I frequent here about once a week because the food is perfect every time. I can tell their ingredients are clean as well because I'm pretty sensitive and I don't have any issues when I eat here. It is well managed, the wait staff is excellent every time. They have a clean, covered patio for days on nice weather. Literally no complaints. read more

I will admit, I have the same thing every time I go to First Watch: the TriFecta. It's not because nothing else sounds good...it's because the TriFecta is that good. I always tell myself "try something different for once", but I always end up with a plate of scrambled eggs, bacon, and a multigrain pancake (had the blueberry today). Simple yet so satisfying. Their seasonal menu always looks delicious, I've personally never had any issues with quality of the food or any servers. The prices are average, but it also isn't fair to compare cost and quality to other joints nearby since they're all different. I can't attest to the wait on the weekends, but when I stop in before work during the week, there is absolutely no wait at all. The only thing that I would care to mention is that the iced coffee only comes pre sweetened and with creamer. Can't get it black. It's good, but definitely something to note. My husband went to the location in Arkansas and he was thrilled to see it in phoenix. Sunday morning for breakfast and we sat immediately. The server was very friendly and helpful with recommendations and suggestions. We got one of their juices/smoothies. My husband ordered a breakfast scramble and I got the eggs Benedict. The food was fast, fresh and prepared to our specifications. The atmosphere is relaxed and cheerful. It's a great local spot that you wouldn't guess is a national chain. The scrambled eggs were good, but what I really went there for a scrambled egg taco. The tortilla is made with a mix of wheat and corn. There are too many people who only eat gluten free these days whether for allergies or preference to be mixing healthy corn with wheat. She was great, though I don't understand how the server ignored a table for that long. He actually only came to our table twice- once to drop syrup, without introducing himself or saying anything to us, and once to drop the check. We had to stop him to ask for more water. While the service was lacking from our direct server, the food vastly improved the score.. easily a 5 star breakfast. Just had the worst experience at First Watch. I'm sitting down now at Over easy after my girlfriend and I waited for 30 minutes after ordering our simple breakfast and seeing people get their orders served to them and being seated after us. The very nice couple next to us said the same thing happen to them. Our server clearly forgot to put in our order. He said, he spoke with the kitchen and ours was next. He said, we are trying our best. I said, you guys are doing great with getting people their food, you just forgot about us. Very sad, because this WAS our favorite breakfast spot and clearly they didn't care about our experience. No manager tried to take care of us after we complained to a couple of their staff. Multi-Grain Blueberry Pancakes - Decent, thin panned flapjacks. Bit on the dry side indicating they used real grains =) The blueberries sweetened the flapjacks enough for my palette so that syrup was not needed. Breakfast Meats - I didn't have any but the thicker sliced bacon smelled good. My buddy says the bacon and sausage patty was great. Couple complimentary congratulatory notes~!!!! Jam (homemade?) - If this is homemade then you peeps are awesome. The jam was really good with its thickness and not so saturated with sugar as processed jelly is based off of. Coffee - When higher quality coffee is used then every brekkie just taste that much better. Location: SE Corner Plaza off of Camelback & 33rd. It's next to the golf store. Parking lot is puny with small lanes. Kinda weird considering how people in Phoenix appear to like big trucks/SUVs. Decor/Interior: Clean. Modern. Light-weight furniture with great spacing. Colors are on the blander-side but the deco theme is sufficient with what the joint is doing. Great location! I haven't been to first watch for a few years, but with family in town I decided to pay the restaurant a visit a few Sundays back. We reserved early online around 10:30 and only had to wait about 15-20 minutes to get seated. The host, server and food runners were super friendly and fast, and everything was delicious! Visiting First Watch truly exceeded my expectations from the warm and fuzzy welcome from the GM Tammy to the the safety precautions for covid. To know that everything is wiped down in between guest put me at ease. If your a soup lover do try the soup! The drinks are to die for and the thought and creativity put into them is astounding! I visit 3 different locations (Camelback, Thunderbird, Promenade) and the food is consistently delicious at each one. My go-to is the avocado toast - it's on a thick bread and has EVOO and lemon squeezed on top... drool. They have great pancakes, oatmeal, and I've heard good things about all of their "eggs-clusive" items as well. Don't miss the Kale Tonic green juice! For lunch I almost always get the veggie sandwich which I highly recommend. Overall service is pretty fast, I like how they can turn people in and out quickly. Such a cute little restaurant tucked into the corner of the intersection of Camelback and 32nd street! The interior has a very relaxing feel and there is an outside dining area as well. I got the iced chai cider on the seasonal menu which was light and crisp. The avocado toast was made with a generous amount of smashed avocados that was nicely seasoned, and on the side there were two perfect over easy eggs. First Watch is an AZ staple. Unfortunately, I don't understand what the hype is about. I had the steak and egg hash and thought the flank steak was under seasoned. It was served with parmesan crusted, days-old tasting ciabatta. The million dollar bacon had a little bit too much brown sugar and was way too sweet for my taste. I think it hurts me to write this review. I REALLY wanted to like this place so I went in to give it a second chance...but I regret it completely. My boyfriend and I ordered a few things just to see if what we had ordered last time happened to be a "bad day". First of all when I walked in I noticed a bad smell that threw me off but I ignored it. We ordered a whole wheat banana pancake, "chorizo" omelette and a "Italian sausages omelette. I was so disappointed in both. My omelette tasted like a pizza, it felt like my sausage was those unfrozen kind that goes on top of pizza. The chorizo omelette did not taste like chorizo at all... I ordered a side of salad with "lemon vinaigrette" & unfortunately it didn't taste like it had any dressing on it. I think what saddened me even more was that we waited almost 40 min for our food. We were trying to be understanding until...we saw that 3 other tables that were sat AFTER us, not only received their food but were almost done eating...while we were still waiting for our food. I will say though that the pancakes were good! SERVICE, was amazing. Our server was a sweet heart and even brought us samples of their tonics/juices! That's why I really wanted to like this place, because our server was a great guy. Giving the 2 stars only because we had an amazing server! Overall I can say that I don't see myself ever coming back here but if you're the type to want to pay about $34 for a breakfast that was, let's just say not the best, then go for it. read more

