I've been a fan of First Watch for a while, but this review stems from a particularly good experience I had recently while dining with a friend. Personally, I love restaurants that let you put together your own plate without making you feel bad about it, and this is one of them. Not quite feeling any of the heartier menu options, I ordered a plate of eggs, toast, and greens off of the sides menu and our waitress was so accommodating. Additionally, towards the end of our meal while we lingered and chatted a bit, the manager approached and asked if he could have our table to seat a larger party. We weren't pleased initially at being kicked out (in so many words), but he was very apologetic and also comp'd both of our meals to make up for the trouble. The main thing keeping this review from five stars: the coffee. The consistently horrible, bitter, burnt coffee that turns your stomach inside out; for a breakfast restaurant competing with the likes of Cafe Patachou across the street, that's a problem. Still, I'll be back! read more

This is a great breakfast/lunch restaurant. We have eaten here many times now and are never disappointed with any aspect. Service, cleanliness and food choices are all great! There is literally something for everyone on the menu and everything we have tried so far has been great! We must be going at the right time of day because we haven't had to wait yet and have been there at least 6 times in the last few months. read more

Prompt and friendly service. Great breakfast menu! The best part about First Watch is probably how unique and healthy their menu is. There are many great options for the health-conscious. Watch out for the post-church hours. This place goes from quiet to busy very quickly. read more

First time trying First Watch. Really enjoyed the meal and the price was better than some in the area. All the ingredients tasted fresh. Really good service. I knocked off a star because of the radio blasting. The speakers are right over the tables, and Gwen Stefani shouting holler back at 9 a.m. on a Sunday is too much with a full restaurant. read more

I love this place! The food is always fresh and there are a lot of healthy choices. I strongly encourage you to try the kale juice. It's so good and refreshing! It's mixed with fruit so don't let the fact that there's kale in it scare you. I have never had anything I didn't like, but the avocado toast is my favorite thing to order. read more

Clean, affordable and friendly. Open on Easter and reasonable prices. Ordered traditional breakfast. No surprises but was good.

I've had First Watch before in another state and had a very different experience this time. There was a really long wait but it was Mother's Day so that was completely understandable. When we got our seat the waitress was extremely friendly and personable and very sweet. My dish was great but my mom and sister had a few issues. My mom asked for syrup with her french toast and was brought some about 10 minutes later. This was a little bit of an issue because her food got cold while waiting. Then, my sister took a bite of her strawberry cheesecake french toast and pulled out a very long hair. We were all really grossed out. Now, the redeeming part of this is, I know this can happen at any restaurant and the waitress AND hostess were extremely accommodating and felt terrible. I was very impressed with how First Watch handled the situation and even took care of our bill. This is why I gave them such a high ranking. The food was still amazing and service was commendable. read more

First Watch - Strawberry French toast....incredibly delicious! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Indianapolis, Indiana

Just had very disappointing food and presentation for my "lunch treat" on my day off. Chicken Pesto Quinoa oversauced, and had to search to find the promised kale. Carrots were from a bag, and had that old flavor and the chicken was pre cooked, likely frozen given taste texture. No sides, crackers, anything but a plain bowl on the table That and a diet coke was nearly 12 dollars! Definitely won't go back. read more

Dropped in this morning to see what all the fuss was about. They surely delivered. I got the famed Chickichanga. While I probably should've gone with my original intention (a hash variation), this dish was excellent. My wife has the Belgian waffle with a blueberry sauce on the side which was excellent. We really enjoyed the coffee as well. Price was on point. Only complaint was slightly slow service. I noticed it more on behalf of two tables nearby than ourselves though there was a slight lag on our account as well, but but enough to bother me. Will definitely be back. read more

Guadalupe, hope I spelled her name right. She was a super sweet young server. And the food was just as good. Actually maybe better and that is a stretch. We eat here once a year after attending the Whiskey event at the Montage on the first Fri of Oct. Between this First Watch and Vine and Tables Whiskey Event I may have to move to Indy. Nah, love the Derby to much but Indy is my second favorite city. Anyway you can taste the love and care put into the food here. read more

I went here with my family because they didn't want to wait at Ruth's. For the price the food wasn't great. And the portions were small. We went at like 10 on a Sunday and it wasn't busy. There are other fantastic breakfast places in Indy I would go to before this in a heartbeat. read more

Great place. We came in on Mother's Day. It was slammed but they were awesome. Figured if it was this packed it was worth the wait. They set us up with a text notification (Freaking awesome. Love places that do that so you can explore around a little). Checked in on Nowait App to see how many people were in front of us. Got seated quicker than was told. Service was awesome. Food came out fast and was incredible. Probably the best brunch place we've had in quite awhile. The Parma Hash could use a third egg instead of just two but still was pretty great. Definitely will be coming back. read more

Excellent. The carrot cake pancake is like dessert. Might want to set aside time for a nap later

My favorite place to eat breakfast when in Indy. The food is great and the staff friendly. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu !

