Went here with my wife and my in-laws for brunch. It was a belated Father's Day meal, and we wanted to try something new. We joined the wait list on Yelp (do this on weekends, it gets busy and it beats waiting outside). We still had to wait for another 15 mins or so. The food was average at best. The seasoned potatoes were very good, but everything else was so-so I understand the place is fairly new, but the service is not up to par. It took us longer to wait to order our food and get it then it did for us to eat it. The small things.. not giving a straw with a drink, not enough napkins, etc. that's what counts. To start with the positive: food was outstanding and our server was great-super personable and efficient. The food & server saved this experience because prior to sitting down was not good: I was meeting friends from CO, who have been traveling across country. We specifically chose this restaurant because it was on their route to their next stop; there were 9 of us. 1. I went to do online check-in and the max # than can be booked was 6. I called the restaurant since there were 9 of us. The person who I spoke to told me to choose 6 & make notes in the comments that it was 9 people, so I did. The wait time noted was 45-60 minutes. 2. When I checked in at the restaurant, I again reiterated that we were 9 & not 6, and noted that if it helped from a logistics perspective (as I worked in a restaurant for 9+ years), we could split to 2 tables of 4 & 5, expecting that those tables would be near each other. The male at the check-in responded 'ok but your wait may be longer because of your party size'. I noted again that I realized the limitation on the website and did then call and speak to someone but that I also understood. 3. 1 hour & 15 minutes after I booked into the online waiting line (& 34 minutes after checking in at the restaurant), I received the text that our table was ready & to proceed to the host stand. We got there & I noted our text & we were the party of 9, and while the 3 staff were all the same as when I first checked in, there was clearly panic as they forgot we were a party of 9 & not 6. I pointed out the table right in front of them with 8 seats that could have a 9th at 1 end & was told it was not available because there was another party who'd been waiting longer than me. I again tried to note in an understanding tone that is was sorry for any confusion but I'd actually followed directions per their staff and had been told how to book the party and the same gentleman curtly said 'there's a reason there's a limit online' to which I replied 'that is why I tried to call to be added as our true group size and told you when I checked in-you've now sent me a text that our table is ready' and he snapped 'she made a mistake sending it'. 4. He then proceeded to note that I'd said we could split up. I agreed that I did with the expectation that the tables were near each other since we were 3 adults, 4 teens & 2 preteens. The best they could offer us was 2 booths across the restaurant from each other. Given the length we'd already waited and that my friends had another 2 hours to their destination, we took the tables (thanks fo the flexibility of my friends who had 4 of the 6 youth in our group) and the rest of the meal was great as noted, though I asked them to make sure the waitstaff of the 5 youngest members of the party understood the situation. This restaurant is convenient for people traveling the I-95 corridor and a number of sports teams given vicinity to athletics facilities and hotels. They need to build a better system for those types of groups if they want people to book with them and they need a process in place and personnel who can handle, when it doesn't fit their ideal 6 or less party. I will think twice before going on a peak time like Sunday with friends. read more

This place is pretty solid. The service was a bit slower than I would have liked and our waiter didn't check on us as much as he should - he forgot to bring some things and didn't stop by to ask how the food was/if we needed anything. We had to flag him down for the check. The BLT Benedict was a pretty solid Benedict although the eggs were cooked just ok - the bread was really tasty and I enjoyed the greens. The menu looks awesome though and I'm looking forward to returning to try some of the other stuff. The only other thing was the woman who sat us/also checked us out at the front of the restaurant was pretty unpleasant and not very welcoming. The inside decor is cute. read more

I was at First Watch with a group of friends and we are all above the age of 15! When we got there there was a waiter who rudely called for us and even when she called us she called the wrong number of people and we walked in and she brought us to a table, she then asked us for our drinks and when my friend said something she looked at her like she was dumb and had her repeat something over and over. Ordering the food was fine and the food was great but as I mentioned she called the wrong number of people for how many we actually had and we asked for 1 more piece of silver wear because we were missing one and the waiter comes and slams 6 sliver wears on our table when we only asked for one so we ended up with 11 instead of six! After we finished eating and we were about to pay she comes over again and tells us that we need to get up and leave because she has another party of 5 coming that she needs our tables for and after decides to also tell us that we need to tip her accordingly and blames the fact that we are young but one of my friends was a full adult and the rest of us are 16-17 so there was no need for her to basically call us children! I just think as a waiter she should not have tried to kick us out of our table especially when we haven't even be able to pay yet but even when we did we gave her a reasonable tip so even though she was rude to us we still tipped her enough! read more

