They promptly brought us to our table. No wait at all. They sat us at a booth we requested a hockey game section. They put a whole bunch of TVs with the hockey game on all around so it was very easy to watch the game with no problem. And they had the sound on, amazing. I was really impressed with how nice and clean the restaurant was and their decor. Plus the amount of TVs. They have a lot of deals during week days like 3.99 bud-light and more and happy hour till 7:00pm. I ordered the smashed avocado turkey sandwich it was so delicious! I loved the creamy chunks of avocado in the sandwich! Comes with crispy sweet potatoes frys. The meat was so silky and good. Next my husband got the fish and chips and a bowl of chillis soup. He said the soup was amazing it tasted so homemade it was full of so many flavors he was so impressed. He got the fish and chips and he loved every bit of it because they were crispy and with large chunks of fish crispy and so tasty loved it. He loved would definitely get it again. We had good service the server helped me with my dairy allergy situation and made sure I was taken care of so I appreciate that. Also the manager help also. We had a great experience we would definitely be back again.

Friday, January 16, 2026 - Two for a burger bite. Not before the FST show…read more (GOSUB to the **** for the meat/burger of the review ((smile)) ) I have reviewed about 30 restaurants in and around Sarasota since 2021 when we moved down permanently and are members of the FST. On this Friday night, nothing was going right. My wife was delayed at school etc. So then a delayed departure from Venice, a false stop at Mad Moe's for a burger in Osprey (PACKED) and then a direct shot and parking across from FST we hope for a quick burger or something at the bar or restaurant at FST? But it was PACKED and they weren't serving any more???? We threw our tickets in the trash because now we could not make it back in time, (( frown :-( )) So a walk to Main Street to see if Patrick's or anybody might have room for two? NOPE. and we were walking along and THERE WAS BREWSTER's GASTROPUB!!!!!!!!!! For some reason I have 128 restaurants on my Sarasota Favorites list and Brewster's was not on it? I checked them on as I entered??? Looked VERY full at the bar, and most tables were full but it looked like we had a shot...... and there was a four top high-top!!!!!!! WIDE OPEN!! I think the no table service might be the delineator. We weren't looking for a sit down "dining" and full service gig. Nor did we need the overhead and pomp and circumstance of a host/hostess, army of bus staff, a waitstaff and being waited on with drinks and water and etc? ******** We came to EAT GOOD SIMPLE FOOD and have FUN. **** And that's what we did!!! "Todd" at the bar was friendly and fantastic. All the bartenders and staff were helpful and friendly. The "security guy" when he saw me at the bar for about 20 seconds helped me get some ketchup. Zone defense and team effort!!!! I got the signature Brew Burger and a side of Street Corn and had an endless glass of water w/ lemon I think I had Todd fill about 5 times. My wife and I bantered about what the Street Corn would be and we were happily surprised with the authentic Mexican Street Corn (elotes?) on the cob with a stick and a delightful creamy Chile, garlic, and Cotija cheese sauce I think. (problem is we gobble them up before we could figure out the exact sauce composition here. BUT it was very tasty. 10/10 The burger (for this adult usually nutritarian plant-based eater) was EXACTLY what I had hoped for. A wonderfully fresh an warm brioche bun, fantastic angus burger, cheddar and a "secret sauce" . I got lettuce onion and pickles which are standard...... this was VERY VERY VERY tasty. only quip is I will opt for sauce on the side and its was a little too much sauce. This was mega and uber better than some greasy Five Guys or Smashburger or any of that stuff. 10/10 My wife got the Shroom & Swiss Burger that had a wonderful portobello mushroom on it nicely cooked, terrific angus burger properly cooked exactly as we ordered it, she loved the blue cheese perfect amount, She also felt a bit TOO much of the secret sauce, but its pretty tasty so not a catastrophe. This was also an AWESOME burger!! 10/10 The sweet potato fries were not crazy greasy and perfectly crisp but not crunchy for fries - good, cross-cut and obviously bulk bag. Cut or sliced would be nicer but of course not expected, its a side. 7/10 The place is clean and glassware and silverware perfectly clean. The counter/bar service is fantastic. I had to make a few trips for ketchup and place ware and etc but hey when your wife gets one of the better vodka cranberry w/lemon and club in a large tumble for $9 instead of $15 or $16 for a 6 oz martini glass with 4 oz of watery drink........ its a home run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With all the TVs and sports that is probably the summary of my review. Brewster's Gastropub is a Grand Slam for food and service......and especially burgers!!! Bravo Zulu.

