I love every First Watch I've visited; each one feels like a perfect little diner with quick service, great eggs-over-easy, and a friendly smile from the cashier. This one's no exception, but I really don't like the layout of the dining room, with that big open archway into the kitchen with its racks of food-service cans and the cooks bustling about. It's just ugly. Other than that, though, this is the usual First Watch magic, uber-quick service and great food at a reasonable price. I got an unexpected extra slice of sausage on my Bubba's Benny, which made me ridiculously happy for the rest of the morning. Simple pleasures, I suppose. read more

Big time fan of First Watch. I always get the Traditional. The food does not make me feel bloated when I leave. It is not regular heavy or fried foods loaded with heavy foods. I love how they leave the coffee pot on my table. I obviously don't like it much since I only eat there 3 times a week. read more

Whats not to love about first watch? Coffee, great! Breakfast, fantastic! Lunch, incredible! I went in for a late lunch the other day and instead of being upset the staff was so nice and helpful! I got the Grilled Turkey sandwich, let me tell you it was AMAZING! I intended to go in and eat breakfast food like I normally do, but I decided it was time to be a big kid and try out other foods. I was completely impressed! read more

This place has never once done me wrong. As a person that also works in the service industry I expect a certain type of quality in sevice and food as well as team work. They have it all . They even remember your darn name ! It's been a little bit since I've been back with no fault of their own. But I imagine they still would remember my face when I walk in. You all have started my day so many time's with grace and humor . For that I thank you. read more

Bottom Line Up Front: Food is good/decent. Not as healthy as it tries to portray itself. Came here after running the Stars and Stripes 5K. It was very crowded, probably because its July 4th. The restaurant is clean with classic decor. Looks like a more "homie" IHOP or Dennys. First impression of this place is that the food will be super healthy. After looking at the menu and seeing the actual dish as they came out, not so much. Maybe one or two items on the menu were actually healthy. Everything else was full of carbs, unnecessary fats, and not very much protein. I ordered the BLT Benedict which was apart of their summer specials. The dish consisted of two poached eggs over tomatoes and bacon on a ciabatta with avocado on the side. It was topped with spinach and a drizzle of hollandaise, which I guess makes it a bit more healthy... doesn't matter since its bacon and I wasn't really worried about staying healthy, I mean its 4th of July... live alittle for America! Some of the other dishes my table ordered were filled with carbs and dairy based ingredients. All in all, the food was good/decent. But, their selling point is a joke. So, if you want to steer away from the likes of Dennys or IHOP, try this place. But, there are plenty of other breakfast/lunch places to try throughout KC that are way better than this place. read more

This place is great. I went here with my family, and the 6 of us all had different things for breakfast. I loved the chickenchanga they had and my wife had a hashbrown skillet plate that was really good to. Would defenitely go here again. read more

Some different menu choices including a large selection of healthy choices. I opted however for for a Cajon omelet with home fries.

We have eaten at this restaurant multiple times. Food is always well prepared and service is very professional and friendly. You can eat healthy here or you can have awesome pancakes and slab bacon. One of our favorite Independence locations. read more

Although the food wasn't bad, it is crazy that this place is marketed as a "Healthy Choice". I couldn't get a lunch without MSG that was also gluten-free and dairy-free. Everything for lunch seemed to have cheese and it's just a false sense of what real food and healthy eating is about. Too many carbs, too much dairy, and nothing organic. And really? MSG and nitrates? Seems strange. read more

Really enjoyed eating here had the power wrap and it was very good. Husband had the raisin French toast and said it was very nice. Wish we this restaurant in Bakersfield Ca where we live so I could eat here again. read more

So not 100% sure about food but definitely not going here. My little sister had her card scammed by an employee which is the first thing wrong. Multiple charges between Friday and Tuesday when fraud alert locked my sister's card and alerted her to what was going on. My sister being young, she asks my mom for help which results in my mom having to talk to a manager who was defensive until blatant facts were put in front of her, to which she still tried to argue by not as intensely. Some of the charges on my sisters card were from there on days she did not visit this place and my mom asked about reversing the charges to which management declined and said we had to sort it out with the bank. Long story short, they stole hundreds of dollars (no lie. One charge alone was $100, plus many others) and management refused to look into it and right the wrongs done. In my opinion, if you protect thieves and bad do-ers, that must be who you are as a person, especially if you keep them around when the facts are in front of you. Would not recommend simply because employees cannot be trusted. I don't care if you have delicious beignets or not, it's not worth the hassle of being stolen from. read more

Consistent, high quality food served by incredibly friendly folks! Be sure to check out the seasonal menu which feature the tastes of the season (request whipped cream for your pumpkin pancakes during the autumn!). It's nearly impossible to go wrong with whatever you order and the staff is happy to modify menu items to meet your tastes and/or dietary restraints. While any of the staff is exceptional, ask for Rudy or Amanda. read more

Fresh food, healthy options, proper portions, friendly staff. A breath of fresh air against routine breakfast and brunch fare.

I do not care for the open concept for the First Watch restaurants. They make it difficult to have conversation. The food is always good. This location has too much competition with noise in their design, close proximity of tables, and next door to a boxing gym. read more

Awesome service every time, great healthy food options. We love this place, specials are always delicious, coffee is so good. Breakfast or lunch yummy read more

Love this place best healthy food around good service and there juice drinks are fantastic!

