This is a nice, casual family-friendly restaurant with beautiful views. The downstairs area was closed for a private event when we went for dinner, so we didn't explore the play area, but the dining room was great and had a wall of windows overlooking the water. There was also a lot of outdoor seating on the covered deck. We ordered some drinks and a lot of food: mussels, grilled grouper, linguine and clams, fish and chips, and key lime pie for dessert. Everything was tasty and reasonably priced. The only thing I will say is that the sauces are pretty buttery and rich. The mussels were properly cleaned, the grouper was nicely cooked, and the key lime pie was perfectly tart and delicious! All in all, I would return again. read more

My husband and I had the 'savor sarasota' lunch and it was delightful. I had shrimp cocktail and he had the spinach artichoke dip. Both were so good and so plentiful that we could have stopped eating then. But we both had Cobb salads on the way with an amazing bacon vinagrette! Evie's at The Point was the perfect place to have my husband's Surprise 70th birthday gathering. Julie Asher and her team made everything even more perfect! The combination indoor/outdoor venue facing sunset on the Bay is a wonderful casual place to have your friends and family mingle and relax. The beautiful open space with comfortable sofas and games, the beautifully decorated tables and food set-up under-cover for eating and drinking with bistro tables in all the right places, and the comfortable space to meet at the bar made our party very memorable and one that people are still talking about! Julie was very responsive to all my questions and requests in planning the party. Her patience, attention to detail and guidance in helping me choose all the things to make our classic-car-themed party perfect was much appreciated. The menu was perfect and the food and drinks were great! Even missing one of her team members on party day, Julie and Frank handled it all with a smile and everyone really enjoyed the day. Stopped by here with friends and enjoyed sitting on the porch for dinner. The weather was perfect, the drinks delicious, and the food was fantastic. A once-favorite spot that struggles with consistency. We used to be regulars at The Point, going weekly, but over time, the quality--followed by the service--began to decline. We've given it a few chances here and there, hoping for improvement, but nothing has stood out enough to make us regulars again. Most recently, we visited on Sunday, February 16. They still had their Valentine's Day specials, which looked good, but we ordered from the regular menu. My other half had the fish and chips, which were solid. I had the sole with seafood stuffing--light and fresh but a bit bland until I added some salt and a splash of lemon, which helped bring out the flavors. The garlic mashed potatoes were fantastic, and the asparagus was well-prepared. One of my biggest frustrations is how frequently the menu changes. Some of my favorites from their original menu are long gone, and it feels like there's no consistency. The same goes for the staff--I've noticed a revolving door of employees, including managers, which might explain the inconsistency. That said, the team working that evening was friendly, attentive, and helpful, which I appreciated. Overall, The Point has potential, but the lack of stability in both the menu and staff makes it hard to rely on. I'd love to see them find their footing again. read more

Busy evening at the Point. We were there in time for sunset. The sunset was lovely however the service was extremely slow. The wait staff was polite and accommodating. The meal was so so. The calamari was tender and hot. We had the fish and chips. It was a little on the greasy side. It was not flavorful. I should have stuck to my favorite salad. The Margarita was sour. We went here, my wife and I, her son and his wife and 2 grandsons for dinner last night 21/07/25. We had six people and everyone was hungry. Teal was our server,she was on top of her job and took great care of us. Everyone liked their food and we had a nice round table so that we could all talk together and everyone had a great view of the inter coastal waterway. The view was beautiful, complimented by a clean and modern space. The cocktails were delicious, the Molly Martinis 10/10. The food and service not so great. Our server wasn't very attentive and when he brought new drinks he didn't clear the old glasses, leaving our table very cluttered. I was disappointed with the food. The green beans looked frozen, the rice a small ball... with little flavor and the seafood was meh also tasted like it had been frozen. My husband and I had a date night tonight and we had dinner at a neat place on the bay in Osprey, Florida, that we had never heard of. The Point. Also known as Evies on the Point. Built 3 years ago. Nice. Casual. Inexpensive. Killer views. Plus there is a huge tiki bar/restaurant on site with a different menu and live music . A big lawn with games and chairs to sit and watch the sunset. Which we did. Great food. Joe, our server, was delightful. So was the sunset. We will definitely return and maybe try the tiki bar restaurant next time. It's all good. read more

Celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at the Point last weekend with the help of their outstanding event planner Julie. It was amazing!! Fabulous spot right on the water with lots of room for the grandkids to hangout! Wonderful staff who made sure everyone was hydrated, fed and they even served us all the cake! The buffet food was delicious, most guests took home a "to go" box!! The ambiance was so beautiful- staff put up with all my requests for every detail to be perfect. We could not have been happier with our choice for this venue for our special day. We highly recommend The Point for any private party... our kids want to make it an annual family reunion spot! read more

Stopped in here right when I arrived in town for a weekend visit and had one of my favorite drinks of the stay - the coconut margarita. So good! We also had the queso and fried shrimp and both were great. Will say the service was a tad slow but at a tiki bar on the beach with great views I really can't complain. My husband's hamburger looked like it had been cooked last night...cold... My Shrimp stuff, cold and extra boring! We used to love this place, too many beautiful places to choose from to have to pay 45.00 (including 20% tip) Waited 15 minutes to be served cold food by a loud/abrasive server...was being shadowed so obviously her first day... We have dined here before probably 4-5 times and had no complaints. Our dinner this evening was not worthy of any praise. An artichoke dip as an appetizer was boring along with the tasteless chips. I had a panko shrimp entree that was awful & cold and not fresh shrimp for sure. At $26 I would expect fresh (not frozen). Our coffee and desert was equally awful. I can't understand how this restaurant has gone down hill so quickly. Very disappointed and reluctant to try again. read more

Let me just start off by calling them out on their "grouper": there's no way this was actual grouper. They have to be subbing it out with Swai or some other cheaper fraudulent white fish in lieu of legit grouper that clearly has a higher food cost. I wish they could be tested for this as it's completely unacceptable. Views are great, service is good. Food is mediocre-Sysco-tourist-grade at best which is such a shame. This place would be jammin' busy if the food wasn't meh. Get better quality food, let the chef be a creative chef, raise prices, and cut the menu down if you want more business. Also don't fool us on fake fish. read more

Stopped for lunch, had the mussels that were good. Had a blackberry drink too much soda or too much ice anyway could not taste the high end gin. And the place is run down. Went to the hut first very dirty almost as bad as years ago. So I Went to the point, just as bad really needs some deep cleaning. The fans and the heaters were thick with dirt. We are visiting from Columbus and staying in Venice. We decided to come up from the day to visit some friends who recommended this place. It did not disappoint. If you are looking for some great food and views this is an excellent choice. We had the grilled peppers, truffled fries, Scallops, and Cauliflower Steak. I can't remember what my friends got but it looked amazing. The truffled fries are super delicious. The peppers are great too. I really enjoyed the scallops and the risotto that comes with them. They don't take reservations Monday through Wednesday but the host let me know when I called if we came in around seven we would be able to come in without much of a wait. This ended up being completely accurate and we were even able to catch a tail end of the sunset. Prices are a little high, but as this restaurant sits right on the water, it's to be expected. Service was friendly and efficient. We were definitely pleased with our experience, and definitely recommend. read more

