The stand out was the bacon Gouda sandwich on some phenomenal ciabatta bread. The bagel was outstanding. The pastry case was drool worthy and we'll have to come back to eat through it. Price wise its a bit on the pricey side but worth it for the quality you're receiving. Lots of free street parking available. Wow! I'm so happy I stopped in this cute little spot. It's a cute little shop tucked into a small office building in a residential area. It's small but not too small with the outdoor and upstairs seating. I was quickly greeted by the very friendly staff after walking in. I asked "what's the best thing on the menu if I was never to be here again (I'm a driver and likely won't)" and she said the bacon Gouda and boy oh boy was it good! The bacon was very high quality and so was the bread. The cheese was super melted and made the almost garlic buttery mayo taste even better. My favorite restaurant in downtown Grandview. I am truly obsessed. I love going here for coffee, lunch, pastries and would absolutely keep Housewife in mind for catering. My go-to is their chicken salad sandwich on a crossaint - truly delicious. Last time I tried a specialty latte with honey and blackberry of all things and it was incredible. I was blown away. The baked goods and pastries are soo aesthetic and smell even better than they look although I haven't tried them myself yet (a crime!). The staff is always so kind and helpful. The restaurant itself is so adorable with the best atmosphere and interior. I love the black and white tile floors, the lofted upstairs, and the way they have set-up little water and utensil stations on each floor. Easy street parking on Grandviews historic main and side streets. I got the honey bear latte, and it was just fine. Something about it felt unremarkable. Solid breakfast sandwiches, otherwise, if you're looking for a substantial breakfast. I got the classic croissant one, and it was just the right amount of food for brunch time. Don't forget to bus your tables. I looked around and spotted where the bus bin was... but most people aren't going to look that low to the ground. There should really be a sign to direct you to where the bin is located, which is under the table where you self-serve your napkins and silverware. Several people around us left their plates when they were done, but somehow we're the only table that was reminded to bus our table? Today was our first visit to this brunch icon on Main Street in Grandview. Housewife is comfortable like an old shoe. But only if that shoe were delicious. I think I've mixed my metaphors. We ordered the OG breakfast sandwich, which was the star of the show! It had wonderfully delicious sausage, egg and cheddar cheese on a buttered English muffin. It came out so hot that neither of us could pick it up. Lovely! The sausage was delicious, handcrafted, but not weird. We also ordered the biscuits and gravy. It was served with one giant biscuit, which was absolutely delicious. The gravy is a little different. Certainly not traditional, and probably spiced with paprika due to the color. When they brought out our order, my wife noticed that it wasn't very warm. The biscuit was hot, but the gravy wasn't I asked the server if they had a microwave and she said no. That actually makes me happy. But they gave us a new plate with warm gravy. That was plenty hot. I'm pleased that they fixed the issue immediately. We will most definitely be back to Housewife! Went to Housewife Café for the first time and I'm already planning my next visit. My daughter had the avocado toast on gluten-free homemade bread, and I can't stress enough how good it was. The bread was soft on the inside, perfectly crisp on the edges, and it held together without falling apart (which is a miracle for GF). The toppings were layered with so much flavor from the pickled onions, some kind of pesto, crumbled cheese, and perfectly ripe avocado. I grabbed a blueberry muffin, and it was packed with blueberries! They were huge! And the muffin was not that dry, cakey kind you get at grocery stores. This one was super moist and had that crunchy top. My partner ordered the breakfast burrito. It was huge! It was filled with fluffy eggs, meat, cheese, all wrapped up warm. It was super satisfying without being heavy. And the real surprise? The pina colada matcha. Coconutty, tropical, a little sweet, and somehow it made the matcha taste even better. I'd 100% get that again. The place itself is beautiful with lots of natural light, plants, clean design. They have Indore and outdoor seating as well as an upstairs. While working in the area this place was highly recommended for lunch. From the outside there is a good size patio but a bit confused with the Insurance logo all over as well. Once you walk into the front door you find out that the build houses several different companies. It has an old school cafe vibe with open ceiling architecture. Most