It comes on a ciabatta but i also opted to go full traditional and get it on an English muffin. It was perfect! Just the right amount of everything. My friend got the Elevated Sandwich and said his was fantastic as well. Everything was tasted fresh even right down to our OJ. The prices were more than reasonable as well. Stoped In today before my interview. I have to say that First Watch succeeded my experience and expectations. I went in for a water and to relax for a min but what I ended up with was a delicious "Biscuits and Gravy side order" which in my opinion looked like a full order. But I won't say anything. The food was great 5/5 for the food. I was helped and served by a lovely young woman, her name was Kameron. Miss Kameron was helpful in every way, her patience with my table was generous and timely. We got to try First Watch tonight as part of a special event, #FirstBiteatFirstWatch, with the No Kid Left Hungry campaign. They let us try items off their new fall menu, and we got to give donations in lieu of the check. It was so cool and a very fun experience! :) The fall menu was really yummy. It started with a Carrot Ginger Chai that I really liked. I didn't think I would because I'm not huge on ginger or carrot juices, but it was really sweet and had cinnamon flavors, too. I thought it was a very unique and interesting start for the breakfast items. Next we got to share an order of the Farmer's Biscuit Sandwich, Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal and Pumpkin Pancake Breakfast. The Pumpkin Pancake was definitely my favorite - I'll be coming back for that in the fall for sure! It came with warm maple syrup, chicken sausage and eggs. The pancake had a really tasty flavor that had just the right amount of pumpkin. The Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal wasn't for me, but I don't care for oatmeal in general lol. It's cool how they put cranberries and pepitas on top! It came with an orange-cranberry muffin that was good, though. The Farmer's Biscuit Sandwich was really tasty as well! I liked the arugula on it, and I really loved that they used mayo. On the side were breakfast potatoes and those were amazing :) I'm really happy I got to try the sneak-peak of this menu as part of such a unique event and good cause, but I think I will for sure come back again to try more of their menu items! read more

