I dined at Bridges a few times during my stay at the Embassy Suites. Their food is delicious! Everything was super fresh and flavorful. While it took a while for our food to come out, it was well worth the wait. And the staff was super sweet. I also went to their bar during my stay. The bartenders are fast and friendly and make great drinks! Some drinks are on the pricier side ranging about $15-18 but it's kinda expected for the area. Nice ambiance, lively people watching the game and making small talk. Highly recommend all of the desserts and the grilled chicken sandwich. Also their truffle fries are ridiculously good! read more

First off, you can't beat the view offered by the restaurant! Was excited to come here after seeing the chef on TV promoting the restaurant. However, we found out that the menu that is on the Bridge's website is over a year old and is not used anymore. We based our decision to come to the restaurant after checking out the menu online. Disappointed because the menu was significantly different. Our group wanted to order an entrée (had a 2:00 pm reservation). Was told that we couldn't order an entrée until 5:00pm. Food was ok. Would stop by again for a drink and view, but other places to eat that are much better. Service was good! read more

I came in here on a Saturday afternoon and Ashley and David Garcia at the upstairs bar (with a great view, air conditioned perfectly) were great to me. I had a few beers and met some travelers. There are sports TV's & more over the windows if you're into that and a cool design aesthetic reminiscent of a sort of deco 80,90's up top the bar with a very high ceiling so you don't feel claustrophobic. On a very slow Sunday evening, I was able to count the front house workers. 2 bartenders and 1 server/host. I must say the service is horrible. I wasn't greeted at all. I automatically went to the bar after the initial 5 minutes of standing at the host stand. The bartenders literally ignored me. A Caucasian male stood behind me and was addressed by a bartender like I wasn't standing in front of him. I proceeded to wait for someone to approach me. No one! My wife and I were going to a show at Van Wezel and this was the closest restaurant we could find so I made a reservation on OpenTable because they would not answer the phone at the restaurant. We had 730 tickets we went there at 10 to 6 and ordered two salads, which were very good very tasty. The waitress was terrific. The salads took 60 minutes to be made, we barely made the show. Otherwise I would be giving them five stars. The service was terrible slow just salads and they couldn't get them out to us. read more

This restaurant is located on the 8th Floor of the Embassy Suites Hotel. I stayed here for 4 days and tried this restaurant several times. I tried their Bridges Burger with Cheddar, Mushrooms and the fixings, twice. I was not expecting it to be this good. On the 3rd day I tried the Fried Chicken Sandwich and it was fantastic. It had sweet onions, bbq sauce and all the fixings (lettuce, tomato, etc). The hotel encourages guests to eat get with a $25 mandatory food/beverage spend per day. As many of you may have heard, the Embassy Suites Hotel and Bridges Restaurant will be changing ownership on April 20th. I am so grateful to have worked for Innisfree Hotels and Mr. & Mrs. Bridges for several years. I have had the opportunity to offer my Sol's NYC Cheesecake and Deli Corner at both the Hotel Indigo and for the last couple of years at Bridges Restaurant. It has been my pleasure to serve everyone that has made the trip to the eighth floor to enjoy great views and great dining. Effective April 17th, Sol's Deli Corner and SOL's NYC Cheesecake will no longer be available. On April 20th, I will be taking much-needed time to relax and do some projects that have been put on the back burner while working many hours over the last couple of years. I can assure you that I will be back, and when I do, I will let you all know where. My SOl's NYC Cheesecake is available at a few local restaurants at this time, and more to follow. Tonight we had the Fra Diablo which had good taste. The main problem was the shrimp and some of the other seafood was overcooked. This review is only for Happy Hour. Served everyday from 4:30-7:30, Bridges's on the 8th floor of the Embassy Suites offers a nice panoramic view of downtown Sarasota from a beautiful air conditioned 2-story bar area. They have large $3 Stella or Goose Island drafts and other drink specials (see photo) that make for a great start to end the work day. If you want a cold drink in beautiful environment with a friendly staff, Bridges is a nice place. On this particular Friday night, they even had a soloist playing an electric violin that was very good. However, when you move from drinks to food, I was quickly reminded that this is still a chain hotel. While they offer a few free snacks like most Embassy Suites, they were definitely lacking in quality and assortment (think Cole slaw, a few vegetables and tortilla chips). Moving to the HH menu was not an improvement as we sampled the sliders and fish sticks- both so far below local standards- we left to go eat elsewhere. Nice view and atmosphere, cold drinks; a good place to start your evening. Also, unless you valet park, you need to find parking on the street. read more

