DONT EAT AT THIS LOCATION!!!!!!!!!The food and service at this location is TERRIBLE. I ordered from Uber Eats. The Turkey biscuits gravy, which is suppose to come with biscuits, gravy, eggs and potatoes. The gravy was missing, the biscuit has hair on it. I also ordered donuts, which was hard and burnt, as you can see in this picture. Lastly my orange juice didn't come with a straw, nor was it protected from the rain, it was all wet once I received it. So I called and asked to speak to a manager, Emma states that the managers are to busy to speak with me, she didn't tell me she was a Lead and she could help until I stated again I wanted to speak with my manager. So she apologizes and gives me options on what we could do about my order. So I told her I would come up there I didn't give a time. She said okay and apologized again. I called and spoke with someone who he claimed to be the manager, it was a guy who didn't state his name, we spoke around 1:24pm. I called so I could let him know I wouldn't be able to make it due to the rain, I wanted to see if I could bring it tomorrow. He wasn't pleasant and didn't seem like he was manager material. He states he was busy earlier helping out and Emma was the best fit, he also says " we had your food waiting for you so as soon as you arrived it would be hot." Emma and I never discussed a time when I would be coming, she initially told me to come tomorrow due to the rain. The manager apologizes. I also mentioned how my orange arrived wet, he says they have nothing to do with that that's Uber Eats drivers job to protect the food once it leaves. I was taken back because I was trying to give advice on what they could do better so people could order drinks and not have to worry about it getting wet. He says well I'm am going to disagree with you. As a manager you shouldn't go back in forth with a customer, that is horrible customer service. He then states I'm yelling at him, which I wasn't my tone was the same the whole time we talked, he just wanted a reason to hang up on me. So he told me they are not making my food, I asked him for his name 6 times before he hung up on me!!!!!!!!. The MANAGER needs to be demoted and retrained on how to better assist customers. This is what Delaware needs more of. I like everything about this place. The decor is welcoming, the food is delicious, and the service was top notch. This is clearly a tough area to keep any business open. It has seen a variety of stores and restaurants come and go since Borders bookstore left. This restaurant is really filling a need in our community by providing delicious food, offering healthy options, and catering to the less than optimal breakfast and brunch options in the area. Finally, someplace to go that doesn't offer only doughnuts or bagels. This is a great place to go for brunch. There are food options beyond traditional breakfast foods. Salads, sandwiches, soups, etc. are all available. It gets busy so plan ahead or be willing to wait especially with all of the new health regulations in place. Cook didn't know how to make simple egg order. I asked for 2 eggs omelette style. I got 2 fried eggs. When I explained to the server omelette style meant the eggs should be folded over she brought back 2 fried eggs folded over. I really want to give 2.5 stars. First, let me say that we had REALLY high hopes. We have visited FOUR times hoping that each time, they'd redeem themselves. The food is good. And my husband and I really really love breakfast and I'm a sucker for veggies with breakfast. A pretty plate is the best. The first time we visited, was two weeks after they opened. Our server was very attentive and clearly experienced (Af-Am woman, colorful hair. She's awesome). The food was delicious but it came out soooo slowly. We chalked it up to working out kinks. Went back the next week and same deal except the food came out even slower. Server didn't seem to be on the ball but okay. Everyone is new. Food was still really good. We waited a couple of weeks and tried again. Got theeeee worst service and our food took almost 45 minutes to come. 45 minutes for a frittata and pancakes is crazy. The frittata was freaking delicious but seriously, we were frustrated. My future DIL asked if we could go after church last Sunday so we did. Unbelievably, the speed from the kitchen is slower than its ever been. It took more than an hour for all of our entrees to come and two of our meals were ice cold and we had to ask for them to be heated. The server did check on us a few times but didn't really have an answer as to why everything was so slow. If I have to rate just food, it's the best fresh breakfast around. And we LOVE breakfast and when we go out, it's usually breakfast/ brunch. Unfortunately, the speed of service is maddeningly slow and I just can't figure it out. We want to love this place. Every time we come to First Watch the food is amazing and so is the service. The coffee is always fresh and their specialty drinks are tasty, my favorite is the Red Medicine. I had a breakfast sandwich and potatoes. The sandwich was fantastic with very fresh ingredients. The potatoes were good but nothing special, could've used more seasoning. One thing I really didn't care for was that they didn't make half and half readily available. Many people order coffee at a breakfast/brunch place and I imagine most prefer fresh cream, not those flavored creamers that can sit out at room temperature. Our server did bring half and half but in a foam cup which tells me this is something they don't normally do. I was at First Watch with a group of friends and we are all above the age of 15! When we got there there was a waiter who rudely called for us and even when she called us she called the wrong number of people and we walked in and she brought us to a table, she then asked us for our drinks and when my friend said something she looked at her like she was dumb and had her repeat something over and over. Ordering the food was fine and the food was great but as I mentioned she called the wrong number of people for how many we actually had and we asked for 1 more piece of silver wear because we were missing one and the waiter comes and slams 6 sliver wears on our table when we only asked for one so we ended up with 11 instead of six! After we finished eating and we were about to pay she comes over again and tells us that we need to get up and leave because she has another party of 5 coming that she needs our tables for and after decides to also tell us that we need to tip her accordingly and blames the fact that we are young but one of my friends was a full adult and the rest of us are 16-17 so there was no need for her to basically call us children! I just think as a waiter she should not have tried to kick us out of our table especially when we haven't even be able to pay yet but even when we did we gave her a reasonable tip so even though she was rude to us we still tipped her enough! read more
