This is my favorite bar, ever. Now that it's non-smoking, I like it even more. The bartenders ar extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. I've never been there and not made new friends! I have to go back a lot more to work my way through the microbrews. Erin go bragh!

Nice neighborhood gathering place. The beer selection is very good. The bartenders attentive and always interesting. Cash bar only. Atm located within a phone booth. Do stop in for a game of darts and a fun time. Has outdoor patio seating. I must admit this place gets a good rating because I always go there with my fun group. we make our own fun every time.

We asked if there was bread, and they have a complementary bread and pesto that was excellent. We each chose something different so we could try four different meals. The fish tacos were great! Great flavor and huge piece of fresh fish. The green beans are an excellent side choice. The grilled salmon was also excellent. The key lime aioli was sweet, but delicious. The crab cake was not deep fried and crispy, but full of large pieces of crab. The homemade potato chips and fries were great. I did prefer the fries. They also have gluten free buns for the burgers. Service was also excellent.

Salmon + green beans did what they needed to do. They gave me coleslaw too, did I ask for it? no. did I eat it? also no, but that's a personal preference thing. We also got the Mediterranean sampler and that was actually really good. I even tried my mom's martini of the month and I don't even like martinis like that but I would 100% drink that one again. The vibe is kinda in between, you can dress up or show up casual and not feel weird. It's a little loud but in a fun way like good for a date night or girls night. Service was decent, the girl at the bar was nice and clearly doing everything at once, so no complaints there. Drinks aren't insanely strong, but they can be cute depending on what you order. My wine looked like...wine, but my mom's martini had a cute rim. It ended up being around $57 not including tip which honestly felt cheap for everything we got. Only downside is street parking, so be ready to walk a bit if you didn't park right beside it. I'd definitely go back if I'm in the area.

But it wasn't until this last visit that we even realized this place existed - and we are SO glad we did! :) Tucked in the middle of a small and unassuming shopping center, the outside is very dark which definitely helps with the authentic Irish Pub feel. Once you open the door, it's smaller place, with around 10-15 small tables, a bar straight ahead, and a small area for local performers on the left up against the outside window (because of the dark ambiance, its hard to even tell the back is glass. The staff was helpful and attentive. We were going for a walk, but I wanted to see the menu, so I popped in to grab one with one of my daughters in the baby carrier. There were 2 performers and a few tables of people and everyone smiled and made comments about her, and I grabbed a menu and left. During the walk, I called to order our food, and the bartender on the phone was very helpful. He happily accommodated getting all of the sauces on the side and even offered some things to be separated that I didn't think about (since I mentioned we would be walking home with the food). When I went back to pick up the food, the place was far busier, almost every seat was taken, and I had switched out kids in the baby carrier. People were just as friendly even though it was noticeably crowded. It had only been 15 minutes, but the food was ready and packed - and boy was it GOOD!! We got the Irish Nachos and Pub Poutine so we could try a few Irish specialties that also had classic elements to them (shepherds pie and beer cheese). The Irish Nachos were absolutely incredible! It is house-made potato chips topped with shepherds pie and beer cheese. Some of the best food we've ever had in Siesta Key and by far the best shepherd's pie I've ever had - and I've been to Ireland. The Pub Poutine was also really tasty! It is house-made French fries topped with corned beef and beer cheese. Again, everything was fresh, made in-house, and a big hit with our whole family! I'm so glad we finally stumbled on this place and can't wait to come back again next year!

And in Sebring, that means you walk into the cool Irish pub on the circle and soak it all in. The interior alone makes it worth the visit. Dark wood, warm lighting, that cozy tucked-away pub feel that makes you forget you are in the middle of Florida. It feels transported. It is one of those places in Sebring that you just have to see because it is so unexpectedly cool inside. Service was great. I was there for a quick in and out, so I sat at the bar and kept it simple with a chicken Caesar salad. Nothing fancy. For the price, it was very fair, and the flavor held up. No complaints. It did exactly what it needed to do, which was give me a solid meal in a comfortable setting without overcomplicating things. Now let's talk about Sebring itself. Sebring is one of those towns in the middle of nowhere Florida where you find yourself thinking, "I wonder what it would be like to live here?" while also scratching your head a little. It reminds me of The Villages before The Villages became The Villages. There is a concept there. It is adorable. It is charming. And most of the time, it is very, very quiet. Personally, I would go stir crazy living there full time. But I can absolutely see the appeal. And to be fair, Sebring is not always sleepy. It comes alive during major events like the legendary 12 Hours of Sebring at Sebring International Raceway, which draws racing fans from all over the world. There is also the Sebring Soda Festival, the Highlands County Fair, and various car shows and seasonal events that suddenly flood the town with energy. During those times, I imagine the entire vibe shifts. If I were to come back, it would be for one of those big events or for some serious antique shopping, because that is where this area quietly shines. Gavaghans fits perfectly into that Sebring personality. Cozy. A little unexpected. Solid. Worth stepping into. Even if you are not an Irish pub person, it is one of those spots that makes you think, okay... I get it.

