It did get the job done and I thought that having the tent attached to the house was a great touch.

It was our very first visit to the New Theatre & Restaurant, and we attended a December 2025…read moreevening performance of Nobody's Perfect starring the talented Jim O'Heir. He was so gracious after the show, chatting with everyone who stopped by the backstage door. We felt lucky to say hello and even snap a photo with him! The evening begins with garlic bread and salad, followed by a trip to the buffet line. There's a variety of proteins, including steak, pork, fried fish, and fried chicken, along with sides like vegetables, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese. I wouldn't say the food is the highlight, but the overall experience and the venue itself are fantastic. Drinks and desserts (served during intermission) cost extra, though they're very reasonably priced. The audience tends to be older folks. I feel like like this is a hidden gem in Kansas City. It would be great to see them bring in some younger actors and actresses for added publicity so more people can discover what a special place this is.

I was told that we would have lunch buffet style before the actual performance began, however the buffet was 90 minutes before the performance so make sure to get there early. There were several coach buses that transported senior guests to the event. Upon entering the theater, we were directed to our assigned table, which had a great view of the stage. The way the theater was laid out, any table would have a great seat to watch. Off to the buffet lines, despite there were 3 separate lines, it was moving slow due to the elderly guests taking their time. But once the lines were clear, it was east to come back for seconds. At the beginning of the line was a display case of all their huge dessert offerings, that you pick one as part of meal that would be served during intermission. The buffet had a variety of cuisines such as Asian, Italian, and American. Their beef stroganoff was delicious! Once we settled back at our table, our server took our drink and dessert order. Overall, the venue was well organized and clean. The Theater & Restaurant concept was amazing! It's so convenient that there is no need to go to 2 different places for dining and entertainment. Definitely a great place to have wonderful time! Highly Recommend if ever in Overland Park!

The theater itself was just okay. The chairs weren't very comfortable and didn't recline, which was a bit disappointing compared to newer theaters. On the plus side, the popcorn and soda were good, and the movie played without any technical issues. The biggest downside was the bathroom--it was in rough shape, with non-working hand dryers, stall doors that didn't lock, and overall cleanliness issues. It's an okay place to watch a movie, but it's no longer the impressive, upscale location I once remember it being.

Got there a little after 25 mins from movie start as we know previews are truly too long. Got to order in the lounge area on my side , drink and chicken fingers/fries please. My food was delivered to my seat but the bartender handed me my drink right after I placed my order. Movie... already started.. didn't miss much and it wasn't crowded in the suite. Comfy reclining chair and tray with an assistant butt, which by the way didn't work for me. Anywho.. I loved the movie experience however I had to get a refund on the food... I can't eat overcooked entrees.

I attended a holiday pop-up event here this weekend. I had not visited Belvoir before, but I was…read morevery familiar with the property. My last visit came in 1972 when the property was used as a nursing home by The Odd Fellows fraternal organization, where my grandmother spent the last few years of her life. Prior to that it was an orphanage and for a short time a school - which my older siblings attended in the late 1950's. The winery has done a great job of preserving the history of the main building - one of four structures on the campus. Walking up the old wooden staircase to the second floor brought back instant memories of taking that same staircase to visit a woman that lived there. The nurses told us she claimed to be a relative of Frank and Jesse James, so 8 year old me convinced my mom for us to go visit her. I still recall her small and frail bedridden body holding my hand and thanking me for visiting her. My paternal grandmother lived in the adjacent building. It still sits vacant and deteriorating after decades of abandonment. It is the newest of the 4 structures on the campus having been built in 1955. Her solitary room was first floor left front of the building. I remember walking in and always talking to the nurses and aides at the station at the door. I remember taking presents of clothes and food on Sundays and holidays or just returning her laundry. I remember helping to decorate the room for the holidays. I remember the metal hand bell she used to summon assistance. I remember the beautiful large tree on the circle drive near her building that still stands today. The interior is vandalized and graffitied with no trespassing signs in place, and the windows she spent hours looking out of are now broken, blocked by rogue shrubs and a rusted and collapsing awning. The last time I peered in this window was sometime in 1972 to wave to her as we exited and let her know we'd be back soon. I highly encourage anyone to visit and support this winery and Inn. Check out the sitting rooms, look at the artifacts, documents and photos. Visit "George' the resident skeleton in his glass tomb... and if you listen carefully you might just hear my grandmother's small brass handbell.

