Partners and the biscuits and gravy (demolished) and a single carrot cake multigrain pancake (equally annihilated). And I had the chili. After 4 questions of the waitstaff, and a resignation that we were speaking different food languages, I ordered it. "Is it chili made fresh'. It's not chili, there are no beans' "What is it". "It's green chiles" Goin' nowhere with three more rounds, I accepted that he said 'a lot of people order it' What was it? An omelet. I contained green chilies, had some salsa, some excellent bread and sweetened jam. And it was a fine omelet. I didn't know I wanted eggs, but apparently I did, and I ate them, all and pleased. Decided to try a latte - definitely skip the latte and get it later from a coffee shop because it was far too sweet and poor flavor. I chose to go to First Watch this morning as i love Ricotta Pancakes and I have ordered in the past. It says the ricotta is mixed into the batter. Our waitress was very attentive and always was there when we asked for anything. I notice the ricotta was on the upper area in a circle from a squirt bottle when I removed the top pancake to take second one had the middle gone. I asked if they would send a new one. Our waitress was on this immediately. The manager tried to tell me it was served this way. I asked if she read the description as it says nothing other than mixed into the batter. It tastes different and the texture is very different. Just be aware of how it is served as there are two different pictures on the various websites of First Watch. One of my favorite places to visit when in the area. Always had a great experience...until today. We ordered a seasonal special - ginger spiced doughnuts. They were great except they weren't hot at all. They weren't even warm. Ok next, the entrees. I ordered a biscuit, smoked ham and potatoes. My potatoes came out a full 10 minutes before anything else at the table (I'm not kidding). It made no sense at all. There were 3 of us at the table and one plate of one person's food came out 10 minutes before anything else. My biscuit was a crumbled, cold mess. My ham was cold. It was just awful. My husbands food was ok and so was my sons. He ordered an almond, granola pancake and thought it was divine. Popular place in a Friday morning! We were seated immediately, and a carafe of fresh coffee arrived soon after. Server Antonio recommended the Biscuit and Turkey Sausage for my friend Rich, while I ordered the Tri-Fecta. Had I known how fluffy the multigrain pancake would be I'd have skipped the eggs and bacon. Frankly, I was expecting a grainy, chewy dense pancake. But the airiness was a wonderful surprise! We've had many wonderful breakfasts at our neighborhood First Watch on Camelback, so when we were searching for a lunch spot to take visitors, we thought we'd give it a try. Shazam! Fresh, tasty food plated pleasingly, comfortable seating (the upholstered chairs invited us to linger), and a fantastic server, Leslie, who was professional and friendly. Our guests enjoyed their Bloody Marys, and my husband and I chose from the Juice Bar. I am now obsessed with the Pineapple Express (which I think was a "special"). It was pineapple forward but also blended orange and I think lime for a delicious refresher. My husband was pleased with his turkey burger and his creative Morning Meditation juice, and the rest of us chose from the "2 For You" selections that allow for combining half portions of sandwiches, salads, and soups. My sister was in comfort food heaven with the ham and cheese panini paired with tomato basil soup, and my other sister was amazed by how fresh, colorful, and large the half salad was. No over-the-hill spring mix! Leslie suggested that I have the Monterey Club on toasted bread (yes, please -- good call), and when my cup of Italian Wedding soup (the daily special) came out looking suspiciously like tomato, Leslie whisked it away and returned with a full bowl of the correct soup. (It was definitely a kitchen glitch as Leslie had repeated back our order flawlessly.) No harm done. Four of us came in last Sunday and put our name on the list online before heading over. We only waited about 10 minutes for our table because we chose to sit at the "community table" and I'm glad we did! The people sitting next to us must have been famous because about 6 people including the old governor of AZ came up to them to say hello. First off - the bloody Mary's are excellent. I like mine spicy and their recipe is already spicy and I loved it. The menu has options for any preference, if you want to be healthy or indulge, and they cater to gluten intolerance/allergies. We ordered 2 traditional breakfasts, lemon ricotta pancakes, and the elevated breakfast sandwich. The bacon is perfect, not thin and not too thick. The breakfast potatoes are perfectly seasoned. I got the farmhouse hash and it was excellent. We also ordered the eggs Benedict and that was a hit. Sort of typical, but good! The juice we ordered was different but I loved it. I can't remember the name of it, but it had ginger, and it wasn't the one with a coconut water base. My toddler loved the food too. I've ordered from First Watch a few times and what I like about them is a big selections, fast and they are close by. What I don't like is the inconsistent quality of food. Sometimes all is great then there are days like today that are not so great. I got the hash scramble and today's theme is burnt. The potatoes were burnt; considering that the potatoes are the foundation of a hash that's a problem. My toast was burnt-ish; just one side. They weren't busy when I went in to pickup so I feel the person/s cooking today just doesn't care about the food. I give them only a 4 because my daughter felt her French toast was "just okay" and the speed of service was slower than usual. My power wrap was fantastic. Hubby and I stopped into the Biltmore location on a Saturday morning after a chiropractor appointment to grab a bite to eat. I couldn't decide whether I wanted the Chickichanga or the Farmhouse Hash -- our server suggested the Farmhouse; done! Hubby ordered the Traditional Breakfast with scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, and their delicious potatoes. It wasn't long before we received our deliciously-looking and smelling food, hot from the kitchen to our table. Absolute yumminess!!! (Hubby even took a bite before I snapped a pic to post, hehe). The Farmhouse Hash was extremely delicious and flavorful, made with fresh ingredients (you can truly taste the freshness). The only thing I would've changed with it was to take out the sun-dried tomatoes; I wasn't feeling them, and I felt like they were in abundance. But no biggie, I just ate around them. Hubby's traditional was delicious; just as we had expected. Since it was closer to brunch than breakfast, I also wanted something for dessert to satisfy my sweet-tooth so we ordered some Lemon Ricotta pancakes. Oh.Em.Gee!