We each ate half of the salad and took the remaining home. The place was quiet with only one other table seated. We were able to converse with each other in a relaxed and unhurried atmosphere. Not before the FST show…read more (GOSUB to the **** for the meat/burger of the review ((smile)) ) I have reviewed about 30 restaurants in and around Sarasota since 2021 when we moved down permanently and are members of the FST. On this Friday night, nothing was going right. My wife was delayed at school etc. So then a delayed departure from Venice, a false stop at Mad Moe's for a burger in Osprey (PACKED) and then a direct shot and parking across from FST we hope for a quick burger or something at the bar or restaurant at FST? But it was PACKED and they weren't serving any more???? We threw our tickets in the trash because now we could not make it back in time, (( frown :-( )) So a walk to Main Street to see if Patrick's or anybody might have room for two? NOPE. and we were walking along and THERE WAS BREWSTER's GASTROPUB!!!!!!!!!! For some reason I have 128 restaurants on my Sarasota Favorites list and Brewster's was not on it? I checked them on as I entered??? Looked VERY full at the bar, and most tables were full but it looked like we had a shot...... and there was a four top high-top!!!!!!! WIDE OPEN!! I think the no table service might be the delineator. We weren't looking for a sit down "dining" and full service gig. Nor did we need the overhead and pomp and circumstance of a host/hostess, army of bus staff, a waitstaff and being waited on with drinks and water and etc? ******** We came to EAT GOOD SIMPLE FOOD and have FUN. **** And that's what we did!!! "Todd" at the bar was friendly and fantastic. All the bartenders and staff were helpful and friendly. The "security guy" when he saw me at the bar for about 20 seconds helped me get some ketchup. Zone defense and team effort!!!! I got the signature Brew Burger and a side of Street Corn and had an endless glass of water w/ lemon I think I had Todd fill about 5 times. My wife and I bantered about what the Street Corn would be and we were happily surprised with the authentic Mexican Street Corn (elotes?) on the cob with a stick and a delightful creamy Chile, garlic, and Cotija cheese sauce I think. (problem is we gobble them up before we could figure out the exact sauce composition here. BUT it was very tasty. 10/10 The burger (for this adult usually nutritarian plant-based eater) was EXACTLY what I had hoped for. A wonderfully fresh an warm brioche bun, fantastic angus burger, cheddar and a "secret sauce" . I got lettuce onion and pickles which are standard...... this was VERY VERY VERY tasty. only quip is I will opt for sauce on the side and its was a little too much sauce. This was mega and uber better than some greasy Five Guys or Smashburger or any of that stuff. 10/10 My wife got the Shroom & Swiss Burger that had a wonderful portobello mushroom on it nicely cooked, terrific angus burger properly cooked exactly as we ordered it, she loved the blue cheese perfect amount, She also felt a bit TOO much of the secret sauce, but its pretty tasty so not a catastrophe. This was also an AWESOME burger!! 10/10 The sweet potato fries were not crazy greasy and perfectly crisp but not crunchy for fries - good, cross-cut and obviously bulk bag. Cut or sliced would be nicer but of course not expected, its a side. 7/10 The place is clean and glassware and silverware perfectly clean. The counter/bar service is fantastic. I had to make a few trips for ketchup and place ware and etc but hey when your wife gets one of the better vodka cranberry w/lemon and club in a large tumble for $9 instead of $15 or $16 for a 6 oz martini glass with 4 oz of watery drink........ its a home run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
