We haven't been here for awhile. There use to be a long wait list. For some reason there wasn't a line today and the restaurant was not very busy. We sat outside and they hadn't replaced the awning that the hurricane damaged. I ordered the breakfast Tri-fecta and my wife the avocado toast. We both liked our choices. Piss Poor Move. We bought the $50 gift card and got a $10 bonus in December. No one explained it expired in February. We go about every week. We use the $50.00 card and could have used the $10.00 card had we known it expires worthless. Well after going every week as part of our Pickleball routine, I can assure you I will never step foot in a First Watch again. I have never heard of such a short expiration on a gift card. We have bought more than a dozen cards from Sarasota restaurants and have never ever run into such a poor management decision. Shame on you. Well you got to not honor the $10 and you lost two customers for life. I'll be sure to warn my friends about your gift card promotions. read more

Got a gift card at Christmas for First Watch and was lucky enough to have a location near where we were staying in Sarasota. We thought it would be great to get some sandwiches to go from here and bring it to the beach. When I went there to place my order the waitstaff was very nice. Even though it was busy they checked the amount I had on my card and offered a suggestion for a side that ended up being very tasty (their potatoes). I ordered the garden veggie sandwich and my husband got the roast beef sandwich. First Watch is always a solid choice for me. I always have exceptional meals here...consistent and great service also no matter if I eat in or take out. I like the selection and I find that there is something that caters to every taste and preference. I am a fan of the wild salmon frittata and their delectable whole grain toast and dressed greens. I also like their breakfast potatoes which used to have an option as being gluten free but not sure if that option is still available. Don't sleep on a First Watch lunch or brunch-their quinoa power bowls are delicious. I do also enjoy their seasonal special offerings. If you haven't already you'd better try First Watch. I revisited an old friend A few years ago my wife and I used to eat at First Watch restaurants very frequently. They are an outstanding restaurant, but we did eventually branch out more and more to other places. Then Covid hit, and we didn't eat out at all. Back at the table, I stopped in this morning to revisit an old friend, their Parma Hash Skillet. It was great. This was my first visit to this location post Covid, but I have visited others. I already knew ketchup now comes in single serving metal containers instead of from a bottle, there is no longer candy up at the register. I'm adjusting - lol. As I said, the Parma Hash was great, flavorful with all sorts of ingredients, topped by a couple of eggs. As far as I'm concerned one of the best skillets around. It only took 5-6 minutes from when I ordered it to when I got it. And when you order coffee, First Watch gives you a pot, putting you in charge of topping off your cup. All good things. I also got to revisit an old friend, one of the First Watch managers I had not seen in years. That was nice, we used to feel like we were almost part of the First Watch family because we went there so often. That he remembered me today, maybe we were. read more

The boss had the carrot cake and banana pancakes and I had the 1/2 sandwich and salad 2 for lunch. The pancakes are huge. I should have taken a picture but they are massive. Order the maple syrup with the pancakes or else you'll get pancake syrup. The boss said the pancakes are yummy. My ham and gruyere sandwich with Cobb salad was also yummy. Good toasted bread and fresh greena with a couple slices of fresh avocado and bacon. Service was a bit slow, but I think they are slightly understaffed like everywhere else. It was my favorite breakfast /lunc place for years. Attentive friendly staff . Two weeks ago I had ordered the chicken protein bowl, my favorite. The service was a mess, the tiny portion left me hungry . No refill offered for the ice tea. After requesting my bill,I just waited.. Asked a nother waiter to help me out, find my server. A nother long wait! The manager asked me if I was satisfied as usual I told him about the service issues and complained about the extremely reduced portion, what left me with a hafty bill and hungry. I was informed that the portions were reduced because previously they "oversized" and this is the future portion. I don't understand the five star raves for this place....but to each his own. Stopped off on a Sunday morning and explained to Nick the host I was in a hurry. My order was taken quickly and the food did come out in a decent time. when I explained to Nick I was looking for a combination eggs and pancake he suggested the Trifecta. The eggs and bacon were cold but the pancake was decent. I just can't understand why the meal doesn't include two pieces of bread to sop up the eggs. This place used to be a happening place where bikers would fill the place up on a Sunday morning. At 9 a.m. the place was mostly empty. There has to be a reason why people are staying away. We visit this First Watch three times a month and have never been disappointed. The pancakes are large and tasty. The quinoa breakfast bowl is delicious. There are at least 10 choices on the menu I would order again and again, but also the occasional special of the month to change it up. But the best part of our visit is the outstanding service. The staff makes you feel like they really care. Menu modifications are no problem, drinks are kept full, and they are so attentive and easy to talk to. I've been coming here since 2004, and the service/food quality has never failed to impress me. This time, I came with a party of 9 and they pushed two tables together for us. I had breakfast here yesterday 10/20/21 Krystal was my server. She was very pleasant and very attentive. This was my first time to First Watch. The menu was very extensive and you can get gluten free meal if you want. I had a dish with 2 eggs scrambled over home fried potatoes with a blend of fresh mushrooms. It was delicious and everything was cooked perfectly. I'll be back. I highly recommend this place for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. They are not open for dinner. I would just recommend a stronger coffee especially for that price.... and my greens on the side could use LOTS more of that lemon sauce the menu says it has on it. My turkey sandwich on sourdough could also be so much better with a sauce crafted for that dish. It wasn't tasty enough to scarf down. The hubby and I had breakfast here today. I'm pretty sure this was our first "sit down at a restaurant" meal since COVID started. The server was very nice, but you could tell the staff was overwhelmed and the food took awhile. When it finally did come, it was very good. I had the "Elevated Egg Sandwich" and my husband had the avocado toast. I didn't really care for the side of sausage gravy I ordered, it was both peppery and bland at the same time. They have lots of fun new drinks- juices and alcoholic beverages- that we will have to try next time. I will say that they are due for a small remodel. The bathrooms are looking rough, as well as the moldy ceiling tiles. It's an older building. The view of the lake is fantastic though, very peaceful.