My first visit and it was eh. Your waitress is like your first interaction with how things should go. Ours did not set a good standard. Didn't introduce herself. Didn't seem interested. Just hey what can I get you to drink. Got those. Then a "you ready to order?" We weren't so she just walked off. And stayed off for a while. So we just debated on asking for a new server who was invested in their job. After some stares she came back. Took our orders. Couldn't give recommendations, wasn't friendly, no smiles, nada. Ordered food & it comes. Potatoes are HEAVY on the salted side. Ruined our meals that none of us finished ‍. I think maybe I'll try one more time with a new waitress and ask for not so much salt on potatoes. I got the chorizo hash btw. If you want the freshest food, this is the spot for you. The pancakes were so light and fluffy and just the right amount of sweetness. The sausage was cooked to perfection, juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The sand which was huge and super delicious (Monterey club). An ok option for breakfast. They serve a lot of options outside of the normal pancakes and scrambled eggs. The fresh squeezed juice is AMAZING, but the food was just eh...my husband ordered eggs Benedict and it was room temp, like his dish was waiting awhile for my order to finish. I got the Mediterranean baked eggs. I had to add hot sauce for flavoring. It tasted just like stewed tomatoes and unseasoned chicken. The over-easy egg yolk saved it a bit. There were other items in the menu that sounded really good so I would give it another shot. They may have just had an off day. Oh....we asked for plastic cups for our water because the ones on the table were left there from the last guest that didn't use it. They were covered in some dirt and fingerprints. read more

I'm a fan of this place. I always get the eggs benedict as well as their kale green juice (it has another cool name that I can't remember) and it never disappoints. I've had the mixed berry fresh toast which was fantastic and would eat it often if I could. Calories are such a joy kill. Anyway, great spot for brunch. This review is a couple weeks old, because I've been busy and ALMOST forgot! My wife and I tried this spot on a whim for breakfast a couple weeks ago... WELL... What can I say? First of all, the place was very clean, and had very cool aesthetics! It has a "coffee shop" vibe. It looks like an upscale place, and you expect it to have "upscale" prices. But to our surprise, the prices are pretty reasonable. So then, you naturally expect the food or the service to be bad. The old, "If it seems too good to be true, it probably is" adage comes to mind. There MUST be something not right here... Right? But NO! The service is GREAT! THE FOOD IS GREAT! The portion sizes are GREAT! And the COFFEE!!! DELICIOUS!!! I do not give good reviews often, especially for breakfast food, but wow!!!! I have not one negative thing to say about this place. Everything from the service to the food was excellent. I can honestly say this is the best breakfast food I have ever had. I had the traditional breakfast (I think that is what it is called), 2 eggs, breakfast potatoes, and pork sausage, toast (which comes with really good jam and I never eat toast with jam!) and fruit. My boyfriend and I split chocolate chip pancakes and a pitcher of coffee. Everything tasted very good, cooked perfectly. Food only took 15 minutes from the time we ordered. Will definitely be returning soon! Also, although we both ate a lot in one sitting, neither of us felt like the food sat on us as normal diner breakfast foods do. This was not our 1st time at First Watch. But it was the WORST experience we've had anywhere recently. We got there and there was a wait. No problem. But the hostess took our name and said nothing else. So we backed into a corner while we waited. We stood there a good 10 minutes before the manager said we'd need to go outside. Just prior to that a couple came in that the hostess knew. They were not asked to go outside. After a little bit our son went in to see how much longer. He said the manager snapped at him. Really? I get you're busy but rudeness is not acceptable at all!!! When we were sat it was next to the couple the hostess knew. They were seated first?? They were at a table that we would've fit at. So there's that. It took like 10 minutes or so to get service too. Then as we sat (next to register) we heard a customer tell the manager (Ted) at checkout that their food took a long time. His response was a very rude "well we are busy. Really? Wow!! The longer we sat there the more people that came in. Ted let a good 20+ people stand there for quite a while before he told them to go outside. If he couldn't keep up with maybe have the hostess tell customers or post it somewhere. Then while we sat and waited for drink refills, he had our waitress bring takeout meals out. Really? Have separate runners for that!! For the cost of eating there, make it more enjoyable. Ted is just a rude, uncaring man. Obviously being busy is too much for him. read more
