I was excited to finally have my first break at First Watch. The menu was very appealing and finally decided on the pick 2 option with half a sandwich and a salad. The roast beef sandwich was nice, toasted sourdough bread, carmelized onions with a hunt if horseradish sauce. The salad had greens, pecans, chicken tired in a honey mustard sauce. I did not like the dressing, was not my taste. The traditional breakfast was disappointing. The plate was full of grease, maybe the bacon should have had the grease drained. The bread was grease soaked as were the potatoes. Overall, for $35 (included tip) it was disappointing, average at best. read more

First time at this location. Just a stones throw from Crabtree Mall. Service was spot on! Friendly staff and our server, AImee greeted us behind a masked smile in these times of Covid. I began with a Kale tonic which was a great start to my meal. I ordered the Bacado omelette (minus the bacado as I don't eat bacon. I know, a travesty but I'm doing me. It usually comes with a salad but I really like their seasoned potatoes. No problem subbing. It comes with pico de Gallo and sour cream and lots of yummy avocados. Food came out quick and fresh and hot. Very satisfying start to our day. Would definitely return to this location. Hubby enjoyed his chickichanga meal. I've been wanting to try this restaurant in Virginia Beach but when I saw there was a location near my hotel in Raleigh while visiting this weekend; I jumped at the chance to try it. Pack your patience, there's usually a 20 minute wait. We ordered the classic breakfast (eggs, pork links. Artesian toast and potatoes & the trifecta (Belgian waffle, eggs and bacon). Everything was good but the waffle was cold. It was probably due to the waitress waiting for the other order. I prefer booth seating and not tables close to one another party where waitresses squeeze in between with their bottoms in your face. Next time I will request booth seating so I can really enjoy my meal. You won't be disappointed read more

We are all entitled to our own opinions, right? Well here's mine: Parking: 5 Location: 5 Decor/ambiance: 5 Customer Service: 4 First Watches are popping up all over the triangle. If you're like me you're probably wondering whats going on and what do they sell? Well... if you love brunch you'll love First Watch. I think of these guys as a step above IHop, Waffle House, Bob Evans, etc. I love this location as they always seem so happy and eager to help and serve. The servers are always chipper and joyful. The meals are amazing and the food is always hot. I had ordered home fries and wanted them crispy and it seemed as if this was something that could be done according to my server. When the fries came to the table they were soft :( At that time the server said that she thinks it would be hard for the cooks to get them any crispier. She was helpful but it sucked to have soft fries. At the end of the day the meal was good! read more

I have been going to this store for years. I will not be going back after dealing with the management. I put in an pickup order online and accidently put a 30$ tip instead of a 3$ tip on a 32$ breakfast. (I know my bad and my fault). I did call the restaurant and talked to management and asked if they could refund me any of the money due to it being a mistake. I understand they paid out the tip to their workers already, but asked if they could give me a discount on my next meal or a gift card for 20$. My boyfriend and I stopped in here for breakfast on Saturday morning and I am so happy we did! We were out running errands in Raleigh and feeling a bit hangry for a good breakfast. I suggested First Watch based on the great Yelp reviews and the breakfast selections looked healthy. Walking into the restaurant we were greeted by a bubbly, happy hostess and we were promptly seated. I noticed they had a container filled with cold citrus cucumber water to drink while you waited for a table, and I thought that was a nice touch. The decor had clean, modern "farm vibes" and that's right up my alley. Our waitress ended up being the happy hostess who seated us. We ordered coffee and water and the coffee was delicious. It was good and strong, we loved it. I ordered the turkey sausage biscuit and gravy with scrambled eggs and home fries. My boyfriend ordered the Traditional breakfast, which came with bacon, scrambled eggs, toast and home fries. We both loved our food. The eggs were fluffy and light, and my boyfriend appreciated that they cooked his bacon perfectly (very well done). I loved that they had delicious turkey sausage gravy since I don't eat pork. I'd have given this 4 stars, but they forgot the other egg! My wife and I have eaten here several times before. The quality and service are normally very good. It's nice to be seated right away mid week, and our waitress was great. Coffee was quickly served and we placed our orders. I ordered one of the skillets, and we (the waitress and I) both understood that my eggs not be over done. I wanted a runny yoke (who doesn't on a skillet- that yolk running down over the potatoes and other goodies?). So when my 2 eggs showed up hard, and I mean HARD, there was no soft yolk let alone runny. I hate waiting for my waitress to return, so I asked someone to grab her. She took my dish back, (had we found her quicker, then Just re-do 2 eggs) and I waited. One perfectly cooked egg over the new dish. One. Seriously?? Service was good. But the kitchen ? They were severely understaffed, and I get it, but this isn't difficult to do and doesn't take long to get it right. About the same amount of effort to get it wrong. We will return, but it'll be a while. read more

Our waitress, Wilson, was extremely kind, understanding and knowledgeable. I have Celiac, and she helped me with getting non-contaminated gluten free food! I ended up getting gf toast and fresh fruit but she later let me know I could get gf French toast as they have a separate procedure for all gluten free food! The restaurant has a nice fresh, cozy, farm-y feel to is and I wish this was closer to my home!! read more

