes- in which my server showed up with my water (but no glass) and my iced tea. No acknowledgement of waiting 25+ minutes just to get a drink. I finally got the sandwich I ordered, only to discover that the egg inside of it was raw (clear and runny) and a small tablespoon of avocado. I waited another 10 minutes to find a server, and when I explained to them the issue, they offered to bring me more potatoes. (What?!?!) At that point I asked to speak to a manager... And I waited an additional 10 minutes with no one coming over. I finally went to the front counter to pay-, at which point the manager finally acknowledged me and apologized for the issue with my food. I can totally understand the kitchen under cooking, or messing up a sandwich... What is unacceptable is waiting almost 40 minutes in total to not actually eat any food. Hugely crazily disappointing. Once again, they have failed to fulfill what their menu says the waitress said well I can go back and get you some more vegetables and I said why were they not in the orders to start out with, the manager of this restaurant needs to look into who is cooking. They had some great large family style tables available, seems like a good spot for large groups. Coffee was great, they have a complimentary coffee station in the waiting area. I had the egg, bacon, gruyere breakfast sandwich that came with breakfast potatoes and my other half had the tri-fecta breakfast with a Belgian waffle, bacon, and scrambled eggs. We shared a single carrot cake pancake. The waffle was really tasty, crispy outside-fluffy inside. The pancake was also really good, not over the top sweet like I was expecting. If you're a carrot cake fan I recommend it. The rest of our meals were ok overall. Everything else on our plates was pretty salty for our preferences. For a big franchise.... Not a bad place for breakfast. There aren't any 100% vegan items and nothing like tofu, Just Egg, or plant-based sausage to sub with any of the entrees. They do have a superfood bowl, which has chia pudding, granola, and fruit, if you don't mind the honey in your granola. Mine came with an almond butter toast that might have been good if it wasn't covered in sea salt. They have excellent juices and really good coffee. It is a plus that the coffee comes in a carafe, so you don't run out during your meal. I wouldn't come back here myself but it looked alright for meat eaters. Not bad. A little inconsistent. Firstly, we drank half our water before we noticed food remnants in our glasses. That was replaced, but the server then whom I think was the manager, left the bottle and our original glasses sitting there the whole time as a reminder to check our plates and flatware. The Million Dollar bacon was four soggy slices for $5.99. Nothing special. I don't recommend it. The potatoes were oily and a tad salty, we'd rather salt our own. The lemon ricotta pancakes were excellent, however. The lemon curd was good quality, it would have been nice if the strawberries had the black parts and mushy pieces were removed prior to plating. It's a nice enough place I suppose. I'm gonna sound cranky but its always, and has tired farm decor if anyone cares. I could never take my elderly parents there. Whatever, it will become a time capsule. I do appreciate the bus station being out of sight from the dining room. It was uncomfortable to walk past to get to the ladies restroom, which has a door with peeling paint. You can't effectively clean that. The restroom floor is like much of Tucson, needing a power wash or deep scrub. My grandmother would have walked out. We go there when we need to kill time getting our car serviced nearby. We wouldn't otherwise seek out this place. After this visit I'm a little ishy about eating there. read more

This was my first visit to this line of Restaurants. Very open and clean, lots of parking. We were four, seated right away. Endless refill coffee carafe on the table. VG No asking needed. Our server was nice. No name tags. Food served by others. My friend had "a" buttermilk pancake, which he liked but only one choice of syrup. He returned the biscuit and sausage gravy. No meat visible and the color was off. Not appetizing. Charge removed. I had the classic eggs Benedict. But, I prefer Canadian bacon, this was ham, thin sliced, small pile, and cold. On some type of oval slice of bread. No discernible Hollandaise sauce and two slices of nice tomato on top. Not classic in my sense. And a small green arugula salad. Not again. This was my opportunity to have Grits on the side, That was delish. Our other friend had the Benedict with spinach and she liked it. And my wife had the egg white omelet with veges and it was outstanding. I had the other half this am. I really want Cb hash and eggs but the only Hash served is mixed with eggs or a mixed skillet and scrambled. So I passed on that. I would go back for the prompt service and my wife's omelet... One thing I wondered about was paying the bill. One or all of us has to get in line to pay, same desk as reception. So the person is greeting and showing you to your table, & new guests waiting out the door and a another long line of guests with purses and jackets in line again to pay. I failed to get a picture of the Trail Blazer bowl. But, it was fresh and delicious. The turkey was moist shredded freshly roasted Turkey breast. The half an avocado was ripe and covered with the delicious seed combination. The sweet potatoes were tender with just out of a crunch. Scrambled eggs were perfectly done and will season. I stopped by after a doctor's appointment because everyone raves about the food here. I have to admit it was my second time. I returned because I was so underwhelmed with my first visit that I had to give them another chance to wow me. I had the salmon eggs Benedict which has always been a favorite of mine. I thought the dish would actually be a slice of fresh salmon but in was a the style of salmon you'd buy packaged in a grocery store. Unfortunately it was rather a slimy slice and was somewhat tasteless. The million dollars bacon was super tasty but not worth the price. The portions were somewhat small for the price I paid. I had a bloody mary and a 'to go' juice. The bloody was excellent but, again, a small size for the price. My second visit was as underwhelming as my first visit. I did notice the restaurant tables were only filled about 1/4 to capacity. It was a busy time so that probably says at all. The service was EXCELLENT and I tipped well because she deserved to be acknowledged for her service. I probably won't return and I'll stick to the mom and pop places I usually go to. read more

Last night I attended the Elite event for the new fall menu at First Watch. We were introduced to the menu while being served non-alcoholic Moscow Mule's to start. They were made with real pomegranate juice and cane sugar. I enjoyed the flavor since they were not overly sweet. Next, the items were introduced and presented one at at a time. The dishes served were quite unique and very flavorful. First watch has upped their game with cage free eggs and fresh ingredients. The first item was a mushroom frittata with arugula salad and a cream cheese topping. Manager let us know they even put some of the herb cream cheese into the pan as they're cooking the frittata. The cream cheese took me back to memories of my cream cheese bagels in NY. It was all fresh and light and flavorful. The second item was an Applewood smoked pork chop. It was quite flavorful and had a flavor resemblance of ham or bacon. I especially liked the freshly made apple sauce on top. My guest especially like the cheesy grits. She said they were the best grits she's had in a long time. They were very smooth and creamy. The last item served was pumpkin pancakes. I was really looking forward to it. But the pancakes let me down as they tasted like a regular pancake to me. My partner and I both could not detect the pumpkin flavoring. It was served with a chicken sausage patty. Some of the elites really enjoyed the sausage, but I found it dry and nothing that fantastic. Still, overall I give First Watch a lot of kudos. First, any money collected this evening from the elites was donated to charity. Additionally, they told us that several items on the menu would donate money (like for each pancake served) to "No kid hungry". Furthermore, they are using cage free eggs and fresh ingredients. The food tasted like the staff really cares about their customers. Isn't that what it's all about? And the giving back is certainly a huge plus! read more

First Watch is a convenient and comfortable place for brunch. It's not a fancy place- it falls into a regular place, a place that can become a regular Sunday brunch place. The food has a very fresh and homemade taste. I ordered scrambled eggs with a fresh pressed green juice. The eggs were at a normal consistency with a natural taste. Breakfast/brunch here is worth the wait. They had a fall seasonal menu that ended after today, so I went with the biscuit sandwich and it was one of the best. She definitely had good taste. We ordered two clubs from the menu; and for me I ordered tomorrow soup separately. Great coffee, great food, and great service. For another time, we're looking forward to trying different entrees on the menu. We even kept the little papers that held our utensils together.
