My girlfriends and I were so disappointed with the chicken salad sandwich at Another Broken Egg. We had high hopes because it has been well advertised lately . However, there was only a drop of chicken salad! All four of us couldn't even taste chicken salad. We just tasted toast with wilted lettuce and tomato. After alerting our server that all four of us had only a tiny smear of the chicken salad, he completely agreed and said he'd get us more. Instead he came back with a coupons to come back for a free meal. I won't be back. They clearly had none in the back, at noon on a Thursday. Came here this morning around 10:15-10:20am as a party of seven. We didn't get our food until 11:25 and most of it was cold. I had to ask for an update on my food. We did not see our waitress much throughout the hour and a half we were there. They did send the manager over to which she comped our meal but had us pay our drinks which was $40 and even charged us for an extra coffee but at that point we just wanted to leave. I do not recommend coming here at all. The service was terrible for the restaurant being mostly empty on the inside and the food did not taste good. We waited 35 minutes for the food to come out only to find everything very cold. The food had clearly been done for awhile. Food was below average but we were starving so we ate it. We could not find our server to get the check so I had to hunt down another person near the register to pay. The bill was 44$ for scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and an English muffin. I'm not sure why the sausage gravy was on the side instead of on top, but it all worked together amazingly. The side of home fries were cooked perfectly, and came well seasoned. My daughter had the kids chocolate chip pancakes for $7. She loved them. These came with scrambled eggs and bacon. The bacon could have been cooked crispier. I think the waitress noticed me trying to talk my kid into trying some beignets that another table had, and she brought us some on the house as a surprise! For breakfast I decided on their Bacquezo Omelette, a cream cheese-filled omelette with sauteed chorizo, Monterey Jack cheese, green onions, and possibly some bits of bacon on top. Had a great experience this morning. First time stopping into Another Broken Egg Cafe for breakfast. Yep, found this place on my ole trusty Yelp App. Waited about 20 mins to be seated which was not bad. They have an outside sitting area set up with large fans. Inside was small but not spacious and nice. I ordered the Mardi Gras Omelette and Hubby ordered the Supreme Omelette. Our waitress Ann was very nice and explained the menu items to us as it was our first time. She brought out some Beignets to the table (no charge). The food was really good and tasty. I was concerned of my omelette being fishy however, it was not. It was well prepared and very tasty. Hubby enjoyed his Supreme Omelette as well. Another jewel spot to add to our list of places to go for an enjoyable meal. I had to come back and add another important comment about Another Broken Egg. I love the shrimp and grits, the mimosas, the country grits are so good, my bacon was absolutely perfect, me and the girls love to come here for brunch. They have several creó inspired dishes. I also come often by myself for an omelette. Sometimes I get pancakes. All of the food is good. The service is sometimes not as good as others days, and you may want to make a reservation end of week. Parking is plentiful, but when waiting for a table seating is limited. The stars aligned and somehow I was able to go for lunch on a weekday. What?!?! There was a short wait. Not long, 15-20 maybe. Weather was nice so we sat outside. Humorously, my seat was behind a giant plant. There were 4 or so benches outside, but a party if six had spread themselves out on most of them. We, two of us, took the last bench and I was hidden behind a plant that was big enough it could camouflage me in the jungle. We laughed about it as we waited to be sat. Our server, Annie maybe, was so sweet. She was friendly, efficient, and very upbeat. Watching her take care of her other tables, it is easy to see she is great at her job. Oh the food. My shrimp and grits were so delicious. I still think about that meal. My boyfriend had a benedict and lemon blueberry pancakes. He hasn't eaten here in a while and had forgotten how good the food was. He said I could share his pancakes once we ordered our food. It was a generous portion, so I left feeling satisfied. The omelette was very good and nice amount of shrimp and crawfish. Traveling and looking for a place to eat breakfast with a dog or multiple dogs is very challenging at times. My wife and I happen to be on a business trip in Sarasota and after we were made aware that our hotel was on offering a warm breakfast we decided to look for a pet friendly breakfast place. We called up A Broken Egg to inquire as to if they were actually pet friendly. We have found at many times that sometimes the restaurant will say they are pet friendly but they are actually not so a phone call is always a wise thing to do. Unfortunately they were so busy that no one would answer the phone which is understandable with the current employment situation. Therefore, we decided to take a drive over to the restaurant check it out and sure enough they had outside seating with ample space between each table. Here in Florida, December is known as a tourist season so it's a little apprehensive about being able to find a table for us to sit with two dogs but sure enough they had two open tables and they were very accommodating including even bringing out a dog doggy dish of water as soon as we sat down. The atmosphere was relaxed with some subtle background music for Christmas playing and the overhead speakers. Our waiters were very attentive offering us coffee and the food we ordered came out very quickly. I wanted biscuits and gravies as I haven't had biscuits gravy in quite a while and often times places that do offer biscuits and gravy, the biscuit is not actually a real biscuit. I found that the sausage and the biscuits and the gravies had a slight sweet honey taste to them which was not really my favorite taste however the food itself was pleasantly delivered and had a appetizing appearance and there was more than enough food to eat. The prices were very reasonable I think my mail was maybe $13 with tax and that was enough food that I couldn't even need it all. When we finish eating and we relax for a little bit sipping our coffee the waiter offered us a to-go cup of coffee which is very accommodating and very nice. I told a bill the two people eating in coffee was about $22 which was very reasonable for a pet friendly outdoor dining restaurant with very appetizing food. I would definitely suggest this restaurant if you are looking for a pet friendly restaurant with outdoor dining. read more
