I'm updating my review since I've been here around ten more times since my last review. When you have a newborn who hates their carseat and you want breakfast your pickup options are limited. Enter First Watch! Unfortunately you can't order online, but when you call someone picks up right away and is happy to take your order. Our order has been perfect almost every time and only takes around ten minutes to prepare. Basically we place our order, drive on over, and our food is waiting for us. The only thing we sometimes have to wait on is drinks. I'm guessing since it's separate from the kitchen the staff just waits to pour them until you arrive. My favorite dish is their extraordinary egg sandwich. It's freaking good! With the avocado, cheese, and arugula its delicious and filling. I also love their home fries, they are always seasoned super well which I'm a big fan of. No matter the temperature I also grab an iced coffee, it's preprepared and I always enjoy it. Overall a good spot to dine in, but a great spot for quick pickup! read more

Whoah Momma! I LOVED First Watch. C'mon, when you start with Million Dollar Bacon, crisp-ok, yes so.much.sugar.goodness. It was right tasty and split between three people...can't be toooo bad, right? I split the Skillet Hash -Farmhouse because: . I am trying to add more avocado to my life as it is so good for you. My daughter had the cornbread carnitas and she cleaned that plate. Service was great, bathrooms clean. I love sitting outside, you are off Glenwood past Crabtree mall so not a view but a great breeze and I enjoyed being outside. Oh! Also I am always happy when I can use the Yelp! Feature to get on the waitlist. We were sat pretty quickly with that tool. Waiting is for suckers lol. Came here on a Sunday morning early. Our server was great, though her mask was below her nose. Most of the staff wore their mask below their nose. The law in NC now is that you only have to wear one if you've been vaccinated. So, either the company requires it and no one respects the rules, or they are not vaccinated and still after 15 months of this they can't figure out that the mask goes over their nose. Either one is not good. The food was very meh. I would not return. Eggs were over cooked. Additionally, they offer 2 dollars off to leave a review. I did not write this review while I was there to get the 2 dollars off. Now, they didn't say to leave a good review, they just asked for a review. But when you're giving someone a coupon for their review and requiring they show their server the review to get this coupon.... Why would anyone leave anything less than 4 stars? I am a HUGE breakfast person. I will gladly eat it morning, noon and night. First Watch offers a number of good and flavorful options. I have to admit, I have only enjoyed a few of the breakfast options at this restaurant because I found my favorite which is now called the Skillet Hash - Farmhouse; this yummy dish includes eggs atop seasoned potatoes, bacon, avocado, roasted onions, tomatoes and cheese. The breakfast/brunch menu also includes numerous omelets, frittatas, benedicts, quinoa bowls, pancakes, waffles, and French toast. The lunch menu has a wonderful offering including a variety of salads including Cobb and Chicken Avocado or sandwiches including a club, melts and a few burgers. Unfortunately, their breakfast is so good, I will probably never enjoy one of these yummy sounding options. The meals are quite a good size, and I am definitely not HUNGRY for more when I leave. I definitely suggest checking out First Watch if you are anywhere near one of the locations in the area. read more

Took a fellow Yelper and friend here for a belated birthday brunch. It's not your normal breakfast eatery. One look at the menu confirms it! I ordered "the works" omelette (Ham, bacon, sausage, house-roasted Crimini mushrooms, onions and tomatoes with Cheddar and Monterey Jack. Topped with all-natural sour cream) - description from the website. Plate presentation seemed to be dominated with a side a greens that overshadowed the eggs. After many months I returned to the Cary location to give them another try. Sadly, my second experience was worse than my previous experience. My poached eggs were nearly hard boiled, my potatoes AND bacon were cool, and my toast was ... well, not really toasted. With so few customers you would think they could do a basic breakfast well. First Watch is definitely a welcoming brunch spot that sits right off Hwy 70 aka Glenwood Avenue. I have visited with family and friends on countless occasions and each occasion was enjoyable. Staff is always friendly, but a bit slow at times and not always attentive to refill those empty cups at the tables. The food is always fresh, colorful, and full of flavor. My favorite is their French Toast. For any French Toast fan you will want to visit on multiple occasions because this is one dish they expand on for their seasonal menus. I've tried their Nutella French Toast, Pumpkin French Toast, Floridian French Toast, and the regular version too. Each was phenomenal! The latest, Floridian, is covered with sliced bananas, strawberries, and kiwi always served with hot maple syrup. I am totally salivating as I write this lol. I've never really enjoyed their lunch sandwiches as the couple I tried were pretty bland, but you may fare differently. All the other breakfast items are great though as I've dug into many family members plates ;) The restaurant is kid friendly, clean overall, plenty of bright natural light, outdoor seating, and a nice modern decor. I think there are quite a few things going for First Watch that makes it deserve its 4-star average rating. I'll start from the beginning: Wait: When we put down our name, the hostess told us to expect a 20-25 minute wait, we which expected, given that we came on Sunday at noon. It was less than that though - only about a 10-15 minute wait, which always makes hungry people happier. Food: My friends ordered the farmhouse hash and breakfast tacos, and I ordered the triathlete omelette with regular eggs (instead of egg whites). My friend and I really liked her potatoes in the hash. I didn't like my omelette at all though - I asked to add in butternut squash, but it wasn't cooked properly (still crunchy), and the whole dish just tasted two dimensional, even with salt and pepper. But I'm giving this place 4 stars because: Our server: My friends finished all their food, and when she came to pick up the plates, I said that I didn't like my food, and that I'd rather get the hash that my friend had - I'd still be willing to pay for my omelette, but I'd like something else. She didn't hesitate - she said immediately that she will change it for me. I was very impressed and very pleased by her going the extra mile for me. She then even circled back and asked me how I liked the new dish. The yummier food, plus the kindness, made it taste really good. Paying: You pay out front, and a smiling cashier is willing to split the check according to how you want to pay. Overall, great experience! read more