However, my experience on Wednesday was completely unacceptable. When I walked in and stood at the bar, there was a white female bartender and a Hispanic male bartender working. The female bartender made no effort whatsoever to acknowledge my presence. She did not greet me, ask if I needed anything, or even make eye contact. Instead, she simply moved to another register and ignored me entirely. The only reason I was eventually served was because the Hispanic male bartender noticed me, because he came in, greeted me, and promptly took my drink order. He was professional, attentive, and the only bright spot of an otherwise terrible experience. As a patron staying at the hotel next door and someone who has spent money at this establishment multiple times this week, I find this level of service unacceptable. There are plenty of bars in the area with staff who understand basic customer service and know how to treat guests with respect. I don't know the name of the female bartender who ignored me, but based on this experience alone, I would not recommend visiting on Wednesday nights--or any night she is working. Customers deserve to be acknowledged and treated with courtesy, and unfortunately that was not the case tonight.

We were greeted immediately upon arriving and sat right away. Our server, Justin, arrived at our table immediately. He was very friendly, professional and sincere. And with OUT being annoying, was vigilant in getting our drink orders and then our food decisions. We chose the chicken fingers & fries app, 2 burgers and a Cobb salad. Justin then asked if we wanted all the food together or he'll wait 3 minutes after our chicken finger app. We chose for him to order our entrees after the app was delivered. LITERALLY, LITERALLY 30 seconds after he walked away from our table, our chicken finger appetizer was delivered. WAYYYYYY to quickly we all thought, and we were right. Both the chicken fingers and fries were BARELY warm! They basically just sent us out an order that was very obviously sitting under the warmer TOO LONG! Shame on them for 'selling' dead food. Justin came by and apologized and took the plate. After a few minutes, the plate came out again, NOT hot but warmer/hotter than the first one. Our entrees were delivered about 5 minutes later. The burgers were cooked perfectly to what we asked for and the salad was cold. Now the sides we ordered with our burgers: Sweet potato fries, NOT hot and crunchy and served with pieces of their fried Brussel sprouts on the bottom. The other burger had Onion Ring as a side. WARM, NOT HOT, soft not crunchy, and just overall nasty. We were hungry and I did not complain when Justin checked back with us. Overall, the problem was anything fried. So whoever worked the 'inside' and 'outside' kitchen windows obviously were just grabbing anything that they needed to 'sell'. Bathrooms were clean but this was the first time that I had bad food. I personally feel that this was a completely avoidable situation...and I blame kitchen staff for not taking the time to serve their normally very good food. There are soooooo many other restaurants now in the area, they can't afford to take short cuts with their food!

I usually like to do flights to sample several beers, but they were not offering flights. However, they happily poured me several samples to try before committing to a full pour. The wings were perfectly cooked and so flavorful (It's all in the brine) and the pretzel was soft and perfect for dipping in the amazing beer cheese. I had the Bee Sting pizza which made me a fan of whipped ricotta because is mellowed the hot honey sauce drizzle over fresh toppings. When I got to the crust I stopped and dipped them in this sensational sauce (I could have ordered the crust alone ). My wife had the sliders (she's not usually a slider person) to try something different and she loved them. The mini burgers were not over cooked and the toppings fit the slider perfectly the a tasty bite. I mentioned Ben because he took the time to come and check on us since it was our first time. It was beautiful outside and luckily were offered an outdoor table (which was perfect as in inside seating area was very cold). We were sat (2ppl) and were about the 5th or 6th table outside. There was a table sitting next to us that had clearly finished their food and we're waiting to pay their check after about 15 minutes. The mother took the two other children and left the father there to pay the bill. About 10 minutes later, he ended up getting up and going inside to find a server. His new sword ever came outside. We sat at our table for probably 30 minutes and watched the host. Continue to see people outside filling it up. After about 35 minutes of nobody ever even approaching our table, we got up and left. I don't understand if you are short staffed why you would open an extra receiving area if you cannot service it? I have been there in the past and it has not ever been this bad. But after almost 45 minutes, I'm not even being acknowledged, we had to leave and find lunch somewhere else. To me, this was 100% on greedy management. You are not gonna increase your sales by filling up the restaurant and then not having enough service staff on duty to take care of it. I noticed another table also get up and walk towards their car after they saw us get up and leave. Not a manager in sight, not a server insight, just the continuing seating by a young man who was only doing what he was told to do, obviously without direction.