This is our favorite place to eat on Sunday mornings. We got here about 10:30 and we didn't have to wait long to be seated. The service is fast and friendly. The decor is bright and cheery. What we really love is the food! There are fresh healthy selections and traditional favorites. We have tried numerous things and have never been disappointed. They have seasonal offerings too. Today I had the vegged out omelet with dressed greens and my husband had the Ba ha turkey burger. We finished and left at 11:15 and the place was packed! They have complimentary coffee while you wait. If you're looking for good food, service, atmosphere and prices this is the place! read more

Yummy food, lots of options, many of which are healthy. Smallish portions, but very reasonable prices for the quality. Friendly service and nice, casual ambiance. We will definitely return if it's on our path. read more

Spending a couple days in town and this First Watch will not disappoint. Enjoyable place to grab breakfast.

On my honeymoon. Found this little gem driving through. Food-fresh and delicious. Service-friendly and fast. Menu-great mix of classic and eclectic with a great use of local produce. Even the restroom was immaculate. Cleaner than mine!! Every other breakfast for the rest of my honeymoon will have this place to live up to. Indianapolis is blessed to have it. read more

My husband and I are huge brunch fans and thought we know about all the good ones in Indy. We stopped in at First Watch on Sunday and we will definitely be back. We came by around 11 a.m. and surprisingly only waited 5 minutes or so to be seated. I had the avocado toast; it was fresh and delicious. My husband got the Key West Crepeggs. He was a big fan. We said First Watch is already giving our go-to brunch spot a run for its money. (Speaking of money... Compared to our other spot, it was also less expensive!!) read more

Well, we had higher hopes based on the reviews. It seems ran very inefficiently from the time you walk in the door. Fairly quick to be seated once we could figure out where the line was to be put on the list. However the hostess was irritated with customers and I heard her cuss under her breath at least 2 times about them. Seriously?!?! Our waitress was slower than molasses and we could barely hear her. It took forever to get our coffee and water when we were seated. We were holding out for the food to make up for this and sadly it did not. We both ordered the everything omelette. The egg was so thin and it barely had any cheese or meat. $27 for 2 omelette a and coffee was a little steep especially for what we got. We will go to LePeep or Cafe Patachou next time. read more

Outstanding breakfast. We had a party of six and the waitress was right on the top of everything we needed. The place was extremely busy and we did not have to wait at all on anything. Between the six of us we had a variety of pancakes, omelettes and waffles. The only disappointment was the potatoes everyone that got potatoes at the table thought they were bland. The mixed greens, which I had were delicious. If it wasn't for the potatoes I would give them a five star. Everything is reasonable priced considering it is at Keystone. I would definitely recommend us over Patachou. Unless you like spending a lot of money for a little bit of breakfast read more

First Watch is my go to spot for Breakfast. It is always warm inside with both temperature and friendliness of the staff. They have great healthy options, my fav being the avocado toast with eggs! I try to get here a few minutes before I'm meeting a friend to looks through the newspapers they always have out. read more

Always a great experience at this place. The staff is very friendly. The avocado toast and eggs are my go to brunch order.

I have been to this locale at least 5 times before. I have always found it to be a great place for interesting breakfast/brunchy fare. The first time was the hook, and though it's not cheap, I have returned. Yesterday's I relived my first time, but it was even better. I ordered, tasted, ate it slowly so it would last as it was simply the best dish I have ever had there: The Heirloom Tomatoes served on toast with a ball of burrata cheese (similar to buffalo mozzarella but wetter, creamier, died-gone-to-heaven luscious) with cooked to perfection wafted eggs. The dish is simple, a little dressing on the tomatoes on a most pillowy whole wheat oat thick toast on this planet! do they bake that bread there? I saw the woman in the next booth putting her two carby slices away from her plate. I was of a mind to ask her if I could have them! I also ordered the Millionaire's Bacon, four very crispy bacon slices submerged in black pepper, brown sugar, and maple syrup. We split that order. I can't wait to go back to get the Heirloom Tomatoes again! read more

Great breakfast and you can even take your coffee to go. Fresh food, reasonable prices, bright interior and friendly service; we'll be back.