Looked for a sunset place for guests in town and found The Point. The sunset was nice so I give that 5 stars (thanks Mother Nature). It's a very casual type dinning more for lunch than dinner. We had reservations at 6:45 and it was busy. They seemed a little overwhelmed and a little confused when we got there.We were checked in but weren't seated until 7:30. At 7:00 I stood at the podium and no one came out or acknowledged us for a while. We were finally seated outside on the second floor with a nice view. The waitress was nice and accommodating but the kitchen must have gave up by that point. It took a long time to get our food after ordering. The blacked salmon was excellent and spiced up well. The fish and chips were pretty good. The Mahi Mahi bites on the other hand were awful. They tasted like they've been left on the dock a day to long. They must use the same oil for frying fish as they do for the fries because everything had the fishy taste. Unfortunately, I had the Mahi Mahi po' boy with the same results as the mahi mahi bites. Not good. The waitress apologized and said there was a transition going on in the kitchen. I'm thinking the kitchen was slow which made reservations pile up stressing the staff making customers angry. If that's correct, I have to cut them some slack and hope the kitchen gets things worked out soon. It's a nice place for a casual, "come as you are", lunch but they seem to have some kinks to work out for dinner. read more

So.....we give three stars for how service started, we ask a very bored, nonchalant hostess if we could sit outside and we were willing to wait, that seemed to completely exasperate her and she led us to the bar, sighed and said she'd be back to seat us in 5 minutes, it never happened. The saving grace of the place was our bartender, Avery, while initially she was a little taken aback, probably because of our lack of commitment to staying at the bar, but once we overcame that hurdle it was game!! She was bright and pleasant, and made a great cocktail. Food took a while to come out, and was pretty tasty, it could have been warmer. So all in all a good afternoon lunch, and we would go again. The Point is a unique waterfront dining experience that's family friendly or terrific for a date night. Situated in a three-story contemporary coastal building, the only thing separating guests from the waterway is a sunshade curtain that can be pulled down if it's too sunny for your liking. Your choice, dine casually or eat a little more of a formal meal. We enjoyed cocktails followed by a meat, cheese and fruit appetizer platter. It was a huge plate made for two people to share. My main course was the Chilean sea bass. It was prepared perfectly with a lemon butter sauce, outstanding flavor, the fish was meaty and fresh. I couldn't have asked for anything more from my meal on the water. The restaurant was busy during the sunset hour but our server managed to efficiently handle the rush. As you know, parking near waterfront venues is usually a concern, but there's plenty of free parking in the lot adjacent to the building. So this is Little Sarasota Bay at its best, awesome food, booze and views make this an awesome dining choice in Osprey. Salute! read more

Our Family had a Wedding Rehearsal dinner at The Point on Friday May 3, 2024! There was plenty of parking available, elevator to the 3rd floor overlooking "Little Sarasota Bay! To say that the view is spectacular is a perfect description! A beautiful breeze and a perfect sunset was the highlight if the evening. There were 40 people and the servers deserve a 10!!!! The food was very good: Garden Salad, Salmon, chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, fresh vegetables, and a vegetarian spinach pasta dish. There are shades in case of a strong breeze or too much sun ! I worked with Julie Asher at the Point to arrange a surprise 60 th birthday party for my wife. We utilized the downstairs venue and yard. The coordination and arrangements were smooth. All my guests were blown away with the venue and the overall event. Julie asked all the right questions regarding the menu and head count etc. The food selection was perfect. The quantity as suggested by Julie was spot on. The quality exceeded expectations for what we wanted. I wanted the music to drive the event. I did not want to deal with creating my own playlists etc even though that was an option. Julie recommended a DJ she had worked with before. Natasha, DJ Keza, had everyone up and moving. I gave her minimal direction on genres etc and relied on her expertise. She knocked it out of the park. She also had a Photo Booth option that we used and was a huge crowd pleaser. I highly suggest anyone looking to book a space for an event to reach out to Julie at the Point when searching venues. As for the cost. It was not the cheapest venue I looked into. But the cost was more than reasonable for what was delivered. My party was only 60 people but the venue could easily accommodate many more. Especially utilizing the courtyard area. read more

A hidden gem near Venice, Florida. This is a bayside restaurant that you can slide up on with you boat. The atmosphere is amazing, waterfront, breezy, outdoor seating where you can stare at the ocean, there is an outdoor bar area on the lower level and a total of 3 floors to the restaurant in total. The food is very light and consists mostly of seafood fare and salads. The lobster rolls are a must have. Highly recommended for the waterside atmosphere read more
