Had the whiskey BBQ burger - it was a solid 4-4.5 stars. Burger was meaty, great flavor and all the fixings were nice except the bacon was pretty wimpy and thin. Sweet potato fries were great! December 19, 2025 - 2 for quick and casual dinner, no reservation, easy in/out before the 9 pm show at FST Theater. Easily walkable from FST and free parking there! This is our/my third visit and so maybe the "charm". Christmas is alive in Sarasota and Main Street, the walk and the scenery were festive and nice! Patrick's is cozy and inviting and well appointed and clean clean clean. (silverware was a little soap or lime stained knives and spoon maybe some jet dry or rinse off?) The odd Sarasota season has some light traffic of cars and people. We are fine with that, seated quickly and given two hard backed chairs for our orthopedic issues/L4/L5 herniated discs and hips (grimace) Very comfortable seating and table ergonomics. Very important : Service was fantastic!! "Kirsten M" was vigilant and attentive, but not pesky or absent. Truly first rate! 10/10 I got the Veggie Burger (no cheese) and Cole slaw side. The burger was a bean burger and of a good quality and composition and cooked nicely, slightly browned on the outside and hot inside. The roll was OK and nothing special, not sure if it was the same roll as my wife's' mushroom burger, but hers was toasted or cooked better. The guacamole on top was a nice thicker texture and a good item for "cheesiness" and moisture. The peppery hinted arugula for the greens an excellent accompaniment. Each part was simple but tasty. This was a good burger!!! 9/10 (roll) My wife got the Mushroom Burger with a side of sweet potato fries. We asked and promptly received a little dish of pickle slices (I should have mentioned in the above Veggie Burger, as a few pickle slices REALLY gave the veggie burger some tanginess.) and her burger and roll were hot and cheese was melty and perfect! Also arugula which rounded out the sandwich very nicely. She really enjoyed this and I "daddy taxed" a bite and it was very good. Her roll was "better" than mine and was warm and fresh? 10/10 As you look around on this night you realize about 90% of the patrons are clearly regulars who maybe have multiple meals a week OR at least a Friday or Saturday or event night watching the many tvs. The bar was packed!!! This must be the closest to a Cheers Bar in Sarasota or maybe SW Florida. Customer satisfaction and repeat business are the main report card!!! Impressive. We had a great visit, The burgers at $17 each was super reasonable and well worth it. My only quip was the Cucumber Martini at $15 was a bit $$ and very frankly if it was $12 my wife might have pondered a second next time. but at least it filled the full size martini glass it was served in..... not like the 2 shot/jigger disaster we had at Sage around the corner the week before for $16??? Anyway drinks on Main Street are a little NY/Manhattan tourist priced. We will definitely be back. I am already planning on being 'needy' and asking for a Beet Salad with maybe the Veggie Bean Burger crumbled on it instead of the Tuna and axe the Blue cheese (yucky)? read more

