Well tried the restaurant as it was right by our hotel. There was quite a wait even though there were tables open, but like most places they had hiring signsup and were showing it here. I've never taken the name of a chain and went with it to discover the "who is this person and what's their deal" but I just might this go - round, but the meal was such a series of screwups by screwballs, the mere thought of typing to learn is in deep waters way below my thoughts. Walking in "yu piggin yup"? No, it's Saturday morning and I'm sitting down. Why would I be picking up? What's the probability of that? More people pick up than sit? Highly doubtful - but it's that glazed over look I've seen here and it's not just her - it's the look of being just not too swift. Then wet towel guy wipes the crumbs but left a pool of dirty water that my menu stuck to - one full napkin to dry it, my only napkin - and sits me next to a family with 4 screaming little noise makers. So I moved myself in a cozy spot almost atop the garbage to get away. Not too swift. Devin shows up and begins to get a handle on this Lord of the Flies situation - second day of his and seemingly already seeing the writing on the wall. A sweet fellow, a real server and above this place because it's those employees that have to carry the rest of the dead wood. "Extra crisp" home fries were cold, undercooked, deflated and sad - motioned Devin who took em back and got me what I ordered - pancakes were just pitiful - heavy and undercooked the sausage patties were overcooked to a charred burnt blackness - I mean, shall I continue with this any further? A Friday morning and the manager tells myself and the three other customers standing in the lobby that he will be back in ten minutes ....apparently they are short staffed. (What else is new?) Never returned. Wait staff not helpful. Asked to at least be seated. Denied. Why stand? Walked out. Bob, you need to do better. Perkins closed. You may not be the next best breakfast option. The server was great. The food was hit and miss. The scrambled eggs and the pancakes were perfect! The country fried steak and home fries was over cooked. But my complaint has nothing to do with the food. It has to do with the girl at the register. She was not pleasant at all, never said a word, not hi, no sorry for keeping you waiting. When I know she saw my server put my stuff in a bag and put it on the counter and she walked away. She kept me standing there waiting and walkes right past me to seat new customers. Finally she get to me and never says a word. I give her my bill, and tell her I have a loaf of bread and two pieces if candy in the bag, she didn't add them in and started to walk away. I said wait you didn't add in my other items. Again she says nothing, corrects my bill, hands me my receipt and walks away. But there's more.. there was another elderly woman standing behind me. This girl couldn't miss her, but she walked away. I hope management sees this. Her name is Nily and she needs retraining in her customer service skills. We went to Bob Evans to get a quick meal last night. The restaurant isn't too far from our house and so we decided to give it a try. We would not recommend this place to anyone who resides in Sarasota because there are just too many great restaurants in this city. As far as travelers jumping off I-75 for a quick meal... KEEP GOING!! Our waitress was best described as "somewhere else". My turkey dinner arrived to the table cold and my husband's fried chicken dinner was a big disappointment to him. The description of "fried chicken" was nowhere to be found on the plate. When we went to pay the manager who was working the cash register couldn't even ask us how everything was. I think he knew what the answer would have been! Next time we are hungry and tired we'll drive the extra miles for better food, and better service. A great place to go if you're looking for traditional comfort foods at a fair price. The waiter was excellent with solid recommendations. All the food came out hot and on time. Seating area was clean,tidy. I did notice most of our food was under spiced. My theory is that they cater more towards the 55+community. But still, great flavors. I order the chicken soup nearly every time I go, it's amazing. They have real buttermilk biscuits that are surprisingly moist and mouth watering which is better then most that give you dry pieces of cement. You also get a lot of food for the price. Party of two, we got two appetizers,two main dishes,drinks,and two deserts for $36. One star was removed for end of service. The cashier Luzmara barely looked at us, no smile or enthusiasm. We went in at 8:30pm so maybe it was end of shift blues, but still, a simple smile at the end of a meal keeps customers coming back. Also, not really relevant but give waitress Mary a raise. Worst experience I've ever had picking up a carry out, and I get take out nearly every day. Placed an order online gave me a pickup time of 11:30 am. I arrive early 11-18 am walked in through the take out door and waited at the podium. There were staff working behind the counter yet not a single person acknowledged me. An old man walked up to the counter and the phone range and a girl came over. While she was in the phone 2 more people walked up. The gal waited on the old guy and of course the old guy didn't say that I had been there first. More and more people were cashing out and I'm still waiting for my order. I finally interrupted and said I had been waiting before all of them. She asked for my name and then pointed behind me and said the order was in shelf. So I stood there the whole freakin time waiting and my order was there, getting cold no less. Why would they not have told me that!! The shelf is behind me I would have never seen it when I walked in. Also I asked for butter, she contributed to wait on other people, why she didn't grab me 5 butters and got me in my way is beyond me. I tipped good on this order in advantage, times like this makes me want to tip after I get there. read more

Super nice people I stopped in for breakfast. A cheerful greeting and a quick cup of coffee got me off to a wonderful start. The place was clean and bright with Christmas music playing in the background. I decided on their Farmer's Choice Breakfast. You get 2 eggs, prepared how you choose. You also have a meat choice, potato choice, and a griddle choice. So many decisions. Mine were over easy, sausage patties, homefries, and their French toast. The sausage was quite lean, potatoes prepared well, and the French toast two thick slices. There was plenty of good food. It took about 10 minutes from order to arrival at my table. My server was super nice, a pleasure to talk to. She and others kept my coffee topped off. You pay at the register when you are finished and the person who took my money was also noticeably nice to talk with. Even other customers were nice with smiles and good mornings. I would not recommend this restaurant. We have ordered takeout twice and both times they have got the order completely wrong. First time was in January after we received a gift card for Christmas and after getting home and realized I gave us the wrong food had to go back and they remade it. The other night we figured we would try again and the same thing. When we placed the order we even had them repeat it back to us. When picking up the food at the store. Everything was correct based on the number of boxes, sauces... Etc. Took the food home opened it and realized they had once again got the orders completely wrong incorrect sauces... Etc. call the store to explain what it happened told us we needed to speak to a manager and we sat on hold for 28 minutes no one ever came on the line. First time ever to a Bob Evans and unfortunately not a good experience. The waiter did a decent job, however the food was vey bland. I ordered the everything bowl that was supposed to hollandaise sauce on it, but it came with about a tablespoon on it. I asked the waiter for a little cup of hollandaise and he said that it would cost me a dollar....Really?, so he said he'd ask his manager. He came back and said sorry it's a dollar. My conclusion is, they could care,Essie they lose a customer over a dollar, there a plenty more to abuse. So this was my last time ever to a Bob Evans and I will certainly share my story! read more

Very awkward experience overall because she clearly was occupied talking to others at the restaurant and just forgot about us. They can never get my take out order right!!! This time I ordered family pot roast dinner with green beans, corn and 12 biscuits! I got pot roast, corn, broccoli and 12 rolls. I open and only took a quick look because there was a guy outside blowing leaves and crap all over my car and in my car!! I had my windows crack some because my dog had come for a quick ride. Not only was my dinner not right "again" but the inside of my car is now dirty!! Last family size pot roast dinner, there where no carrots in the pot roast, no rolls or biscuits, and left out the mashed potatoes and gravy. Consistent food. I have become sort of a foodie. Bob Evan's is a chain and I'm not the fan of chain food. I used to be all for it. Now I definitely still go....So here is my review. I had the usual eggs, bacon, toast, and home fries. All of which were good. Just traditional breakfast. Nothing exciting. Seems "corporate". The bathroom was completely out of toilet paper.