First let me say that we have previously eaten at a First Watch (the Sand Lake location) while vacationing in Orlando. The experience there was awesome - great food properly prepared, excellent service, and a truly enjoyable time. So we were naturally excited to discover that First Watch had come to Indy and looked forward to repeating our experience. Unfortunately our breakfast experience at the 86th Street location was a major disappointment. The coffee had a great aroma, but was bitter to the taste. The food was mediocre at best, and certainly did not live up to our expectations after our meal in Orlando. To be specific, the English muffins were tough and chewy; the potatoes dry and bland and the Works Omelet was anything but, and haphazardly prepared to boot. The Key West crepe had what appeared to be tiny cubes of ham, but there were so few pieces and so little taste, it should have been called an avocado crepe since there were huge chunks of avocado thrown on the eggs and that was the only flavor detected. This place could be so much more. Hopefully someone from corporate will check this location out and fix the problems. Until that happens, eat somewhere else. The service was acceptable. read more

My wife and I love coming here! First Watch has the best healthy choices for breakfast. I'm not a fan of the juices, but the menu items are delicious! I always get the breakfast tacos read more

Their menu is always great and I even got something ordered for my 'dinner time' at work' tonight

I wanted to love this place. We went for breakfast with our two kids. We were seated right away on a Sunday at 9a. We sat for 10 minutes with no service. Finally tacked someone down to take our order. Then another 10 minutes passed and we asked someone else to check on our coffee. The originally waitress finally came back. Then I asked for no eggs on my skillet. She said she could add avacado. The breakfast was good/average but my husband got eggs and he had the same amount of avacado as me. I didn't say anything and just ate my breakfast. Bill came. They charged an extra $4 for the avacado. Waitress said we were charged for the extra avacado. One, their was no extra avacado. Two, who would pay $4 for a slice of avacado. That's almost half the cost of the breakfast. We won't be back. Their are to many good breakfast options out there. Management needs to train their staff better. Atmosphere is cute. read more

Ariel is the best server ever period , great food and friendly people

I have been to first watch in Audubon twice, once when it first opened and again yesterday. The first time I went with my husband and the service was extremely slow and the food was mediocre. We assumed it was probably because the restaurant had just opened. I had been to the first watch in Newtown Square and found the food and service to be really good. So I was excited to see one open up closer to me. My husband has been to the one in Wayne and has found that the food there is good as well. So my assumption is it just must be the Audubon location that seems to lack the type of service that this restaurant is known for. Yesterday I went to lunch with my daughter. She's a vegetarian and order the chicken and avocado salad without the chicken and dressing on the side. It took a very long time for our order to come especially since they were not that busy. When my daughter's salad came it had chicken in it and to top things off the server spilled the dressing on my daughter. She gathered napkins for my daughter to clean her self apologized and then we told her that the salad was ordered without chicken since my daughter is a vegetarian. It took quite a while for a fresh salad to be brought out to her and when It came out there was no avocado in it. You would think a salad called chicken and avocado salad the kitchen would at least remember one of the primary ingredients. When mentioned to the server she went to the kitchen to get us the avocado. When the avocado came on a serving dish it was hard as a rock and could not be eaten. When we received the check it was for the full amount owed, there was no apology for the multiple mixups and lengthy wait. As a matter of fact we rarely saw our actual waitress. I would expect something different from a restaurant that is supposed to be so good at what they do. I think this is my last time going to this restaurant. read more

I've been here a total of three times now- and I live forty five minutes away. I'm afraid to go anywhere else in the area in case it doesn't live up to this place. The food not only tastes excellent, it's also fresh and healthy. The service is fantastic, with the food arriving quickly. The price are fairly average for a sit down place. Definitely recommended. read more

We had 21 people scattered throughout 3 tables and they seated us quickly, fed us quickly and arranged the checks accordingly. Food was fresh, delicious and affordable. Lastly, we threw a cake at them and asked them to cut it for 21 people. They did it all promptly and with a smile. Highly recommend this place. read more

Best diner spot if you're looking for traditional fare with a few "trendy" options. Not too expensive if you stick to the basics. Even specials and seasonal items are right at $10. Usually no longer than a 5-10 minute wait at the busiest. I recommend it. read more