Ricardo was our server...he was at our table as soon as we sat down. We loved it because we were cold and hungry! A coca- cola place for me scored extra points. They also have a full bar, and happy hour from 3-6pm, which happened to be the witching hour for us. (food and drink specials). We all took advantage of that menu...with a few minor substitutes, Ricardo was gracious granting what we asked to change (things like switching out sauces, making fries extra crispy, etc., sharing plates.) like fish tacos, wings, fries, cheeseburger sliders...delicious. I feel bad posting a bad review because the bartender was new and didn't have a clue but we had placed Togo orders at the bar with her and her trainer and the salad could not have been more wrong. Wrong salad and not to mention there wasn't any dressing for it either. French onion soup had the bread and cheese already in the container. Atmosphere was nice, there was a great musician playing outside, but we were in the mood for dining inside. We had a nice booth and even though we were greeted by our server relatively quickly, it took seemingly forever to get our waters and first round of drinks. By the time they finally arrived we tried to place our food order, but had to wait, because the server had her hands full delivering drinks to all the other tables. After another few minutes, she returned and took our order. The food came out realtively quickly and I thought the dish I ordered (Grain Bowl with Blackened Shrimp) was outstanding. I tried a few bites of my wife's hamburger and thought it was excellent as well. It took awhile to get the check as well. First time here, came for burger Monday. Mushroom and turkey burgers were very good, as was the tasty creamy slaw. Service was not. Hate it when someone else is seated after you, and the server takes their order first. Took about 10 min. to get our wine, and 30 min. to get our burgers. Had to ask for water. If you are looking for a quick spot to have lunch or happy hour this place is cool. I came in on a Sunday just before happy hour which was cool because a lot of places do not have a happy hour menu on weekends. The prices were decent. I got buffalo wings, a flatbread and vegetables for $32. The service was cool. It was fairly empty and I did not need much. The server came by several times to make sure I was ok. Now this isn't a place I would go to for my birthday. More like grab a quick lunch or drink place for me. The food was good. I wouldn't say delicious because nothing was really memorable. My food came out hot. Presentation was good and any request I had the staff made sure I was good. My table was clean. The bathroom was clean. My silverware was clean. Good bar food. We made our way downtown to Patricks last night. Known for their burgers, I knew what I wanted. The outside seating was popular but inside was not, and with a slight threat of rain we opted for inside. Our energetic and helpful server was right over to get us started. I was surprised that under their Award Winning Burgers section in their menu they only listed 5, including generic hamburger and cheeseburger. The other 3 sounded fine, including what I ordered, their Kress Burger. The Kress building, which still exists in some form, was where Patricks was located just down the street before they moved to their current location many years ago. I suppose if you offer a great burger keep it on the menu, except it wasn't that great of a burger. It was a bacon cheeseburger topped with crispy onion straws and served with a side of chili. My initial impression was the burger was dry. It wasn't until I had eaten almost half that it dawned on me to stop eating the chili with the spoon provided and instead put it on the burger. That made a big difference, the burger was no longer dry and now had noticeable flavor. I thought the side of coleslaw was almost tasteless. My wife had their sweet potato fries, that would be a better way to go. read more

Patrick's gets only a 3.3 rating on Yelp. We have always enjoyed the service and food and was surprised at the low rating. Today we had an experience that may be why. My friend ordered the beet salad that included seared tuna for $24. She asked to substitute the Tuna with Mahi Mahi since she has a health condition where she can't eat seared (undercooked) tuna. The waitress said she could substitute. When the bill came there was an additional $7 charge to the $24 salad she purchased. The $24 included the tuna. They charged an additional $7 for the Mahi ($31 total) and did NOT substitute as conveyed. The waitress should have stated that she could not substitute and there was an upcharge. Mahi as an add on to any salad was $7. So, for $24 she would have taken the tuna that came with the salad home for her friend and added the Mahi for $7. When discussed with a manager all he referred to was the POS system and how it operates and he couldn't change it. Instead of listening to the customer, understanding the situation, and resolving the issue!!! How resolve? Listen to the customer and the concern, make an informed decision based on the problem and not the POS system and how it is pre-programmed. It can be overridden! read more

The place is alright but I was not impressed . Happy hour is daily from 4pm to 6pm, deals are not mind blowing though. They also have burger Monday, which is basically $5 off their burger menu IF you buy a beverage. Specialty cocktails are $14, draft beer is $7, bottled beer is $5-6, so I guess if you go for a beer it's good deal. I tried wild mushroom burger and overall I liked it, however I agree with other reviews they need to be better at cooking it right. I requested my meat to be done medium rare, which should be pink at center, and mine was not (aka overcooked). It was still pretty good though. Fries are definitely cooked from frozen, you can tell. But the bright side they do offer sweet potato fries and they don't upcharge for it. Finally, service is no frills here, at least that's what we experienced. Our server was very hands off and not too friendly, the table next to us was served by some guy who has been very (and I mean very) pushy and just overly nice, to the point it got us cringe a little. So, mixed bag here. I'd come back for burger Monday just for the deal, otherwise this is pretty average place at not so average prices. read more

