We love First Watch. You have to move quick or use the app to get in line as it can get busy quickly, but it's because it is just so darn good. First off, the decor is delightful. Lots of windows amd natural light. The coffee is amazing. Service is also good, however I do feel they could use a little bit more training in customer service as we've had some very snarky, albeit busy waitstaff. I get it though, this place gets slammed. The Parma Hash is my favorite and it is always a hit. Every. Single. Time. It would be nice to be able to get a mimosa or bloody mary though for brunch. Super food! I got the loaded smoked salmon bagel which was amazing! My husband (I grudgingly have him a bite) couldn't get over the pickled onions which were one of the highlights. The salmon was oh so flavorful, rich, and not at all salty. Bagel was perfect. Hubby got the works omelette and loved it. Decor was fantastic and the place was so lovely and calm feeling. Place felt really clean and sanitary, and felt safe, especially at this time. Waitress was great, lived even little things like the extra water at the table. Will come back again. I have previously eaten at First Watch's other location and found it horrible. The service was bad, the food was bad and I really just didn't enjoy the experience at all. So much so I posted a bad review. First Watch reached out to me and sent me a gift card for my trouble. I took that gift to the sunshine location and was so pleased with the results. The food was delectable and the service impeccable. Maybe my experience at the National location was a fluke? But I would definitely go back to the Sunshine location. The French toast was very fluffy and the fresh fruit on top was very good. And the compote was even better. My boyfriend really enjoyed his omelette as well. read more

We have eaten here since it opened. Service was great. Food was great. However, in the last year service has taken a nose dive. Today after waiting 15 minutes we had to ask the person who seated us if we had a waitress. It took another 5 minutes for someone to come. All this time several waiters and waitresses passed by our booth. No one asked if we had been helped. We still love the food. Love the coffee pot on the table. In the future, we will be driving a little further to the National Battlefield location. They don't have the app turned on so you can't get in line ahead of time, found that out the hard way. After waiting for 20 mins to get a table, we waited for over an hour for our food. Kids pancakes were hard like they sat under the heat lamps for quite some time, girls egg was over cooked. It seems they don't have an appropriate staffing in the kitchen to keep up with the customers. This is our second poor experience at this location, don't think we will be back. We had breakfast here this morning, and it was fantastic. We had a large group, so I used the app to get in line for a table. My only complaint is that the app only lets you pick up to 6 people. Easy fix though - when I got there, I told them our actual number was 12. We didn't have to wait long for our table, and the waiter came right over to get our drink order. We used the First Watch app to order curbside takeout today. After placing our order it said "Please call when you arrive so we can bring your order out to you." When we got there we called, but no answer. We tried calling for 15 minutes and nobody would pick up the phone. Also, its worth noting the restaurant was filled to 100% capacity, and the lobby/waiting area was packed, when the Springfield, MO city ordinance is currently set to 50% max due to the pandemic. And none of the staff were wearing masks. (This restaurant is floor to ceiling windows so everything is clearly visible from outside.) So we asked a customer that was waiting outside if they could let the host stand know we are out here waiting for our takeout order. A few minutes later a VISIBLY UPSET employee came out with our food. She said they no longer offer curbside pickup and was EXTREMELY RUDE. My wife asked why nobody answered the phone, and she said they were way too busy for that. Today is Father's Day and it seems their management decided to go for it and just ignore the local laws, and their staff couldn't handle the rush of customers. Obviously we will never go to First Watch again after being treated so rudely. If they stopped offering curbside pickup... then someone forgot to update their app. We didn't deserve to be yelled at for their mistake. Also, its disappointing to see they not asking their employees to wear masks. Oh, and on top of all that we realized when we got home they didn't include our side of bacon. read more

Beautiful building but management is everything. Where the Battlefield and National location excels this one fails. Breakfast delivered barely warm even though it was early, there were few customers there, and we'd waited a long time. Guessing it was under the lights while staff chatted. No offer of coffee to go, syrup was cold, charged extra to sub a biscuit for a muffin. C'mon those muffins have to cost more per unit than a biscuit! We'll drive further to go to the Battlefield and National location where the service is friendlier and faster, food (and syrup) is warm, they accommodate substitutes without an upcharge, and generally make us feel like valued customers. read more

This location had been great since it first opened. In the last few months there service particularly from their hostesses have dropped. Twice now the hostess is rude and condescending requiring us to talk to the manager who apologized for her behavior. They advertise delivery by DoorDash but DoorDash has never allowed delivery, it just says you can't pick a time. So we called to make a pickup order and explained delivery isn't working, the hostess laughed and hung up on us. Patronize another breakfast place and don't waste your time if they cannot hire or train hostesses capable of customer service. read more

"Spur of the moment" decision to try this place, mainly because we happened to be in the area. It really is a beautiful place, but the décor is the only thing about it that was welcoming. I was careful to check the hours of operation since I am paranoid about going inside a place that is preparing to close. Posted hours said open till 2:30, and we walked in at 12:30, so plenty of time, right? Nope. Took a long time to be acknowledged and seated, it wasn't at all busy or crowded, and it became obvious that the staff's priority was getting things closed down. Through the course of our visit, we were passed off from waitress to waitress (3 different people), but mostly ignored. Food took a long time, and some things were cold by the time we were served. Nothing we had was bad; I would just describe it as uninspired, and also in-line with the sloppy service attitude. I have no reason to return. read more

We downloaded the app before going to location to put on names on the table wait list. Server was quick and so nice. The bacon was awesome. Our table had a variety of the options on the menu and all were delicious. We went on Mother's Day and they even brought out a box of Mother's Day chocolates when we were finished with our meal. Awful service and communication is an understatement. Not to mention treatment of customers. Checked the app multiple times on my 30 minute drive to the restaurant to make sure I did not need to get on the waitlist with a group of 5 and a high chair. Every time I checked it said no wait, no wait, no wait. When we got in the restaurant there was a wait but I was told it would be just a few minutes. As we waited for 40+ minutes groups of 4 were being seated ahead of us at tables that could fit us. Hostess kept apologizing to me. I reached my max with the behavior of this staff when an African American hostess (without the knowledge of the head hostess) seated her two African American friends (that just walked in while others had been waiting 30+ minutes to be seated) at a huge booth meant for a large party. Then another two African American friends come in and she seats them promptly in another booth ahead of several other parties that had been waiting a very long time. These people were not on the wait list, I heard the conversations as they walked in. The main hostess came back and saw that other hostess had seated these people ahead of us and quickly apologized to me again stating she did not know why those people were seated before us. We were finally seated 45 minutes after arriving being told the wait would be short. We had small children with us which made everything much more frustrating not to mention the blatant discrimination against all the people who had been waiting for a long time and the African American hostess seating her friends ahead of everyone. This was my second time trying First Watch and I was excited to try the new, really nice looking location in hopes of the food not being too salty and take my son here for his first time. Thank goodness for my sons good company because the service here was dull, lifeless and unwelcoming. Our server finally greeted us after a long wait, didn't even tell us her name. Only one employee there made eye contact and smiled at us while we waited to be greeted and said a server should be right with us. I wish we would've been in her section, she seemed like she wanted to be there. For being such a nice, new beautiful location, I would not go back due to the terrible service and lack of enthusiasm from the staff just to drop nearly $30 for brunch.