Friendly Service. Although can seem chaotic when busy. It can take a while to get your food sometimes. Sides can be hit or miss. This time my breakfast potatoes were slightly undercooked. Worst first watch I've ever been to, my food was disgusting the service was mediocre at best. Two different people looked me in my eyes and walked away before someone came to ask if we had been helped. On top of that my Togo order took over 30 min longer to prepare than what THEIR own website estimated it would take. There was sauce all over the outside of my to go containers, and the food was visibly sloppily thrown together. Would not recommend this location, the worst out 5 different locations I've been to. The quesadilla which was supposed to be BARBACOA meaning meat, had a singular chunk of meat and beans looked like soup. Deserves no stars but that's not an option read more

I have been to several First Watch establishments and I must say that this was one of the most efficient. I was a bit hesitant to stay when I saw that the restaurant was extremely busy but I am glad I stayed. The line moved quickly and no one waited an extreme amount of time. The hostess took seating requests quickly and there were several other staff members moving quickly to accommodate the requests. I didn't see one person lingering and you could tell service was a high priority. I met Chef Jay who was also assisting with requests and locating open seats for customers. The food came out quickly and was exactly as we requested. My cousin also asked a question about a drink she wanted and the server was happy to make a suggestion for the Cold Mint Coffee. Great food when they finally get it right. I've been coming to First Watch around Raleigh for a few months and they are one of my go-to breakfast and lunch restaurants, and every time that I order, the meal is messed up one way or the other. Parts of the ticket are forgotten, over medium eggs are scrambled instead, etc. They are always quick to fix the order but the frequency of errors is a bit crazy. The food is great, their fresh juice and breakfasts are top notch and everything tastes fresh. Certainly a refreshing change from a lot of other local diners. read more

I might be biased because I love hole in the wall, locally owned businesses. This is a well ran chain with good service and good food. This place has an open kitchen so ppl can here pretty much everything going on in the area around the kitchen. The cook was wearing headphones so he was having to yell. Unfortunately his potty mouth was very audible and his confrontational discussion with other employees was heard throughout the restaurant. Not a pleasant breakfast today. read more

I've been here many times in 2017/2018 when I was living up the street. I've since moved and circled back on a Sunday afternoon. On this particular visit, I'd say I had a 3 star experience. The wait was moderate and the new hosting staff was efficient. Free coffee while you wait still. The place was packed and the kitchen bustling. I ordered a acai bowl which came with toast with almond butter. The bowl itself wasnt very smooth in consistency and the berries were ok but not amazing. The bread was good. We ordered the morning burst (dont quote me on that name) which was a watermelon drink. They always advertise the specialty drinks, but they usually fall flat. This one was no exception. It had a bit of an off putting taste. More like a pressed juice then a tropical fruit juice like it seemed it would be in taste. Not horrible, just not for everyone. My boyfriend ordered the trifecta which is always a safe choice and he enjoyed it. Overall I felt the meal lacked a certain 'excitement' or savoriness that we were looking for. I gave 4 stars because other times I have been, it's always been very good and I think this could potentially be a one off.... I like first watch's menu over all. They have health conscious options and some pretty unique items on the menu. I'd say give it a try if have not read more

I have been to a couple of other First Watch's and they were excellent, this one was terrible. While the Egg's Benedict looked really good, and the flavor was good. They were cold when they got here. I was never asked by the staff how it was until almost done. Also I received dirty silverware, and no I am sorry just a I will get another one for you with a gruff look. Customer service was terrible. Weird because the older ladies at the front were very nice, helpful and pleasant to people who came in the door. Had to wait 10 mins - not to pick up my food but just to pay for my food. It was already done sitting on the table but the cashiers were very avoidant with me as if they are scared of black people or black men. When I finally got acknowledged the lady asked me what did I need, no greeting at all. I simply replied that I just wanted to pay for the food I ordered. Very rude and avoidant by the older women in the front. Food was done in time and was good but wow. read more

We followed by sharing three entrees: 1) the Wisconsin grilled cheese sandwich (swap sourdough for wheat bread): good basic grilled cheese, the apple slices were thin and not super crispy, I didn't think they added more than a smidgen of flavor, 2) shrimp and grits: not as cheesy as many, with a little kick to the shrimp, and 3) classic mac & cheese. Classic, but also basic: next time I'll go for something more interesting. We finished off with the banana pudding, which was disappointing: many slices of hard, flavorless fruit. We split on the whipped topping: I thought it was good, fam said it tasted like Cool Whip. Service was good, server asked if I wanted a refill when I started getting low.

Plates weren't collected until we were almost done and we had to keep refilling our own drinks. There were plenty of them there working but they were just standing around much of the time. English was not their first language and they didn't seem to know any answers to our questions. For $65 per person and mandatory payment plus 18% gratuity 2 days before, it's not worth it. Tips are meant to be post-service, when you can decide if the person earned it. They most definitely did not.

We had to glad a couple of servers down for help only for them to point out who our server was. It was a bit of confusion but everything eventually worked itself out in the end.
