After multiple trips to this place, I feel as if I "owe" them a review. Yes, this is a chain restaurant, but one that lives up to a high standard and does it well. It feels more like a local shop, and in a way, it is. I see the same servers time after time. And even though it may be a couple of months between visits, they still remember me. And my order! My go to is their crab Benedict, which is done quite nicely. While not the absolute best I've ever had (that distinction goes to a place in Key West!), this crabbie Bennie fills my needs. My adult kids also love this place. Just a bit of warning about the wait times. Yes, it can get busy and backed up quite a bit. They and I recommend using the Nowait app to reserve online your spot on the waitlist before you get there. Made an 8 person reservation over the phone. The girl confirmed it and we showed up on time only to have them tell us that they don't do reservations. The gentleman at the front did a great job at accommodating us and trying to get us in asap. We ended having great service at both our tables from the waitress. Our father went up with both tabs to pay but I guess they only charged one tab. Only to get a call to come back to pay the other. We're from out of state and on vacation. They have fantastic food but the organization and communication at this place is such a mess. We don't want to skip out on the tab so we'll try to make it back to pay but this whole experience is beyond frustrating. So I highly don't recommend this place. read more

Service sucks was put on list and watched four other people after us get seated. Said something and the hostess said we didn't show up when we got the message when we were standing right next to the hostess waiting. You can never go wrong with first watch. I'm a big fan of the eggs Benedict and the wife always get something healthy. Nothing is seems processed and the food is delicious. You don't feel weighed down when you leave. The coffee is good and endless with excellent service. I am not being paid to say this - LOL. I've only been to the independence one in 40 Highway & 291 in what I call the delicious food strip mall. Casa Mexico along with the Thai in that location always hits the spot. read more

I've been here a few times the food was pretty good. I was not a fan of the coffee, but the juices were good and the service was pretty ok. It was a very long wait. Husband and I waited an hour for a table on a Sunday. But all in all I came back a few times in-spite the wait. Hate to say it but Ihop dose not have a wait and has better service. But this place has healthier options. So it came down to that. If your on a diet it's worth the wait and the price . Service was barely existant and even with it being busy we hardly saw pur server. On top of that food took 45 minutes to get to our table and even then the staple i normally get was sub par ... breakfast tacos ... normally wonderful. This was my first time going to this restaurant and I was extremely pleased with not only the food, which was INSANE. It was so great, I was mind blown. I think I said out loud a bunch of times "this is so amazing". But the real shining star was my waitress. She was so amazing, and so were all the other employees. The service was wonderful, the food was out of this world, and for the money, you get some crazy good food. I would tell everyone I know to go to this place. Amazing. By far the best breakfast I have ever had. We started with the million dollar bacon as an appetizer....what??? Amazing! Followed by the chia pudding power protein bowl. I don't even know how to describe something so good. The BlackBerry preserve that comes drizzled on top along with the homemade granola made this a big hit. Even the toast....what breakfast place do you go to where you can say the toast was amazing. Now for the main course. I had the farmhouse hash. Bacon avocado cheese tomatoes onions and the best breakfast potatoes served with your choice of any style egg...my choice over medium. Again...toast with a side if the preserve. We ordered chocolate chip pancakes for dessert, but honestly we had to box it up for later...(air fry pancakes are amazing...about 3 minutes) we had all three freshly made juices all were delicious, but the overall best thing that First Watch has to be the service by Raya. We are in the restaurant business in Las Vegas Nevada (home of hospitality) and Raya is the best server I have ever had in my life. She was caring, passionate about her guests and overall genuine. I always enjoy coming here. The food is great and the service is impeccable and the fact that they have free hot coffee available in the little breeze way helps also. If I have but 1 complaint it would be this, people who are waiting are packed in like sardines ...so why in the world do they not move to a larger location or have a second location in Independence? Ultimately this small issue will not stop me from coming here, no offense meant to some of the other breakfast places in Independence but this is the best. You cannot go wrong eating here. Everything is delicious. I haven't tried anything I don't like: the bacado, farmhouse hash, million dollar bacon, am superfood bowl, and breakfast burrito. They also have the greatest thick cut multigrain bread, I'm not sure how it's so good but it's delicious and elevates normal toast. read more
