Service was friendly and prompt. Eggs Benedict was a redo. Poached eggs would have bounced, they were so overcooked. The ham was over grilled to the point of being dry and chewy. The food today was excellent! Fresh and hot, and the coffee is bottomless. A shout out to our server Felisha, excellent and efficient, friendly and fun. I got the Tri fecta, with a waffle, eggs over easy and bacon. The blueberry compote was just enough to sweeten the waffle. Mr. G. Got the Salmon Benedict. I've had this before, and he loved it. We shared an order of steel cut oatmeal. The restaurant is clean (no sticky tables), and it was warm. No drafts. There is a Community Table, booth, and table, seating. There is also a take out option. I would definitely go back, recommend, and bring people to First Watch. It is always a lovely experience and meal. read more

This may be the shortest review I've written to date. It was what I needed to kick off my birthday weekend. I loved the flavor of the chicken sausage. Because I'm not a beef or pork eater, I find myself hoping restaurants have alternatives for bacon. I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not in this area of the metro very often, but I was meeting up with an out of town friend who was staying nearby. This First Watch location appears to be pretty new, as does the rest of the area its in. The parking lot is a bit on the small side, so we ended up parking closer to the grocery store than the restaurant. I'd gotten in line online and was seated within a minute of checking in with the host. The service was fast and friendly. Like most modern restaurants going for the open concept, it was a little loud in there, but not unbearable. The food was really good. Its been a while since I was at a First Watch. I got the biscuits and gravy with over easy eggs. The biscuits and gravy are served in their own dish next to the potatoes and eggs, which I found odd. With a dish like this, I want everything mixed together. I scooped them out of their small dish onto my plate, and put my eggs on top. Delicious. They didn't provide a lot of gravy, but what was there tasted good and was well seasoned. The eggs were over medium, but still within spitting distance of my requested over easy. The potatoes were also well seasoned, but not cooked long enough for my liking. I'd prefer a few more crispy bits, but there were some in there. This is definitely a good option for breakfast, lunch, or brunch if you are in this area. read more

Never going to this location again! I arrived at 9:30 on a Thursday morning to meet a friend and use my BOGO birthday coupon. I asked for two waters, and the young waitress brought the new industry standard - a carafe of tepid water and two small glasses. Then she disappeared for 20 minutes. The place was definitely not full, just fairly busy, but the noise level was off the charts. When my friend arrived at 9:35 we had to wait 20 minutes for the waitress to come back to take our orders. I showed her my coupon, and she instructed me to show it at the front desk when I paid. We both ordered coffee, and the waitress breezed by and dropped off two cups and a coffee carafe, but left us to pour our own. I ordered the chia seed pudding, which came with a slice of peanut butter toast. When our orders arrived I asked our waitress for some jelly. She never brought it, although she came down our aisle several times but never checked to see how we were doing. I was unable to get her attention, and after 20 minutes I got up and headed for the kitchen to get my own jelly. Another employee spotted me and brought a dish with two small spoonfuls of jelly a minute later. It wasn't until we were completely finished and waiting for our check that I spotted our waitress again, two tables down, chatting with a couple who had a toddler. When I finally flagged her down I told her I had gone after my own jelly, and she said she had been busy preparing something else. I mentioned that she'd had time to chat with the other table, and she apologized. When my friend and I were ready to leave, I showed my online coupon to the front desk and was told that it didn't qualify since my friend had ordered a small plate (biscuits and gravy) instead of an entree. My friend left, and I ordered another chia seed pudding to go so I could take advantage of the coupon. Twenty minutes later it arrived, but the chia pudding was only 1/3 as large as the one I received in the restaurant, which had been in a large bowl. My carryout version came in a little cup with only 1/2 a strawberry and no granola topping. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Two weeks prior I had eaten at the First Watch in Westport with another friend, and had a much better experience (although the place was still noisy). I'll go there next time I want to eat breakfast and not hear what my friend is saying. read more

Food is hot and delicious , sometimes you seem to be waiting for long periods. Other times fast quick and good quality. The thing I don't like as a patron is the to go orders If I'm in your store to eat breakfast I don't want to sit and wait for all the to go orders to be processed as I sit and wait then pay your wait staff with tips. Your to go service should be working as you're serving your actual eat in clients. read more

I came in today with the wife for a quick meal. There was not a wait and we were seated right away. I opted for a new item on the menu Carnitas Breakfast burrito as well as the Cinnamon Chip Pancake. The Burrito was so good, a little lite on the carnitas but the flavor was amazing. I liked the avocado, black beans and potatoes in this mix with the tomatillo hollandaise. The staff was polite, attentive and on their job as usual(at this location) My wife ordered a skillet of some kind.(see the pic) I can say that you are sensitive to dairy this may not be for you as it has a few different kinds of cheese including Cotija cheese. read more

I did not know Independence has a First Watch. Went here for the first time, it a pretty decent size, always full and packed during brunch hours. Lucky, we had a reservation, which I will recommend to do the day of. We were seated right away when we told them we had reserve. This good sized bowl of quinoa was flavored with italian sausage, roasted mushrooms, tomatoes, kale, parmesan and topped with two basted eggs. Timberlie was our server and although was kind it was a little hard getting service. Asked for a custom drink and didn't get it so I'm glad I asked about it so I didn't get charged. Asked for more water twice and needed up having to ask another server if I could please get some water. Never apologized for the lack of attention would had no issue if I was just told something. Even the larger table to our left never had received more water and asked another server or manager or other things. We get up to go pay and there were 3 people up there and nobody acknowledged us even when we looked right at them. Even waved at a couple of the people looking towards us from the kitchen nothing. What can I say about First Watch, just as I'm writing this review and thinking about the food is making hungry! Been to multiple locations and they've done such a great job with consistency that you won't have to fear going to a different location wherever you become hungry I've had multiple items from their menu beginning with their eggs, pancakes avocado toast which is one of my favorites and recommend it to any avocado lover. I debated between 5 stars and 4 stars. First of all there are tons of things on the menu I'll never order, but tons of things I will again and again...so, 4 stars it is. Starting out, I don't like to eat breakfast out, not at all. When I do, it's usually a McGriddle (sorry, but I do chains). So, enter First Watch. I found this one the other day while checking out a salon. My mom's birthday is today, and my first thoughts about First Watch, low key, boring, Perkins style menu. My error. First Watch is low key, but the menu, atleast the pancake part, isn't. I had a double stack of carrot cake pancakes. I found them perfect. Oh, they are huge, the size of a serving platter. They melt in your mouth. There are raisins and cinnamon, with grated carrots with butter. They serve pancake syrup, and sugarless syrup. For $1.29 you can get 100% maple syrup, which isn't necessary. I also ordered their seasoned potatoes. I would go there every day for those potatoes, Don't be surprised, I would actually do this. Cubed, and fried with onions, and browned and served on a plate. There were plenty and they, them and of themselves, are worth a daily trip. I found the service more than outstanding. Unfortunately, I found the rest of the menu full of eggs and gravy, salads I'd never eat, sandwiches I've not learned to get a taste for, and soup. I've never liked soup. There is a couple of other things, a veggie burger and a cheeseburger...this is why the 4 stars. The inside looks odd. At first I didn't care for it, but what ever. If I were to only judge on potatoes, pancakes and service, it'd be 5 stars. read more
