My fiancé and I went on a breakfast date to Shack Breakfast & Lunch and had a really good experience! We got there around 9am and were seated right away with no wait, but by the time we were leaving there was definitely a line forming. The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly. I especially appreciated that they offer gluten-free options, which can be hard to find at breakfast places. The drinks were definitely a highlight--strong (in a good way) and well-made, which is always a plus! The atmosphere was fun and welcoming, and the service was friendly throughout our visit. We live about 30 min away and put our name on the waitlist before we left the house. We only had a little bit of wait left when arrived which isn't bad for a Sunday afternoon. I love the vibe of the place with the crystal chandeliers and the writing on the walls. Emily was a fantastic server. She waited patiently while we looked over the vast menu. I ended up choosing the corned beef n' hash and it was honestly the best breakfast I've eaten in a long time and the best corned beef ever. Service both times have been extraordinary very attentive wait staff. The food has been extremely good. Had breakfast both times and was not disappointed. My only critique is that the eggs could use a bit of salt but that's easily added at the table. The chicken and waffles were hot and sweet just as described. Would not order a side of bacon. Such a fun vibe! We had a short wait on a Sunday morning (15-20 mins after arriving). Service was fast and friendly. I had the Notorious BNG and asked for crispy bacon. By the time we left, they had a sidewalk full of folks waiting! The service was pretty quick (they don't make a lot of convo at the table: they've got orders to put in!). And the food portions are... positively gargantuan. At our table, the Toot Toot was probably the most reasonable dish (fruit and waffle). The blueberry lemon curd pancake (order of 1) is the size of a UFO! The chicken and waffle was good with 2 eggs and super crispy hash browns. I have no idea how Brian finished it... "Why the French Hate Us" is a croissant egg sandwich smothered in peppery sausage gravy (it's extreme). My breakfast burrito was so big that HALF of it put me into a food coma, but it was also delicious! Steak, bacon, scrambled eggs, the fabulous crispy hash browns, queso, 2 kinds of salsa, and supposedly crushed Doritos on top (I didn't see them amongst the rest of the toppings). We decided to come here for brunch. We had never been and oddly, this was the first this place popped up when I searched for brunch places. We added our name to the waiting list and was told we had about a 20-30 minute wait. We were 15 minutes away. Thebemail that our table was ready came about 5 minutes after I added our name. We were still driving. When we got there, we were told that we had to wait again because our table had been giving away. OK fine. We waited about 15 minutes and then saw people being seated that came in after us. So I inquired and was told that we were sent a text again. I never got a text. Then found out that others that were waiting never got a text either. We were then seated. Our waitstaff was nice. It was a 4.7 day(wink). I ordered the County f Fried Steak with over medium eggs. I feel like a lot people don't know what over medium means. The yolk is cooked a little and is also a little runny. It was all runny like over easy eggs. This happens at a lot of places. Hubs had the Make a Grown Man Cry burrito. It did not in fact make him cry. He said it was okay. He thought it would be bigger and more flavorful (insert that's what she said joke). The teen had a grilled cheese and fries. Yep, grilled cheese. The baby had over hard eggs and chicken sausage. She liked hers and ate all she could which was minimal because she's a baby. Hubs and I both ordered Belgium Waffles. They were super oily and tasted oily. Oily like when someone makes pancakes in a skillet with oil to get crispy edges. It tasted so oily that I couldn't eat more than 2 bites. Overall, the food was fresh but that Waffle needs some help. I recommend looking into the wait list system. You could tell our server really cared about celiac disease as one of our party was at home awaiting us to bring her something. and he wasn't afraid to tell us that the kitchen messed up and have them do it over again!. My son loved the huevos rancheros; wife enjoyed an egg white omelet; I got the stuffed croissant. All the ingredients (sausage, country gravy, cheese) were delicious but the croissant got so soggy next time I will just get a skillet with a croissant on the side if desired. I was so excited to finally try this LS location! I have seen this space be many other franchises, but they did a great job giving it the Shack look. Food: I have tried many of their breakfast items, so I decided to go for a lunch item. It did not disappoint! I had the Mother Clucker Wrap which contained fried chicken, pepper jack cheese, spring mix, spicy slaw, bacon , and chipotle mayo. I personally love anything with chipotle mayo and the bacon pieces with the fried chicken really made it such a great wrap! I also got a side a sweet potato tots which were delicious! They were $1 up charge, but I couldn't figure out why especially with the amount they gave. My friend had the quesadilla and she loved every bite. She wanted just a side or a la carte French toast , but that wasn't an option here. So, we just ordered the full meal and split that. Service: Our server was nice and attentive. This is a two-part, so the family brought me here for father's day 6/20. I in turn brought the family here on 6/27 as a thank you for an early morning trail walk reward. The wait at Shack is ridiculous, you definitely need to use the get in line feature on Yelp ( which we did both times) It will reduce your stress. With the app it was still a wait, 6/27 at least 1 hr from check-in per-app initial requested hostess check-in until food on the table. The atmosphere and staff are great, meals unique, the seating for parties above 4 are awkward and crammed ( seating 5 at a 4 top table with a seat in the isle is not ideal) especially because the table can not hold all the plates easily. Now the food, I ordered French toast (both visits) I DONT NORMALLY EAT HASH BROWNS, BUT WHEN I DO. 2nd visit Go make yourself a dang quesadilla (1st Visit) & housemade biscuit n gravy (2nd) Visit Hash browns 9/10 small portions but great flavor & texture French toast 10/10 1st visit 6/10 2nd visit. ( Soggy bread on that 2nd visit) Biscuits & Gravy 6/10 not a lot of flavors however the biscuit was good. Quesadilla 5/10 - lacking flavor despite having chorizo in it and it was not crisp at all, like a soft taco with griddle lines that didn't stay on long enough The pancakes are huge, my kids enjoyed that and the atmosphere as a whole. Not only that but the prices are extremely reasonable and the staff is always very friendly! Patio seating is available and you can always just grab a seat at the bar. Finding both at that time of the morning is challenging On our first visit I tried the Chicken Fried Steak breakfast and my hubby got The Kitchen Sink (a skillet breakfast with all the meats, peppers, mushrooms, and cheddar cheese. He added gravy to make it perfect). We both loved it. Today a couple of my friends and I got together and decided to head to Shack for a breakfast/lunch option. This wasn't my first time there but it was for my friends. One friend order the small order of biscuit and gravy. It was a nice size for the price and had plenty of gravy. My other friend got the 'merica French toast. It came out with nice thick pieces of French toast, berries and whipped cream. It looked like heaven in a plate. I picked the country fried steak, eggs over medium and hasbrowns. The steak was good, not very thick so it was a little tough but the sausage gravy was very flavorful and a great complement. The eggs were cooked perfectly and while the hash browns were crispier then I like, most people would have loved them. Their coffee was decent, not a standout but good with breakfast. read more