of the seats were full downstairs and since it was super windy outside I sat upstairs which was quiet and kind of like a little hide away. Housewife is an outstanding addition to (near) downtown Grandview. The food is prepared fresh daily and you will find that everything is wonderful (reminds me of European Cafe in Springfield Mo) in that respect. Crescents are flaky and perfect with a variety of flavors. The pumpkin muffins with sweet cream cheese are outstanding. Everything is so good. Okay, so this gem offers delicious pastries, coffee, sandwiches and more. I tried the almond croissant which was absolutely delicious. I am very picky when it comes to croissants and it didn't disappoint. The latte I ordered without flavor as perfect for it was very strong and did not need to add sugar xtra shots. I was so glad that I finally tried Housewife. I don't get over to this area too often but I will definitely be stopping in when I happen to be. The shop is cozy but it's larger than what it looks like. There's plenty of seating on the outside patio, in the shop, and they have an upstairs area with additional seating. The staff were friendly and super nice. I ordered The Mayor: roasted turkey, smoked applewood bacon, apricot mustard, provolone cheese, and banana peppers, on house made focaccia. This sandwich was so good! The focaccia was delicious. I could eat a loaf of it by itself. Everything on the sandwich paired well and I'd definitely get this again. I also opted for the soup of day. On this date it was Bombay potato. Again, this soup knocked it out of the park. It was so delicious and flavorful. I'm going to try to make a version of this in the winter because now I just want a tub of it. They also offer coffee, pastries, breakfast, salads and several other sandwiches. Back at my FAVORITE spot!! Housewife consistently provides the best breakfast and lunch. My mom and brother devoured their croissant breakfast sandwiches. I got my go-to lately which is the bacon Gouda sub the ciabatta bread for their freshly made focaccia, and it is the best thing ever! Cafe au lait while my lady friend ordered the breakfast sandwich along with 3 huge chocolate macaroon. The rueben was not made in rye but some focaccia bread that fell apart. On a business trip to Grandview, Missouri, the office that I was visiting, suggested take out from the Housewife. I ordered the tuna melt and the soup of the day (lemon chicken orzo). What a pleasant surprise! The food arrived well packed and hot! The soup was delicious and hearty with chucks of chicken and the spices gave nice little kick to the soup. The tuna melt on freshly baked roll with melted cheese, lettuce and celery. I was a happy camper not only did I have a great lunch, but I was able to finish my visit. TL;DR: Great little place with good brunch offerings, but I wouldn't drive to Grandview just to go here. From the press coverage and a brief look through the photos, I definitely thought Housewife was a restaurant when it can be more accurately described as a cafe. It's similar to McLain's Market, French Market, and Messenger, where you order at the front, wait for drinks, and food is served to your table. My friend and I got some iced coffee, a Country Club sandwich, and a Tomato Basil Mozzarella sandwich. The Tomato Basil Mozzarella was fantastic, with the best focaccia, sweet and strong balsamic, and fresh mozzarella and basil. The only problem with it was that it was huge and very messy, so my friend and I ended up cutting it up and eating it like a modified caprese. The Country Club was also good, but it did taste weirdly like rye or pumpernickel. Overall, loved the ambiance and the space, but because the price and quality is very similar to cafes in the KC area, I likely wouldn't come to Housewife unless I was in the area. You could come to study or read, but I wouldn't recommend it for work since the tables are (generally speaking) very small and there are virtually no outlets available to charge devices. read more

For people who haven't been, it's counter service with table numbers and really set up more like a coffee shop. But the service was very quick. I came here to grab breakfast with an out of town friend since I had heard good things from friends. It was a bit tough to find parking but eventually pulled up to this cute storefront on the right side of the building. Its a little small but it was very busy when we went and they had upstairs seating. The staff was very helpful and friendly and made sure we weren't rushed. We found a seat outside and made most of the semi decent weather. The food came out quickly and was hot to order. Everything tasted great and freshly made. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I would say between 3 people, I did spend over $60 with coffees so it can add up quick. We left satisfied with some great conversations so overall it was a great experience.