Didn't have my hopes high since it's a hotel restaurant, but thought we'd at least be able to get kids meals and drinks. I was disappointed more than I thought. We were quite literally the only people in the place, ordered the kids meal and told the waitress my husband and I planned to get drinks. At that point she completely disappeared. No where to be found. My husband then went to the bar to get our drinks and waited over ten minutes for them. Again- ONLY PEOPLE IN THE PLACE. The waitress finally reappeared to tell us the vegetables were not an option for our kids meal even though it's clearly marked on the menu. She then took my kids coloring page away to show the cook, apparently vegetables for a kids meal is a big deal. Seriously only people in the restaurant and can't get decent service. Also the restaurant shares with the free breakfast and happy hour part of the hotel, so be warned it's not a nice restaurant like it tries to proclaim. Then we were with our four year old who has tempter tantrums bc we'll he's four... and as we're leaving the waitress starts saying we should check our a place that employees autistic people and such as she put a hand on my sons head. We decide to stay and eat because we found out that Chef Sol was now in charge of the restaurant. And that means Cheesecake!!!! We know of Sol through the Indigo Hotel and his (best of the best)Deli food. So decided to stay. I see some bad reviews of this place but if anyone wants a great view and some amazing food check out this place on the 8th floor and give it another chance. Great Happy Hour from 5 pm to 7:30pm 10 chicken wings for $6.00 and medium shelve cocktails like Tito's and Makers Mark. For my entree I had the angus steak and lobster meet with the demi glaze. The glaze was extremely salty at first and the steak was not medium more like well done. The green beans were cooked to perfection. Not soggy just the right amount of crunch. My partner had the airline chicken with potatoes and I tried it and was completely jealous. It was simply fabulous. Upon complaining about the steak, they gladly remade it and to my surprise and happiness, I had to change my 3 star rating to a 5 star because fixing an error is admirable in my eyes and fixing it to perfection well is definitely a 5 star joint. To be honest, our food was alright ( chick salad on rye/ pastrami on rye/ Cesar Salad w/ chick) ,& the drinks ( old fashioneds) were good. The service was terrible on a Wed.evening at 5:30 pm, with not many patrons . We had reservations ,& stood at the hostess /entrance area,& were never greeted,...10 mins ,..no one around. After 3 diff. Bar parties passed by us , we walked into the dining to seat ourselves. A server then appeared and told us to sit wherever we liked. After a while, he went up to a party that had just walked in,& took their order ,not bothering with us at that time. Another 5-7 or so minutes before he approached us ...we gave him our drink & food order at the same time , getting a feeling this wasn't going to go well . 15 mins later, our server was back at our table , to confirm our drink order,as he only had 2 of the 3 written down . After that, our drinks were served quickly . Our food ( which were basic deli orders) took so much more time than necessary. 30 minutes ! We had long finished our cocktails, had no water on the table ,& it was impossible to flag the server down , even tho we were 1 of 2 tables in the place. Eventually our food came out,& our friend was quite upset that her order ( salad) was wrong . It was corrected, but of course it took another 10 minutes. We declined another round of drinks after seeing how the evening was trending . We had been to Bridges months before , but it was just for a drink, in the Spring ,during the day. I think this restaurant is really misunderstood. We were staying at the hotel and had an amazing time at the managers reception with free drinks that we didn't want to leave so we decided to stay and eat at the restaurant. (Manager John was great to talk to during our managers reception, loved him!) Because it was our honeymoon, the front desk gave us 15% off for the bridges restaurant. We got dressed up and were complimented by all the staff. The chairs are comfortable and the tables are sturdy. (I hate wobbly tables) I ordered the scallops with risotto (my first time trying scallops) and it was truly amazing. Melted in your mouth. My husband got the bridges burger (burgers are his favorite) and it was mouth watering good. For our appetizer we had the charcuterie board which was full of great cheese selections. We ended up paying way less than we thought we would even before the coupon so I believe you get what you pay for. Not only that but you get an unbeatable view. I have to mention our waiter Sebastian. He was super kind and helpful. Manager Aggy was kind and great to talk to as well. You can tell she cares a lot about her staff and her guests, making sure we all are having a great time. Waiter Igor was also very kind. Great food, attentive service and marvelous view. We ate here last night prior to a theater performance. Andrew seated us at the window away from the noise of the bar. The view is truly spectacular and Andrew was happy to explain what we were seeing and to point out landmarks. My husband ordered the wedge salad and the charcuterie plate as his main course. Both were excellent and the amount of cheese and prosciutto on the charcuterie plate was so much, that he brought part home. The cheese was unique with both savory and fruit filled cheese. Very good. The only problem he had with his meal was that the very generous wedge salad was served on a narrow oblong plate. He had difficulty cutting up his salad without lettuce falling on the table. I ordered from the Savor Sarasota menu which has been extended through the month of June. I had tuna poke as the appetizer, churrasco steak, potato medley and asparagus as my main course and chocolate mousse for dessert. The portion sizes are tremendous. The tuna poke had a sweet spicy sauce that was great. I could have ordered it as a main course with a salad. The steak was tender, cooked to perfection and had a flavorful herb rub to be eaten on the side. The potatoes were multi-colored and well cooked as was the aspargus. The chocolate mousse had bits of chocolate scattered throughout and was deep and rich in flavor. An excellent meal. Throughout our meal Andrew kept our water and iced tea topped off and frequently checked on how we were doing. He made sure we validated our valet parking ticket. The only reason that this is not a 5 star review is the small salad plate, the very dry bread and the fact that we were kept waiting for the valet to bring our car. The next time if we have a time issue, we'll allow for 10 to 15 minutes for car retrieval. We will certainly be coming back. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and ambiance. read more

