Inspired Play Cafe always has nicer wooden Montessori type of toys and learning games. I have typically gone to the Merriam location as it is closer but they are just going to have this location remain open. The owner is very nice and welcoming and she is updating and always rotating items for it to remain fresh for clients. They also have new and cheaper monthly fee which is a great deal. It is a nice atmosphere but they do need to remember to keep the music playlist playing as it is nice to relax to. The only reason I gave this location a 4 was because when I first entered the play area it was a complete disaster. There were only 2 parents at the time but they never picked up after their kids and it was hard to find matching toy items as they were everywhere. This is not typical of the Merriam location so it's probably just an issue today. They might want to suggest to parents to pick up after their child once they leave a specific area. I ended up picking the place up because the parents left and then it was more obvious to my grandson and other kids that came what toys there were available in each area.

The floors were gross in the party room and I included a picture of one of the chairs. This was it at the start of our party. There weren't trash cans in the party room, which was frustrating. We spilled some water and when I used a paper towel to clean it up it was brown. The whole place needs a deep clean! Also, the party time is short. One hour is not enough time. If they need to clean the party rooms before the next party they should allow the kids to go back and play for another 30 min to make it a 2 hour party. This place has potential!

But the rest of it is pretty nice overall. The teacher seems great and has control of the group. The times I've watched my semi-trepidacious daughter here, I've noticed they move at a pace that doesn't allow for a lot of fear which is important. They sort of just get after it and settle in from there, always a good approach. I can't say we'll go here for a long time based on the distance, but we may because my daughter loves it and we're continuing with it despite the distance for us to travel each week.

The staff should inform players that even if a room is occupied, they can scan their wristband and select their game to be placed in line. This would eliminate the next players eagerly waiting for the current players to finish their game to only have to keep waiting because they are hitting the green Replay button inside the room. 2. It would be helpful to clearly state that the doors open only when pulled closed and then pushed. Otherwise a push door indicates that we should push it. 3. If an adult must be present at the facility throughout the entire gaming experience for children aged 6 to 13, it would be beneficial to monitor this requirement. 4. I tried to call the number listed on the website a previous day and it just went to voicemail. So I was not having too high of hopes prior to coming. But since my husband works down the street, I decided to go by and see if I could have my grandson play for a while. I pulled up and it looked completely dark, and I went to try the door and it was locked. Then I noticed written on one of the doors was a notice stating that they had no air-conditioning and it was closed until further notice. So at this time, I can't recommend this business. I hope that they're able to get their air conditioning fixed and I will be able to try it out and change my rating. This area of Johnson county really does need a play place for children so I was really looking forward to trying it out.

The entire place is set up like a very tiny town and it's absolutely adorable and nostalgic. We attended the music class as well this morning, and the teacher was lovely and all the kids really seemed to enjoy it. It was no extra cost to attend it. It did seem to be geared towards a little bit younger children (1-2) but was a fun addition. The staff made the experience incredible from top to bottom. Including the fact that there was an issue with Groupon and there not being a code to reserve a playtime. They worked with me without any stress or hesitation when I called them about it. This is definitely a place that I will bring her again. The entire block is absolutely adorable with the downtown businesses.

There is a parking garage but it does get full. There are lots of other restaurants around this ice ring so it's nice if you get hungry you can get something. $25 per person includes skates.

Along with that I've watched/helped fallen skaters struggling to stand whilst they play. Whatever management change that has happened ruining this peaceful rink.
