If you're looking for a place to get some work done while your kiddos stay busy, look no further than this place. My Play Cafe almost seems like a little micro community of parents who want to hang out and have some coffee/boba/snacks while allowing their kids to run around & play in a clean, safe environment. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Looking forward to being back here my next trip out!

What an answer to prayer! With 2 small children who move at 2 completely different speeds, it's been difficult to find activities that can keep both of them happy and entertained... then came My Play Cafe! My Play Cafe is conveniently located off of 3rd Street in Lee's Summit, across from the QuikTrip. Not only do my 2 babies get a safe place to play, but this exhausted mommy also gets fresh Messenger coffee! A play place with a coffee shop?! A dream come true. We've recently made a group of mom friends and we use My Play Cafe as one of our weekly meet up spots. My 2 year old LOVES going to the "special muffin place" and won't play until she's devoured a jumbo blueberry muffin. My 8 month old enjoys the padded baby area where he can practice his crawling. They also host cute themed events (we recently went to a Mommy and Me Brunch) and they continually support local businesses and are active on social media. Absolutely a 5 star experience.

We LOVED this place. We visited here on our road trip across the US with our kids and all I can say is I wish that these existed in every city across the US. This is a goldmine business model because parents can relax and enjoy coffee while socializing. The kids have lots of imaginative, open ended toys. We enjoyed the food, drinks, staff, the people we met and even the fun socks we got when visiting.

This is a great place for both adults and children! You can come in for the cafe only or you can bring your kid to play while you hang out and drink some coffee. They offer different types of coffee, tea/boba tea, snacks, vegan pastries, etc. The owner Tiffany is super nice, she remembers your name, and is very helpful with any questions you might have. They have a play area just for 18 months & under where everything is soft and safe for the smaller babies. There's a larger open area with a slide, cars, different hands on toys, which I think is great because it gives them a break from technology. Everything is very clean and sanitized often, even during these times I felt very comfortable bringing my baby here to play. The play time is 2 hours and it's $10 for children over 1 and free for infants and parents. I thought my son would play for maybe an hour, but he played almost the whole time and had so much fun with all of the different toys. If you decide to come more often, they offer memberships for $40. They also have different classes throughout the week and host birthday parties. If you're in the Lees Summit area, I definitely recommend stopping by and supporting a small family owned business!

My wife and I came here yesterday around 2 in the afternoon with our 10 month old and I have to say we are very happy to have discovered this place. It was super clean and very spacious, so plenty of room if busy to social distance. There is a good variety of toys and playground equipment that your kids won't get bored. Our son who just started walking a month ago was running all over the place with excitement. There are several gates so you don't have to worry about the little ones escaping and making a run for it. They had a good variety of drinks such as coffee and boba tea. Which was mice that we could just relax and have a drink while the little one played. Definitely would be a good spot for a birthday or get together with friends and their kids. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place for anyone with small children.

It was our first time coming. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. My two boys had a blast playing freely without me having to stress or worry as much as I do in other public play places. It's a great feeling knowing that your kids are having fun and are in a safe, clean environment. My husband and I ordered from the cafe and both of our drinks were delicious! They were also sure to make sure my toddler's allergies were accommodated with such thorough direction and care- you could tell that mattered to them to make sure our experience was allergy friendly!

Ask the Community - My Play Cafe

Is it weird to go here if you do not have a kid? The menu looks great but don't want to be judged. :)

You are welcome to come! We have a table at the entrance lobby or you can sit inside the café (sock only, no shoes).

Whistle Stop Coffee Shop is a fantastic coffee shop on Main Street in Lee's Summit…read more I met a friend there this morning for coffee, but I was able to order a French Vanilla pour over. The beans were ground fresh for me. I love French Vanilla coffee, but it's not my wife's favorite. So it was nice to be able to get a cup and enjoy it. I also ordered biscuits and gravy and a glass of milk, which were very tasty. I brought my wife home a cinnamon roll which she enjoyed. She said it was good. The front of the house is pretty bustling and lively. At the back of the restaurant, there's a quieter room and outdoor dining on the patio. I will definitely be returning to this location. Special shout out to the staff, who were magnificent.

It's a pretty downtown location. The decor is cozy and nicely decked out for Christmas. - chairs. They spent a little extra on padded leather to save our butts. - service. They're quick and polite. - cleanliness. Now for the less good: - layout. Everything feels tight. It's prettier than it is practical. - drink quality. My daughter found her spiced chai (pictured) overly sweet. And if you look at the pic, you'll notice that they gave her basically 2/3 of a cup. That pic was taken before she took a single sip (yes, I know the straw I used to show the amount looks used; I did use it to search for a tea bag in my tea fog. See below!). My cinnamon/butterscotch tea fog was, to put it politely, unimpressive. I left it steeping at least 15 minutes because it was way too hot to drink. And then I had to get a straw to search for tea bags, because it tasted like hot foamy water and I was convinced they'd forgotten to put the tea bags in. Well, they hadn't. There was one tea bag. My standard of comparison is Gusto over by Longview, which makes the best tea fogs in town. They use two tea bags and it tastes like heaven. Whatever they served me at Whistle Stop tasted like perfumed water. So overall, I give it a 3/5. Points for location and decor and nice chairs. But the main attraction should be the drinks, and they were both kinda terrible. And there's just no excuse for serving someone 2/3 of a cup when we're paying $6 for a small drink.

It's been three consecutive times that I've came and the brew has been on the disappointing week side. If I got something else like a chai, it's been a little on the lackluster side too. They used to have some awesome baristas, and I haven't seen this one barista who made sure things ran smoothly. Yesterday, I noticed customer service really lacking. When I arrived at 11:30 AM the three baristas were all up front and had been attentive, but around 1 PM they had all drifted in back and none would pop their head out to see if anyone had come to the counter. I had stood at the counter for five minutes or so, and had thought I had made eye contact with one girl, but apparently she must have not seen me. I even said "hello" out loud, but nothing. A minute or two later a lady came in and was waiting behind me, and after a minute or two she asked if I had been waiting long. I told her the truth, and eventually a barista came out and asked me if I had been waiting long? I explained that I had, and had tried to catch someone's attention. I ordered an iced matcha and the lady behind me ordered some other drink. Guess who's came out first? I waited a few more minutes and noticed the another barista (a guy) had just started making an iced match, which apparently was my drink. Where were the girls? In the back, chatting away and giggling. I guess neither of them knew how to make an iced matcha.
