Drinks were great- extensive bar menu. Our food was excellent and quick to arrive . Many items if not, all are from the main restaurant downstairs. The view at the rooftop bar here is amazing. You must visit. The happy hour is a good value and there's a few varied brews on tap. However, most of the bartenders are subpar and are well below the standard of the rest of this wonderful prime group art ovation property. We've visited twice and both times, only one of the five bartenders didn't seem annoyed to be working. I'd recommend a retraining or a house cleaning (not the wet rag kind). read more

4 Stars for great views and solid drinks. This rooftop bar above the Art Ovation hotel is available to non-hotel guests too. It's on the same rooftop as the pool, but off to the side. We went for a quick martini before bed and ended up staying to enjoy the view. The bartender was very friendly and she took our order at our table. The service was quick and the drinks were well crafted and strong. Can't ask for much more than that! read more

This would be the second best place to watch a sunset besides the beach. Apparently everyone does the same thing. It wasn't full but we can tell who was there just for the view. We found seats at the bar and the cocktails were delicious. Bartenders were attentive. But that view was stunning!! Great vibe and good music. The lite breeze was perfect. I loved this experience! place is fine at night. had an off putting & rude interaction with the daytime bouncer today. tried to charge us $15 for a pool "party" we had no intention on attending. finally didn't make us pay when i said we just wanted to get a drink at the bar. drinks are good but the overall vibe during the day is not good. i'll go to the Westin next time. read more

What a disappointment for a high end hotel. If you want to be served at one of the tables prepare to wait a long time before someone comes by. On day 1 no one came and on day 2 someone came after we waited 15 minutes and went to the bar and got our own drinks. The service at the bar is slow. It seems there are lots of people up here doing nothing. I've even seen managers walking about without seeming to notice the growing line of agitated customers. No one clears off the tables as people get up. At around 4pm the sun is super blasting and several of the umbrellas are not working. The beer refrigerator was constantly open as it appears there is something wrong wth the latch. Bartenders constantly close it only to have it reopen a second later. I can't imagine how the beers stay cool wth the sun blaring down on it. The Pepsi was out on the soda gun and no one seemed to want to add on another tank. Keep in mind an 18 percent gratuity is added to your bill. We had two "weak" drinks (they don't even fill the jigger ) and a Pepsi for $40. I would highly recommend you try elsewhere for a rooftop bar. read more

If you're not under 30 and you don't rent a cabana you can forget getting served without having to chase someone down. I had 3 servers completely ignore me and walk right past while I I was trying to ask for for drinks and a lunch dish. One even said "just go ask the bartender" (who also ignored me). read more

Great view, but the bar staff have not been great on my visits and have overcharged me each time. Even when there are four men behind the bar (and it seem to be the men who are the worst offenders), and no one else is waiting to be served, they tend to ignore anyone at the bar for a long time, and when they got around to serving me last time, they were somewhat surly and placed my drink so far away I had to stretch over the bar to get it. And later, there was some very public feuding between bar staff, done loudly and in front of all the customers. I know everyone has been through a lot this past two years, so I can only hope that all the staff here find peace in their lives and appreciation for their jobs. I would not wish anyone to be miserable every day. And if poor management or poor pay is the cause of their apparent unhappiness, I hope someone does something to fix that. Regarding the overcharging ... This bar has a Happy Hour from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. But they have NEVER given me the happy hour prices until I questioned the bill. Then they acted like they forgot it was Happy Hour. This has happened to me on three separate occasions. And this Friday (08/12/22), I mentioned it to another customer and, when she questioned her bill, they reluctantly admitted they had done it to her, too. So it does not look like it is an "accident." Plus, they like to keep any change without asking you. My bill was $7.50 (should have been $5 during Happy Hour) but they only returned $12 to me from a $20. I tend to leave any change along with a regular tip, but it's a bit cheeky to assume that. But they have finally put up some shade on the roof, which is a huge improvement and very necessary. Until recently, it was impossible to use this bar on a hot, or even mildly sunny, day, which is 99% of the year. read more

Nice view, but otherwise a completely overrated, overpriced and overhyped place that masquerades as a hip and high class hotel rooftop bar/restaurant. A glass of wine while taking in the view is all I'd recommend. The chef should be ashamed of serving substandard food on/in deep plastic trays (think airplane dinner aesthetic). Even the charcuterie board (an easy and elegant classic for most reasonable restaurants) was a massive fail consisting of hacked up slices of the cheapest, blandest grocery store cheeses served with 6 olives straight from a jar and arriving in a tiny, plastic to-go Mayo container. Save your money and eat elsewhere. There are lots of really great restaurants all within walking distance. read more

Highly over rated in my opinion. I was there during the early afternoon when there were 2 bartenders and about 12 patrons. No service while sitting at a table, and this place is small, I had to ask someone to take my order. The wine pour was puny, so while stay and try anything else? Perspective rooftop was amazing day and night! I stayed in the hotel for two days and the day time staff was amazing. The bartender Matthew, the daytime supervisor and the host Ari really made my pool experience a fun and relaxed time! Matthew made the best drinks for us. We went out to dinner and took a nap in our room. We headed up to the rooftop where they had a DJ from 9-1am. They have the perfect set up for a successful Friday and Saturday night! There was so much room by the pool to sit and relax, we did not get a cabana but the people in the cabanas looked like they were having a good time! Lots of bottles and lots of sparklers!! The bar was busy and lively. Many people of all ages dancing and enjoying the view!!! The ambiance of this place is amazing! MUST check it out when you visit Sarasota!! read more

Love this spot! Besides the amazing views on top of the beautiful Art Ovation hotel downtown, they have awesome and fun bartenders. I love the atmosphere here, especially after the sun goes down. It is very relaxing and laid back. It's a great place to dress up for and enjoy their special drinks. Tremendous view, with a mix of locals and hotel guests. We ordered the Meander appetizer which was a bento box of three shrimp , six ahi tuna slices with a nice pesto, ceviche and chips. For 30 dollars it was absolutely not 30 dollars worth of food. It took a little long, almost 25 minutes to come out. Waiter Adrian was extremely attentive and apologetic. Hot though at 630. Umbrellas were set up for afternoon sun, not evening sun from the west which was still intense at 630. Very hip vibe. Beautiful bar. read more