If the parking lot is full and there is a wait the entire time that is a good sign, right? Definitely the case here. Expect a wait but so worth it for the food. I had the seasonal frittata and freshest squeezed orange juice. I requested fresh berries rather than the fruit cup with gluten free toast rather than regular. It all was phenomenal! I sent the toast back because it was barely warmed and it was fixed quickly. I had to ask another waitress for the toast fix. The reason I took one star off was for our waitress. I understand they were busy but she could have checked on our food. My friend had an Italian Rustica omelette and she said it was good. Overall very pleased! read more

Food - four stars, service - five stars. First time for me at this restaurant. I got the tri-feta. Eggs, bacon, and pancake. It was definitely 2 steps above ihop/waffle house food in overall taste and presentation. The eggs were fantastic. The drawback is the cost is high. For my plate and iced tea it was $15. There are nice high end ingredients which I'm sure is a factor. The iced tea is fresh brewed, which is a key requirement for me. I like the ambiance of the place. We have been twice now as the family really likes this place and it's great for groups. Staff has always been super friendly. I really love that they give you the option of turkey sausage and turkey gravy because we can't eat pork and not a lot of places give you that option. My favorite is the biscuits and turkey sausage gravy with eggs and I got the butternut squash bisque as a side which is seasonal. The kids love the French toast and the chocolate chip pancakes and they add turkey sausage as a side. Florentine eggs benedict was also really good. Worst service. Had to ask 4 times for silver ware. No butter brought out with toast. No pico on omelette supposed to be. Manager came by and reprimanded me for "being rude" to servers when I simply was frustrated having to ask for basic things that we ordered and came with the meal. I have never been spoken to this way and I feel that she was treating me that way due to the color of my skin. If I could give zero stars I would and will never come back to this mediocre establishment where the staff is rude and useless. read more

Today I ordered Farmhouse Hash, avocados were black because they have been cut yesterday, no fresh! so I just had to put them on the side, maybe the cook thought there was nothing wrong with them and he might be right, would he still use them if he wanted to impress the new girlfriend? nooo, of course not so why give them to a repeat customer. This is the first FW in North Carolina although the franchise boasts around 100 stores nationwide. They strive for locally sourced seasonal produce whenever possible and make their own granola. Delicious, healthy variety of breakfast and lunch items. My hubby and I stopped in after 2pm for a late lunch. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. FW is open for breakfast and lunch only with a closing time of 2:30pm. The food was very good. The butternut squash soup was thick, creamy, and delicious. The generously sized portion of the cherry chicken quinoa bowl included bits of zucchini, chopped almonds, dried cherries, chicken breast, and a balsamic glaze dressing. A little on the sweet side, but very tasty. The fruit in the crepes was fresh & ripe. The crepes are drizzled with yogurt and come with a fresh hot housemade muffin, and granola. Dee-lish. But before I go down to why I rate one let me explain something... if a restaurant open early in the morning it should be ready for the day, ; like floor clean, tables clean, utensils clean, bathroom clean, RIGHT???? So, by the time me and my friends finished eating, a huge cockroach just decided to pay me a visit under the table and crawled to the next table. I wasn't scared of cockroaches but since I got my allergy test result that says I'm allergic to cockroaches, that made scream a lil and pull my legs up to the sits. I absolutely loved First Watch! This was my first time and I had a great experience. I had put my name on the wait in advance (via Yelp) and was sat immediately when we arrived. I was able to have the coconut milk chia seed pudding and potatoes (made vegan) and it was DELICIOUS. I've been sleeping on chia seeds. There is definitely a wait for most parties, but they offer a little water and coffee station which is cute. Once it's warm enough for the patio that would be a great seat also. Headed here during Saturday lunch to check out their lemon ricotta pancakes, a favorite of mine. It was very crowded, so I waited about 20 minutes for a table. Besides the pancakes, I decided to try their special Million Dollar Bacon coated with black pepper, cayenne, brown sugar and a drizzle of maple syrup. The pancakes were good, though I'm not a big fan of buckwheat blend batter. Still, they were light and fluffy, and the lemon curd and fruit on top was delicious. I also enjoyed the spicy bacon but it wasn't tasty enough for me to spend that much on four slices again. Also, the taste of the parsley on top didn't work with this dish.
