The place is charming. The service is goods there's street parking here and the place is adorable. It can get pretty busy on weekends. The food and drinks here are pretty great. Also we were pretty impressed on how fast the food came out. And they were busy. Even then the food came out real fast and so did the drinks. We had some French toast and some apresso martinis. Overall the taste was perfect. This place makes real nice food.

Loud and good We had a good visit to Forked, starting before we even arrived. Thanks to one of the reviews on Yelp we learned we could call ahead and get added to their waitlist, shaving 20 minutes off of what would have been a 40 minute wait. It was also Sunday so after checking in we spent the other 20 minutes walking around the Farmers Market at Waterside. The time passed quickly. I had checked out their menu online and looked forward to trying their Let's Hash It Out, a corned beef hash dish with two eggs, hash browns or fruit, and toast or pancakes. I picked fruit because I'm trying to eat healthier, and the pancakes so I can soak them in syrup, a decidedly less healthy decision. It was a very good breakfast. The food took about 10 minutes to arrive, a good time for a restaurant that was busy. I was a little surprised with the hash. I typically see cubed or even smaller pieces of corn beef combined with potato and maybe other ingredients like onion or green pepper. Not at Forked, it was a pile of shredded corned beef with very few potato cubes. There was no question the dish had lots of savory corned beef. Different than usual. Parking in the area was challenging partly because of the Farmers Market, but we got a spot that was being vacated. The restaurant was loud. Service was great, from the pleasant hostess who remembered us from when we checked in when it was our turn to be seated, to our helpful server who did a perfect job.

Second visit was a huge disappointment. Walked in, maybe 5 tables with guest, and counter completely empty. I'm alone, asked if counter was open. I'm figuring you'll get better service at the counter if you're all by yourself. Hostess ask what I would like to drink? Off to a good start. Hostess brings my water and coffee no spoon no cream and walks away quicker than I could ask for either one. I figure it's OK. My server will be right up six minutes later no one has come by the counter. In fact, I only saw one server who was busy bringing refill drinks to another table. Got up to see hostess, no hostess. Guess no food for me. Off I go to eat elsewhere. Food pics are from my first visit. Drink special menu is from today's July 2024 disappointment visit.

Just recently found "Forked" at Waterside. I met up with a friend and we both loved our breakfasts. The corned beef hash was fantastic as were the eggs and the perfectly cooked crispy hash browns. I would like to see a slight tweaking of the pancakes but they were still good. The service was very good as is the atmosphere. I will definitely be going back again soon. The tall fresh squeezed OJ was good but outrageously expensive. Our server was Dakota and she was fantastic.

Located at Lakewood Ranch's Waterside Place, Forked is in a great location! But is it all that it's hyped out to be? I think you'll have to be the judge of that one. But first... Let me tell you about our experience! Forked doesn't allow you to make reservations online and you also can't call ahead to get onto their waitlist. So what did we do? Put our name on the waitlist and walked around the Farmers Market until we got a text that our table is ready. So when did we go? Sunday morning! Forked is the cutest! You walk inside and you are met with smiles, clean and bright colors all around. My first reaction to when we sat down was how stick our table and menus were... It honestly reminded me of when I was in high school and went to Applebees on a Friday night with friends... just gross! Our waitress was super friendly which made our experience much better. But the food? Not worth the high prices... In my opinion. The eggs could've used some salt and pepper when cooking. The pancakes were thin and tasted no different than boxed pancakes. The Hangover Burger was super greasy. Really, the only two dishes that were favorites were the Banana Nutella Crepe and Berry French Toast. I'd like to come back and see if maybe during the week the quality of food would be different!

The food is terrible. Not worth the price. Got the steak and eggs. I'll show you a picture of the steak. You come up with your own conclusion. I couldn't even get a knife through it. Hollandaise sauce was completely broken and looked like curdled milk. Crepe was as thick as French toast with no flavor.

It is my favorite restaurant, but I was disappointed with my third visit there about 10 days ago…read more First there was a hair in the dipping oil just before I put my bread in. The waiter was very nice and he served us a new one, but it's a lousy way to start a meal. Quickly, I'll tell you that the calamari was very good. I love their batter. My husband had a muscle and clam Napolitano appetizer. The seafood was tender and cooked perfectly. The sauce was less savory than I've had in the past. Let's put it this way. You didn't really want to dip your bread into it. Once in a while, I get the desire for meatballs and they were good, but the sauce was not as good as I've had in the past. I can taste good tomatoes when they're in a sauce and in this case, the quality of the tomatoes used as a base in this sauce was subpar. To make matters worse, we were seated in the second table right across from the bar as you walk in And a man came in with three little dogs(not service dogs). He came in to chat at the bar to a friend I assume. I wouldn't mind for a few minutes, but it was at least 3540 minutes that he was there and as we were eating, I could smell the dogs because I had the outside seat and I said something to the waiter and he said he really couldn't do anything about it. The man finally left. But you don't put dogs inside the restaurant right next to where a customer is eating, it's absurd. We did not order dinner dishes. It was a night that we wanted to eat light. It's usually a wonderful place to eat, but not that night....

I had been wanting to try it for months since they opened, and we finally went for our anniversary. I even noted that on the reservation, which made the experience feel like it should have been something special. Unfortunately, it missed the mark. Nothing was outright "wrong" with the host or wait staff, but the overall vibe just wasn't welcoming. For the price point, I expected to leave feeling like it was an incredible, memorable dinner that I couldn't wait to repeat. Instead, we left pretty underwhelmed and unlikely to return. One thing that stood out was that although we noted it was our anniversary on the reservation, nothing was acknowledged at all. That's totally fine, but it does make you wonder why the question is asked in the first place if it's not going to be recognized in any way. The fish itself was fresh, and I do think if I had ordered more simple sashimi or nigiri, I would have enjoyed the food more. However, we ordered a mix of sushi rolls and appetizers, and the rolls just weren't well balanced in flavor. Nothing stood out as something I'd order again. The potstickers (gyoza) were the highlight, honestly some of the best I've had. Beyond the food, there were a lot of small details that added up. The drinks were served in glasses that felt cheap. The silverware felt cheap. Our table was wobbly. The space felt small, loud, and a bit cold in atmosphere. Plates weren't cleared when they should have been, and there were noticeable service gaps. Our server didn't know the answer to a simple question about a drink on the happy hour menu (he did go find out, but it slowed things down). Our meals and desserts didn't come out together, with a pretty significant delay between, which took away from the experience. At the end of the night, it was about a $200 meal that felt more like a $75 experience. We really wanted to love it, but overall it just didn't live up to the expectations they set. There are several other sushi spots nearby that we would choose over this next time we want to go out for sushi. Overall, I'd rate it a 6/10.
