What a gem for breakfast! I visited two days in a row, and both experiences were amazing but the second visit completely won me over. On day one, I had the eggs Benedict and the ricotta pancakes both were absolutely delicious. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and so flavorful. But day two? That's when I fell in love. I ordered the shrimp and grits along with the crunchy French toast... and wow. Easily the best I've ever had. The wait was quite a bit since they were packed due to the snow birds being in town but the food was worth it! The restaurant was clean and nice. The portions are HUGE! Went here for lunch recently with a church friend who lives in a retirement facility nearby. Even though his facility includes top-notch meals in a beautiful dining room, he comes here occasionally and I can see now why. The interior, although a bit cramped, is bright and clean and the servers are very efficient and courteous. Our sandwiches arrived quickly and they were delicious. This was a family-owned restaurant that served breakfast and lunch dishes. The tables were very close together, so it was tight to move around. The service was friendly, and the food came out in a timely manner. I ordered the cobb salad ($15.99). I opted for blackened chicken. It came with romaine lettuce, avocado, blue cheese, bacon, pickled red onions, tomato, hard boiled egg and a green goddess dressing. This was great. This was a good-sized salad with a ton of all of the filing. The chicken was cooked to my liking while the green goddess dressing was tasty. I do not remember ever having this type of dressing with a cobb, but it worked well. It also seemed like all of the ingredients were very fresh. I also tried the chocolate chip pancakes. A pancake was large and appetizing. I really enjoyed how the chips melted right into the pancake. I also tried the orzo salad and it was okay. Something seemed off. It might have been the shredded cheese on top. It was not needed at all. Will I go back? No doubt. read more

Just left here for breakfast. The food was really good and our waitress, Erin, was incredible. I'm a big believer in the fact that you always have a choice to be kind and I have now had two really rude interactions with the older woman with long hair who was checking the food that was coming out of the kitchen. Today's event, however, was one of the rudest interactions I've had with any person at a restaurant ever. My sister and dad both ordered a Spanish omelet completely as it was on the menu. My sisters had chorizo and pico like the menu says. My dads had tomato and cheese only. When my dad told our server that he had received the wrong omelet, she apologized and said she put in the wrong order for him and took his omelet back to get him the Spanish omelet. The woman with long hair brought the plate back to my dad, forcefully set it in front of him, and told him it was the Spanish omelet. She started to walk away and I said "the menu said it comes with chorizo and pico" and she told me "no it doesn't, you have to order that extra." I told her I would pull up the menu to show her and then she walked away and refused to bring him the right omelet. Eventually our server brought us a side of chorizo, but they wouldn't make him the right omelet or bring him a new one with everything in it. I've never had someone refuse to make someone the right order- especially after our server admitted she put in the wrong item for my dad- and then argue about what the menu says, and then walk away and refuse to have a dialogue or fix the problem. I was blown away by her rudeness. It was enough that I will never be back to this place again. The other incident from the other day occurred when she saw our car seat and made a big deal about how inconvenient it was to have a car seat in the restaurant with us because it required us to have a table with some extra space. read more

Asked for a water and it tasted horrible. Bad start. Coffee was weak, oh my. Do we stay? Had corned beef hash and had a biscuit. It was ok. Tiny bit of beef was hidden under the large amount of spuds. Biscuit was ok. The most memorable part of the breakfast with 4 of us was how much they wanted us to get out of there so someone could take our chairs. Can't even go out with friends anymore. Went here with my mom for a brunch and I got the lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes, not pictured, but she got their biscuit with egg cheese and bacon and she really enjoyed it. The servers are very friendly here and the service is quick and efficient. The bathroom is clean. They have a nice outdoor seating area that is covered so the sun is not beaming down your face, a great spot for brunch. read more

Our food was served quickly, despite the full house. The Reuben was hot and had the right amount of sliced corned beef and sauerkraut. I'd prefer more dressing and Swiss cheese, but the grilled, crispy bread made up for it. I loved the potato salad, too. The gyros were filled with plenty of sliced meat, topped generously with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and fresh tzatziki. The coleslaw was good - the fries were excellent! The iced tea was fresh. I'm usually not a pancake person, but these were very good and they were generous with the blueberries. I also got the excellent ham steak which was thick-cut and nicely seared on both sides. We stopped in for lunch after our visit to the Marie Selby Spanish point gardens. This is located less than a mile from the gardens so it seemed like a good option. Friday at 12:30pm was crowded but we were able to be seated inside without a wait. Ironically, it was more difficult to find a parking space than a table. Their 7th anniversary of being open was being celebrated with complimentary mimosas. Positive note- drinking water was really good which can be difficult to find in Sarasota- especially the further south ventured. Hubby ordered the argula pecan green apple salad with blue cheese and I opted for the Greek salad. Both portions were good size and fresh but both salads were mostly greens and not much of the goodies. Certainly a bustling place for locals - would not make a special trip but if we were in the area, it would be an option. Service was friendly and efficient. read more

Their biscuits & sausage gravy were other-worldy, their homefries crunchy to perfection, their pancakes and french toast both balanced (sweet but not too sweet). The service was solid, they were extremely busy but it moved quickly, offered coffee refills, and was polite. Having an online waiting list is clutch, as if you're driving there you can get through the waiting list while you're on your drive.