Stopped in tonight around 6 o'clock for dinner. I had one of Patrick's famous burgers with lettuce, tomato, and green olives and burnt french fries my wife had their turkey burger sands bun with all their veggies on it and she loved it. She had sweet potato fries. I had a Diet Coke with my meal and our server name was Barbara And everything was good. It's an easy five star. This is a difficult one to critique! Continuing my search for good fish and chips in the Sarasota area. The "chips" were stone cold, the piece of lemon was dirty, the coleslaw was typical fast food joint, but the fish which I think was actually real cod was well cooked and tasty. We have been coming to Sarasota for decades but never really get downtown. This year we kept hearing about Patrick's and their burgers so with the free trolley from Lido Key into downtown we decided to check it out. Oh boy oh boy oh boy were we glad we did!! The burgers were big and delicious! I loved my crisp fries as well. The burger was also cooked perfectly. I got blue cheese on mine and it was the perfect amount. On Mondays (I believe that's the correct day) they have burgers for $8 but on other days they are still reasonably priced. Nice spot for people watching if you sit outside and there's plenty to do on the street where it's located. read more

Last night, we sat the bar during HH. Drinks were good. We both ordered the HH sliders, one with pepper jack cheese and the other with cheddar. The cheddar sliders were raw and returned for medium sliders. My sliders did not have pepper jack on them, one was medium rare and the other one pretty raw. The cheddar sliders came back as well done. My wife ate one and then told the bartender it was over cooked. She shrugged her shoulders and turned away. Nothing was comped. I was in the mood for a great burger and this place definitely qualifies. I love sitting outside (they have about 7 or so tables), but sit under one that has an umbrella for sun and protection from those little twirly things that seem to fall from their trees ;) The service is fine, but a little slow. This is not a deal breaker since it may have been due to staffing issues on a Sat night. Regardless, we had a great martini and margarita to start. Avoid the downtown tap water at all costs. I've had a few different things there in the past even the pork chop special was just eh (a bit too tough, not many places know how to cook pork chops) and just no flavor. While the gravy was there to lend support, the pork just wasn't seasoned enough to taste like anything. Luckily, we got the burger and one of the best onion rings in town. That was worth the trip in itself. The burger was cooked perfectly (medium rare) and awesome. Loved the fries too. I would highly recommend coming for the burger and onion rings, the fun downtown location, and people watching. We spent $70 (not including tip). for 3 drinks and 2 entrees which was fine given the downtown location. read more

I had the wild mushroom burger with fries. The burger was very good. It was cooked exactly the way I wanted it. The combo of mushrooms, carmelized onions and cheese was very tasty to me. The fries that I got with the burger was also very good. What is odd is 2 people ordered fish and chips and the waitress came back and said that they were running short and could only allow our table to have one order of fish and chips. That is odd. And then his order came out 5-10 minutes after all the other orders were served. Burgers were a four-star for me. After an afternoon strolling around the Selby Botanical Gardens we headed to downtown Sarasota for a Valentine's dinner. We weren't sure if we could get in but it was before 5 pm and not yet crowded. After looking at the menu we decided it looked great and we were not disappointed. We were able to sit outside which was so nice on a perfect night. Two couples split 2 dinners. One dinner was a full rack of ribs with French fries and Cole slaw and the second was a the pork chop dinner with garlic mashed potatoes and fresh veggies. All food was delicious. Our server was sweet and efficient and it was lovely to sit outside. We had chocolate mousse cake, an apple pie with ice cream and a key lime pie for dessert. Again all desserts were very good. I would recommend. Parking is on the street and it was crowded and we had to walk couple of blocks but it is a fun, safe area with shops, restaurants etc so walking was part of the experience.
