Always a great spot to visit with my girl! Usually a wait but don't stray or go too far once you place your name on the list, people are always filtering in and out. Strong drinks and bartenders are friendly and their attentiveness is refreshing. Inside is quaint dark and moody atmosphere. They have a light menu but fries are on it! Top hidden gem in Sarasota in my opinion. Check out this joint in the alley!

Great atmosphere. I recommend the cereal bowl drinks. So much fun for an adult beverage. Great amazing service and a very cool vibe. Drinks are on par for price so you should definitely check this place out

Well I was taken here to experience the establishment and I have some mixed thoughts on this bar/restaurant at this point. First of all you must enter through an alley, mind you I get it, speakeasy feel right. When you enter you see some interesting decor and once you enter the bar it is a dark, but a cozy atmosphere. The one thing that gets me is I really can't tell if it's outdated or dirty etc, but all good I guess. Be prepared for some small seating areas. Our waiter was a very nice guy who made a handful of recommendations that were very helpful. We had 3 different cocktails and all of them were very good. We also ordered the hummus appetizer, a chicken sandwich x2 and a burger with fries. The hummus was really good and the small toasts that came with it were very good as well (wish there were more of those), it also came with cucumbers and carrots ( not my favorite with hummus, but I'm sure some people that are into crunchy veggies will be happy). The burger was pretty decent and that goes for the chicken sandwich as well, they might not blow your mind, but for this type of bar worth ordering if you're in the mood. Now the French fries were really tasty and thin, yes I ate them all. Overall I need to try this place a couple more time's to really see what it's about. Yes I will go back in the future to try it again and see about consistency. Food 7.5 Atmosphere 7.5 Service 8.0

I came here with a small group on a Tuesday night. The drinks were alright. We also tried the Sir Sazerac and Blue Ridge Mountains. I'm not sure if it was the typical for that night as it was not really busy until a little after we came in but the drinks were not balanced. I like the menu concept but I wish it was better executed.

The cereal bowl and Chai were so good!

Can't believe this place has been open since 2010 and I just came here in 2023 for the first time... This is probably my new favorite place for a cocktail in Sarasota! It's pretty easy to find since the door has the name of this place in big letters, and there is NO password -- so if someone asks you for a password, they're just messing with you! When you enter, there is a cool sitting room that is decorated in a cool way. There's two big eyes on the wall that gave me Great Gatsby vibes. There's also I believe two bathrooms connected to the sitting room. To enter the bar, you need to just open the door next to the bookcase, part the curtain (walk straight) and you'll enter the bar. The space is not too small / not too big. We were able to find a free table for five people easily. Our server was Camila (or Camilla?) who was awesome. I love that they use the Toast machines here which make it very easy to put a card down / pay when you're done. The menu is also fun -- we came in December so there were plenty of winter cocktails. I loved the cereal ones (the spiked milk with the Frosted Flakes was good), as well as the Chai cocktail, and the Ginger something (had espresso in it). The fries were also delicious!!! If you like skinny, crispy fries then this place does them well, and it's a good sized portion as well. Loved my first visit so much that I'm coming back in a few days for Christmas Eve!

The drinks were fantastic! Ambience was super nice and chill. Gave you that jazzy feel. Didn't order food though

Drinks were tasty and strong! Bartender was nice. Happy hour prices are more reasonable. Overall good place to have a drink. It's a very casual place to catch a drink.