We ordered popcorn for intermission over an hour prior to the start of the show, knowing that it isn't delivered until intermission. They waited until the second act was beginning to tell us they "didn't make enough" and we wouldn't be getting any. They gave us nachos and promised to comp one of the 3 orders, then charged me for it anyway. The nachos were cold and soggy when they arrived about 3 minutes left in intermission. I gave my credit card in good faith when the check was dropped early in the intermission, then had the wrong amount charged to my credit card (over double my actual total) and someone else's credit card presented to me not once but twice. It took 10-15 minutes for the mess to be sorted between the manager and server and the server spent most of that chatting and laughing with what appeared other table involved. The manager also blew off my concerns about their disorganized service and lack of communication regarding availability of the menu. My party and I were not high maintenance, or demanding. There was no obvious reason for the chaos, besides a clear lack of organization and no managerial care for customer experience.

I had a 74 year old mom who's on a cane for over 30 minutes waiting outside the wrong address. Went inside found sound guy, he said and pointed to a lady coming up. The aisle was in charge. I told her the situation and she told me oh well that's their fault, no apology nothing just a oh well and I described where it's at she said SIR, I know where it's at my office is in there. Then, she turned around and left very amazingly rude. If ANYONE speaks to this lady, tell her a COUNTED 28 people outside the wrong address, means there's a problem, and a HUGE poster on the door of the WRONG PLACE doesn't solve it. ANYONE, with common sense, would've put the RIGHT ADDRESS on that poster on door so people don't think it's there at the wrong place and have to deal with the INCREDIBLY RUDE LADY that all she had to do was say its obviously a issue that i will look into it. The show says it's in RUBY THEATRE - WRONG THEATRE AND WRONG ADDRESS. BUT AMAZING SOUND OF MUSIC SHOW! I NEVER have been there, BUT I've heard other people saying they did the same thing in the past. Can someone ABOVE the rude lady look into the issue? She made it clear she doesn't care a tiny bit.

There are plenty of cities the size of St. Joseph that don't have buildings this nice nor do they support performance art the way that the residents of St. Joseph apparently do. This theatre really is something to be proud about. Plus, the theatre has lots of free parking nearby as well as is walking distance to a number of restaurants! My only complaint is that Saturday's show was shown to have no center orchestra tickets available, however the entire second row was empty. I have no idea what that was about.

Marriott Kansas City Overland Park review | Kansas…read more 10800 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210 2.5 out of 5 Stars "A stay that started strong... then flushed itself away--literally." If you're looking for a hotel that nails the basics--clean spaces, friendly staff, a comfy bed, and a location that puts you close to food, highways, and life itself--then the Marriott Kansas City Overland Park seems like a solid pick. Emphasis on seems. Because while the building had its charms, my experience took a very unexpected turn in a direction no guest wants to go. Let's start with the good news: The place is clean. The staff? Pleasant, helpful, and ready with smiles. There's a full restaurant and bar on site--huge win if you're hungry or just too tired to DoorDash your life away. Starbucks coffee right in the building? Absolutely. Fitness room? Surprisingly spacious. Complimentary snacks for top-tier guests? Yes, please. And the bed? Soft enough to make you consider hitting snooze at least three times. But... then there were the cons, and these weren't small. The trip went downhill the moment I discovered the toilet didn't work in my room. And here's the part that should win an award for "Most Unexpected Plot Twist in a Hotel Stay": they knew the toilet was broken before giving me the room. That's like handing someone a chocolate chip cookie but forgetting to mention the chips are raisins. Instead of fixing the issue, the solution was to move me to another room--because nothing says "relaxing hotel stay" like repacking all your stuff and relocating after you've already settled in. Huge inconvenience. Major vibe killer. And as if that wasn't enough, the suite felt noticeably smaller than other Marriotts--like the hotel version of "we have food at home." To top it off, for the price tag attached, you'd expect everything to work flawlessly--especially the plumbing. So yes, the stay delivered on cleanliness and comfort... but it also delivered a storyline I wasn't ready for. Final Verdict: This hotel has potential, but between the price point and the toilet troubles, it lands at a very middle-of-the-road 2.5 out of 5 stars. Still workable, but definitely not the Marriott magic you might be expecting. @we_stayed_there www.westayedthere.com