Last night at dinner, there was one girl waitressing the entire restaurant and one bartender. No other help. Those poor kids were awesome and did their best but they could barely manage to attend to everyone's needs. The management should have hired a couple more people to help out. My first and last trip to Bridges restaurant left me disappointed and confused. The Savor Sarasota menu looked inviting but each course was more disappointing than the last. The caprese appetizer had unripe sliced tomatoes with a cold dried out slice of breaded eggplant that no amount of balsamic glaze could save. The main course shrimp Po boy advertise a nice toasted bun of which there was a cold store-bought piece of bread hardly any sauce at all another unripe slice of tomato. All hopes were on the dessert just to salvage a terrible experience but the sponge like block called bread pudding dessert just sealed the deal for the worst lunch I can remember. read more

We asked the waiter who greeted us if he could turn down he music and he said, "I don't know why that would bother you." We are all older people. He implied that we were probably deaf as he said his wife sold hearing aids. He showed us to a table and we ordered the capers appetizer that was unripe tomato slices on breaded eggplant, the eggplant was barely there and the mozzarella cheese was ice cold with a dash of balsamic glaze. My friend and I pushed our plates forward. He wanted to know if we didn't like it, we both said no. He asked if we wanted mushroom soup instead. We both said yes. He brought one bowl of soup and two spoons. Huh! He walked away before I could ask, but later did, if we supposed to both eat out of the same bowl. "Yes, I thought she could try it and if she wanted it I would get her some". Has he not heard of Covid or basic hygiene? Sure let her dig into my soup. I will say the soup was very good, but she got her own. The the shrimp po boy came in a soft roll, not the toasted one as it said on the menu, three shrimp and a slap of iceberg lettuce and a dab of sauce. It was really bad. We ate the shrimp. I had asked how the bread pudding was and he said it was "flaky layers of pastries with a sauce". It was a brick of compacted bread sludge with a very sweet sauce and dabs of whipped cream. Then, he takes my husbands credit card and as he walks too quickly away for us to stop him, he says "I'll run this." We were not ready yet, maybe we wanted coffee, maybe my husband wanted to put a tip on it. Anyway a very bad experience. A taste was enough for us, we will not go back.