My first visit to a first watch turned out to be one of the worst breakfast experiences I've ever had. My wife and i are from Tucson and stayed the previous night in Scottsdale for an event. On our way out of town, i decided to try first watch for the first time. We arrived around 915am on the morning of August 27th. The restaurant was about half full, not too busy. We were greeted and sat promptly. Our server had another table who was seated right next to us. She took the table's order next to us, then proceeded to take ours. My wife ordered an omelet and i ordered a skillet with an extra egg on top. About 10 minutes later, the table next to us got their food. I'm not sure of the exact time, but we probably waited another 10 to 15 minutes for our food, despite the fact we ordered at the same time as the table next to us. Finally our food came, with no other visit from our server before then. Not even to assure us the food would be coming soon, despite the wait. The wife's omelet was fine, but my eggs on my skillet were extremely overcooked. I ordered them over medium, and they came out over hard. None of the yolks were runny at all. I pushed my plate aside, waiting for our server to return so i could tell her what was wrong. Almost 10 minutes passed before she came back and I could tell her that my eggs were overcooked. She apologized, and took my plate to be remade. 10, maybe 15 more minutes passed and still my second plate hadn't arrived. By now, my wife had finished her plate, and i hadn't even eaten. Once again, no return visit from the server with assurance or apology. The second plate comes, and the server walks away. My fork was taken with the first plate, and i was not given a new one. Sitting for a few minutes, my wife finally got up and walked over to another vacant table to grab me a new set of silverware. I cut into the new eggs and they were extremely undercooked this time. The whites were almost completely runny. By this time, we had been at the restaurant for almost an hour and i still had not eaten. To make things worse, our server never refilled our water, which remained empty for about 20 minutes. I told the server about the new eggs being undercooked and she took the plate away. We were already behind schedule to get back to Tucson, so i opted to take the check and cut my losses. The server delivered the check and said that my meal was comped. Frustrated at our whole experience, we walked to the front to pay. When asked how our meal was, we explained what happened. We were told that when my first plate got sent back, the server had to ask what over medium cooked eggs were. I'm sorry, but If you work in a predominantly breakfast restaurant, you should what it means when someone orders eggs over medium. The cashier at the front told us our entire meal would be taken care of because of what happened. My biggest problem with what happened, was the lack of communication and manager presence. The whole time we were there, i never once saw anyone who i thought was a manager. During our whole "meal," i think our server visited our table 3 or 4 times. Never once did a manager come over and talk to us. As someone who has managed many restaurants and worked in the industry for 20 years, communication can go a long way when something goes wrong. If they were to have just talked to me, it would have made things way better. I get that mistakes happen, but when responsibility isn't taken, it makes me, the paying customer, feel like i don't matter. read more

I love first watch's toast! I know that is the weirdest thing to love but it's thick and lightly toasted with butter smeared on top! They give you strawberry jam to go with it and it's just delightful! The avocado toast is also a really good serving size! They put a lot of avocado on top and has a fresh lemon taste! read more

So came the other day and the food was great! Came alone today and ordered biscuits and gravy (wonderful) 2 eggs over easy. Potatoes, sausage and sour dough toast! Potatoes were still too hard to cut with a fork or smash, the toast taste like someone left the bread bag open and it dried out because it was not truly toasted, the sausages we lukewarm in the middle but not cooked enough with a slight pint in the middle and if that wasn't bad one of my 2 eggs was over cooked to medium then when asked for an additional egg over easy again it took at least 5 mins and you guessed it over cooked again! In the picture there are 2 areas of yellow egg over cooked one pile is from the first egg and the second pile was from the 2nd egg! So many choices out there I should have picked the Hash Kitchen! read more

I came here for Sunday brunch with two of my friends this afternoon and we had such a wonderful experience. The line we encountered when we first walked in seemed a little daunting, but the hostess assured us that the wait would be less than 20 minutes. We wandered outside to wait for our table and we stumbled upon a small seating area outside in the shade. There was a fountain and flowers--it was the prefect place to wait. As soon as we were called back in, our bubbly, personable waitress greeted us and took our drink orders. I would highly recommend the iced tea, as it wasn't sweet but it had a bold taste. Next, week ordered our food. It came out within minutes, and it was oh so delicious! All three of us ordered the Elote Mexican Street Corn Hash off of the summer special menu (without chorizo). It was delicious! The corn was roasted to perfection and the creamy Cotija cheese was a great complement. The potatoes and and scallions in the base layer of the dish provided a savory aspect, while also making the dish significantly more filling. On an early morning house hunting Trip I had noticed first watch and knew it had a reputation of healthy fare. So we decided to check it out. Our service was solid, the waitress brought us a thermos of coffee which was unexpected but totally awesome. I ordered the breakfast tacos and the lady the chocolate chip pancake. Although I sort of wonder if they're using quail eggs because the two eggs she received with her gigantic pancake were small. What gets First Watch to the fourth star is our waitress, she was grinding the whole time. I would have to say the food, although delicious was only three star worthy. She had the chocolate chip pancake, right? Well, to her chagrin, although she loves blueberries, there were blueberries in the pancake. How do you do that. So really. Used to be a stable weekend breakfast go to but will no longer go there. If I can't order my dish there then my husband can't either so they lost both of us. My favorite dish which was lemon ricotta pancakes used to come with a delicious creamy lemon curd that was made on site was replaced with some disgusting out of can liquid sauce that tastes awful. Some chef or corporate executive thought it was a brilliant idea..I understand some costs had to be cut but it's the wrong cost when it compromises food quality.