I went to eat at this location and got food poisoning! I believe the eggs were bad but I had a sinus infection at the time so I couldn't smell. read more

Well, I came in about 30 minutes ago. No one greeted me, when I got here, so I grabbed a table myself to help out. Since then they've seated probably ten people after me. This feels like I'm being ignored, but I have a wallet filled with money & a large appetite. If they decide to serve me, I will change my opinion about the awful service. They never served me. I told them I left a review on Yelp about how rude they were. read more

Have never had anything here that I didn't LOVE. Plate sized pancakes, omelets, warm gooey sandwiches and amazing tomato basil soup. How can you choose?! Favorite is the trifecta, with waffle over medium eggs and turkey sausage read more

Excellent food! Healthy choices! You can't go wrong!

Solid 4 stars. Food Is good and flavorful but nothing to write home about. The healthy appeal they are trying to have Is great. My grapefruit juice tasted very fresh. Would come again. :) read more

Stopped in for brunch with a friend. This was my first visit here and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The menu was just a little difficult to read but the food was worth the effort to figure it out. Family friendly but a little difficult to find unless you know where it is. The food presented well, coffee nice and hot, and everything seemed fresh and flavorful. Prices are reasonable for what you get. Would have given 5 stars if it weren't for location and somewhat difficult to read menu. Other than that, highly recommend. Btw, they also have a gluten-free menu which is a BIG PLUS!! read more

Great food. Great service. My wife and I go here all the time and we absolutely love this place. Try the Bubba's Benny!!

First Watch never disappoints! The servers know my family by name. The food is great. Plus, I can get on the list for a table before I even leave the house. read more

Nice place, not overly crowded. The food is good and I would rather come here than go to the nasty iHOP up the street. Not much else to say. read more

Cute atmosphere. Different for the area. Food and fresh juice were delicious. I had the Elevated Egg sandwich and the ginger root juice. We didn't have any issues and everything tasted fresh. We will be back. It's great to have a place with healthy and alternative choices. read more

Second visit in about 3 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed both visits. Large crowd especially today, New Years day, about 20minute wait today but very organized and moves quick. Staff is very friendly and efficient although busy very organized and the same goes for kitchen. As a semi retired chef from New Orleans I was very impressed watching the kitchen in action, they have an open kitchen and are very visible, even with a full room and line waiting no confusion on the line everyone is doing his job quietly and efficiently and food , nicely presented, is quick to come out. Nice size menu with many healthy choices, coffee is good and strong and pot is put on table so u can refill when you want. The two meals I had were BLT Benedict, it came with beautiful side salad of mixed greens, and the Acapulco Express omelet with Chorizo sausage, green chilies, avocado, 2 cheeses, onion and salsa on side and includes English muffin and potatoes, both dishes were excellent and the skillet hashes also look good . Lunch/brunch style options also available but haven't tried those yet but plan to return many more times. read more

Recently ate here for the first time. I was with two lady friends. The service was superb and they were very patient with us spending a long time gabbing over coffee. We ate the Belgian Waffle with fruit compote and syrup with a side of bacon. Everything was delicious and they kept a carafe of hot coffee full the entire time. Definitely recommend it ! We will be going back. read more

Very nice quiet place for a weekday breakfast. Good service. I enjoyed the turkey sauce and biscuits and gravy. Good change from the usual.

Love love love this place! The employees are amazing people and the food is top notch!

My family and I ate brunch here on our way to Branson. It was perfect. We could get on the wait list as we drove there, and the food was fresh and healthy. I loved the smooth finish of the coffee (reminded me of when I was in Central America), my daughter was impressed with the waffles, and they gave us to-go cups for our drinks. I had a homemade chocolate chip muffin with my omelet that tasted like they used organic flour to make it. No complaints. read more

Worst service ever!! Sat on hold for 10 mins for a To-go order, to still not have someone come back on the line. Then upon arrival waited another 20 mins for my meal. Please hire more employees and ones that actually care!!!!!!! read more

Great fresh food. Come often for breakfast. Great Buford location, right on hwy 20. The bowls are great.

Their food is very good but the service is very slow so make sure you have time to spend here. Thought it was because they were a new store but 6 months after they opened, same slow service! read more

I love First Watch! A local chain that offers great food for everyone. If you are health conscious and want a great juice and a light meal you can get just what you want. You can also get a hearty omelette or a sweet stack of French toast! The place is clean and energizing. Slightly expensive for breakfast, but you'll never regret your meal! It also gives you the nutritional info, so if you want to count calories and know what you're eating, it's a great option! read more

Good but I hate how they force healthy choices on you. I'm sorry, but I like a hearty breakfast. And turkey sausage and turkey bacon aren't real. The fact that they make biscuits and gravy with turkey sausage is blasphemy. They're always nice tho. A bit pricey. Not making a special trip there, but I'd meet someone for breakfast if I had to. read more

Love, love, love this place! Food is unique and very flavorful. Staff is exceptionally nice and attentive. My mother-in-law ordered Eggs Benedict with salmon that was slightly delayed (maybe 3 minutes) because they changed the water out and it wasn't hot enough yet. We had 3 different people - the director of operations for the KC region, the manager, and our server - stop by to make sure her eggs were good and to apologize for wait. Then they took her meal off our check. Definitely not necessary but appreciated. Highly recommend. read more