Really fun speakeasy in a back alley. Very playful cocktail menu known for their cereal varieties with spiked milk. Must try spot in SRQ

The vibe feels a bit on the fancier side, but it's still chill, a perfect spot for date night or just taking cute photos. No hidden entrance or secret password that we could see and street parking is available. No wait during the day. It's not the cheapest spot, but honestly worth it for the drinks and the aesthetic. The ambiance is polished compared the dive bar scene in the surrounding area. I tried the "Do No Wrong" which calls for: Mezcal, house made orgeat, lime, habanero tincture, mint, nutmeg. I made it known to the bartender that I don't like the excessive sweetness that sometimes orgeat (almond) syrup has in drinks so he could adjust that for me. The drink turned out nice with the crushed ice they use for it and I'd try it again. Also tried the "Chai and Chill" which based off their website is: "Warming spices with chai and espresso, complemented by creamy vanilla and a hint of cinnamon -- smooth, aromatic, and cozy for winter evenings." Being that it's winter in Florida and my smelling sense isn't the sharpest at the time, I wasn't able to appreciate the aromatics in this drink but I'd say it's a balanced creamy drink, perhaps I'd ask for more espresso based liquor in it if I had it again or good for you to know in case you want to make sure that it carries enough coffee flavor for you. As of February 2026, they are doing comedy nights on Thursdays.

Looking at the menu I was bit surprised they did not have more signature drinks on the menu, mainly mojitos, but then realized this is a Latin speakeasy, with music playing to match. They also have a full bar so anything you want they can make, The bartender and servers were super nice and friendly, and they worked quick to get all drinks out. They also had some food, that looked delicious, and hope I get the chance to come back to try some. After seating in the lounge/ speakeasy area for a while, we moved to the bar for a last drink. The bartender said Espresso Martinis were her specialty so we order those. She was not lying, one of the best we've had.

We absolutely loved going to Ciro's when they were still opened and enjoying their fresh out of the oven chocolate chip cookies amongst many other things. We saw that Jekyll offered "Ciro's Chocolate Chip Cookies" and we were so excited to one, try Jekyll, and two, gobble up some made to order cookies. So, we arrived a few minutes before our 7pm reservation, but were left standing at the entrance as other parties were shuttled right in. In fact, 10 minutes later, we were still standing there. After almost 15 minutes, we were finally escorted into the speakeasy. This was the first sign of how the evening was going to go and, honestly, we should've left after five minutes of waiting. Once seated, we were warmly greeted by Otis, who took our order for the cookies and spiked milk. When the runner brought the cookies they were neither fresh from the oven, nor warm (or gooey) like real Ciro's cookies were. Instead, they were cold, hard and broke like peanut brittle. I spoke to Otis, who immediately addressed the matter and put in another order of cookies. The second order was delivered by the manager, who claimed that he stood and watched the entire process. This was difficult for us to believe because the second batch cookies were even worse than the first batch. So, we called Otis back over, told him we were leaving and thanked him for his superior service. At this same time, a bar tender, who overheard all of this, stopped by with two complementary beverages. The drinks were the highlight of the visit along with the severs graciousness and professionalism. Jekyll appears to be a very nice place. Unfortunately, they don't make, nor serve authentic Ciro's chocolate chip cookies. Two stars for Otis and bar tender. Do better Jekyll!!

But when it came it had a lot of sauce on it. I feel like shishito pepper should have more Char and just a little bit of sauce. We didn't ask her to take off the shishito peppers but she did when she brought the bill. The drinks were decent. It's a nice cool concept. Once inside you see how little this place is, which is one of the reasons for 3 stars. Other downfalls was service being slow, so much that we left without getting any drinks after standing by the bar for about ten minutes without much moving. The place was crowded, probably because earlier today was the pride parade. Another reason for the lower score is only one bathroom stall from what we could tell. And not enough tables because of how small the venue is. There were a couple small tables with drinks on them but no one busing the floor. Liked the decorations in the corner with old record albums... Kiss, Robert Palmer, Chuck Magione, Ricki Lee Jones, Adam Ant. The music playing was good. After Bodega closes the only entrance/exit is a door that dumps to the side alley. It isn't hidden so found it pretty easily. A loose entrepretation of a speakeasy. Might try this again on a less busy night where the bar service can keep up with the patrons. Recommend this place to smaller numbers of 2-4 people. Anything larger and they just can't accommodate properly. In my picture you can see how small all the tables are...
